Program a curve with a TCR of 0.007 and set the temperature to 300C and assign it to an unused profile on the dna 200.

Max temperature will be limited to 600C (real) and you can pulse whatever you want and the coil will never be overheated to the point of forming TiO2... Gunk will fall off just like with a normal dry burn.

Best idea since sliced bread. :)

EDIT: Corrected mistyped TCR value

Finally got to try this technique on my new LavaBox DNA200.
Unkaman Ti. 26 gauge, 6 wraps, 3mm coil, .32 ohm. Spaced wrap.

It did pulse red on its own, nice!

My only issue was my two outside wraps stayed DARK. Not sure if it would need more temp to get those to glow, but I'm still vaping on this now and it seems fine.

coils were not too dirty to begin with. After pulsing the coils looked DULL GREY, no white powder. Used soft toothbrush and pipe cleaner with some 99% alcohol, then water wash and dry. Rewicked with KGD cotton.

The dullness comes from the surface arrangement of the crystals (light reflexion). No TiO2 formation as far as I've seen.

My two outer wraps also don't light up but are cleaned nevertheless.

Glad you liked it.

Thanks for the confirmation on the outer wraps, thought my build was going bad. Been using this coil for many Subtank refills so far.

Too bad Ti gets a bad rep mostly because of the "dry burn" issue. I prefer a NON alloy material and am lead to believe it's the BEST choice so far as a coil material. Many are chasing the NiFi material, but other then being able to dry burn it like Kanthal I don't get the benefit over Titanium!

The next time I wrap a Ti coil, I'm going to use this DNA200 preset to see if I can anneal and soften my 26 gauge Unkaman wire, on an empty Subtank RBA, just making a simple loop from one atty lead to the other. Tried this on my IPV D2 at a low wattage mode and it did not work very well, for a variety of reasons.

I'm looking for a good supplier of 24awg titanium that is annealed in Europe. Anyone have any good recommendations? I would order from stealthvape again but someone mentioned that their last batch was pretty dirty.
ok, you might try this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Titanium-Ro...&qid=1445861198&sr=8-9&keywords=titanium+wire

I bought some of this about 8 months ago and it is annealed and acid pickled (ie its not shiny). They also have 26g apparently. However, I did get some 26g from them more recently and it was springy as all hell so Im not sure if they have two types. You could mail them and check. Otherwise, all other suppliers that I know of in UK/Euro sell the more springy versions. I should know as I havve pretty much all of them...lol!

I bought my Titanium grade 1 26gauge from Wireandstuff It is a bit springy but so far its the best I have tried. Its vacuum annealed.

You're fine in a mech as long as you don't dry burn it until it glows. You shouldn't worry about Ti safety during vaping conditions, the temperature is never that high and if it ever did you would be in much trouble as VG produces acrolein much earlier.

Thanks All.

Reason I'm asking is that I'd like to stick to one wire type for all my stuff.

I won a Cloupor Mini+ TC here on ECF and I need to get a tank for it.
The Cloupor only does Nickel and TI, And I have a few Genesis tanks for my Mech.

I'd rather not stock up a lot of different wires if possible.

Probably end up getting TI in 30AWG, as I would like to stay around the 1ohm mark.

Thanks again

Eric

why 1ohm?????? Get 24 or 26g Ti, anything between 0.15 and 0.5 is good to go!

Because I like tootlin' on Genesis tanks at around 1-1.5 ohm and want to do the same with my other gear.

Eric
Ok thats what I thought but TP vaping is a whole different ball park of activity. You need to reset strategy really!

No I dont.

I won a Mini+, And I'm gonna play with it.

I would never had bought one.

If I cant make it to work in a way that I like, I'll simply stop using it.

Whatever tank I get for it and whatever build I use on it is only an experiment.

Cheap fun.

ok. have fun then with your 1.5 ohm Ti coils! Or just use it in power mode and stick to kanthal. Whatever floats your boat...

jsuyt for your information, the cloupor wont fire Ti above 0.8 ohms and Ni above 0.5 ohms from the specs although you can probably get it to go higher...
