What is consensus TCR for Unkamen Ti? Wire Wizard CSV? 0.0035? 0.0041?
No consensus needed. If it Gr1, then the TCR is 0.00366 :)

edit: that was a bit dogmatic I guess. I think the Unkamen Ti is the real deal and so 0.0037 or so is the right value. To be honest, I have been playing a bit with TCR on mods that support it, particulalry with NiFe48 - i thought it would be very much the same as just changing temp a bit but the effect is subtly different. Perhaps no surprise really but interesting!

Have you tried doing some just regular twisted builds with it? A couple of the wires I have are springy and when I twisted them they were much easier to work with. I've bought almost all my titanium on fasttech, I've bought just about every titanium on that site and found the couple brands that work very well and have little to no spring. If your interested let me know and I can tell you which wire I bought from them. I also got some from ring lord and that wire is good for twisting too.

This information would be very useful, as i'm about to order my first Ti spools from fasttech and would much appreciate if you can tell us which ones are the less springy. I was going for authentic MKWS 24 and 26 ga.

I just put a twisted, 28 gauge, 3mm, 8 wrap, coil in my FEV V3. Holy fog machines Batman! This is my first try with twisted Ti and it is really amazing! 50 watts at 400F on an Invader Mini.

Next will be twisted 30 gauge in a Fogger V6, just to see...

I will have to try out the twisted 28g Ti for S&G just to check it out.
Did you twist it till it snapped or loose?

I twisted it tight but not until it snapped. Waiting for it to snap is too unpredictable for me, results in wasted wire if it snaps in the middle and I'm CHEAP! I'll try to get a photo later today if I have a minute. It ain't purdy but it sure works well!

Do not order that mkws titanium. I hope I didn't get to you to late. It's terrible. Extremely springy and just snaps while using it.

I may have jumped the gun...ordered some 24g from unkamen.

Are you guys using the pure titanium on the front page where you pick your gauge?

Didnt read through the whole thread.

latexyankee,

You didn't jump the gun. That 24 Ga. Grade 1 is perfect.

At least somebody is seeing the light [emoji14]

I just dropped by to inform that my 24awg coil experience is still very limited. I only built one single coil... 7th August and I've been using it 24/7 since then (I don't even have another atomizer, excluding two drippers I use once a week maybe during a 10 min vape session).

This coil is almost 4 months old and no hint of failure or change in resistance. :)

Ever have one of those days? I was vooping my low tank DNA40, my favorite "around the house" mod, with a Fogger V6 on it and it went south, like to cut my throat with the burn and harshness. I had just rebuilt it with twisted 30 gauge Ti and it was doing a great job a 30 watts, then BAM! Lowered the power down to 15 watts and still cut my throat. Now, keep in mind the last set of coils, 28 gauge not wrapped, lasted about two months.

So, into the office and checked it out. Sure enough one wire had broken off at the post. So, I tore it apart, cleaned some more 30 gauge, ran downstairs and twisted it up, came back up and whipped up two more coils. Installed the first one fine, but the second one ended up broken at a coil post.

Got ...... and ripped them out. Cleaned some more 28 gauge and whipped up some six wrap coils out of frustration. Again, the first one went in fine but the second one snapped at a post, the same post. I'm a slow learner at times, LOL.

YiLoong over drills the holes under the wire hole and that makes them into guillotines. I stuff those over drills with wire, but this one post must have settled or changed somehow with use. I ended up re-stuffing the thing and now am back to untwisted 28 gauge coils, until I rebuild it again.
