A quick follow-up now that I'm home for good and have some time to focus on this.
.
- The spring loaded pin in my USA OM is pretty deep, I don't think the Marquis was making good contact on it. I tightened up the center screw, then nudged the positive wire on the inside of the OM. Now reading it in at .108ish. That's much better.
- Tore out the first build, which was actually still kinda blue. Probably could have used it but whatever I need the experience.
- Did the exact same build as last night, dual 26g 5 wraps. This time I wrapped them in contact and let the torque of the screws space them out, instead of spacing the wire manually. Came out perfect at .117.
- SX350J read it in at .138. I might need to check my solders next time the batteries are out
.
- Heated up evenly and didn't glow like the damn sun this time since the resistance was locked in at a lower value, lol.
- Set temp to 300F and power to 40J. Works like a charm, though I'm not sure how accurate the TC is. Seems to get pretty rough and not even near the temp limit. Feel free to chime in if I should have it set much lower.
