i have a spool of ti wire coming from 101 vape. anyone tried this wire? it's on sale right now for $4 for 10 m.

My Ti equipped tanks were no longer hitting well so yesterday I cleaned and rewicked both my Ti builds.

The coils did not actually look as bad as some I've torn into but after removing the wick and mounting on a Reliant (I wanted to avoid the SX350J chips have that 'dry coil' feature) with a TCR of 72 and temp of 400-500F I let the low glow burn off any gunk before rinsing with cold water and rewicking.

Gee unless I snap the leads off at the capture screws or simply want to try a different build I don't see how/why my Ti coils won't last years with the current use-clean-rewick-use cycle. I used 24AWG on both these coils so they are rather "sturdy" and could withstand multiple cycles.

Yep I am going to try that method but using 9-11w pulsing as advised. Never tried it but sounds like should work pretty good to do that then clean them like normal under water with a brush.

You know I can't swear to it but when I changed a few of my tanks over to NiFe I got a cold soar on my lip where I vape. Since I quit using it it is going away. Who knows. I am going to stick to Ti I really like the way it works and not that hard to use. Probably get somemore Crazy Wire from Vape Mesh. Even with the shipping it wasn't that expensive. The shipping was more then the wire. Maybe I'll try the stuff from Zivipf anyone tried that they only charge $5 for shipping from Germany. I do kind of like the higher resistance with the CW since it is actually about 26.5awg as reported from the Bloke MIA. My 5 wrap coils come out between .28 and .29ohms.

I use an old toothbrush to clean my coils. It probably puts more Ti02 on my coil than it takes off from residual toothpaste. Just kidding.....or aaaaam I?

Well 95% of all toothpaste out there uses TiO2 in its composition (white teeth promoter) so yeah, you're right. You might be putting there more TiO2 than removing.

Just relax and drink a coup of milk... Wait, that's loaded with TiO2 too! After all, we want white sparkling milk not something yellowish right? [emoji14]

All you folks ordering from Zivipf should bear in mind that unless something has changed, their wire is as dirty as heck, I use it and it's a real pain to clean, even with industrial grade Scotch Brite and 93% IPA.

Wonder if I can make a coil out of tooth paste and vape milk with it?

Quick question, I've only been able to read this thread from page 130 or so..

I have some Ti coming from unkamen, this will be first experience with anything other than ni200 for temp control.

I saw a post a few pages back that had the TCR values for this specific wire, do I just enter those values into whatever profile on the escribe software?

I've also seen the ability to export a csv from the wire wizard for dna 200 but I'm unsure if all I need to do is select the type of wire and gauge..does the build calculator on the left of the page factor in any of this?

I will be using 24g Ti from unkamen going dual contact coil in a velocity probably about 8 wraps.

Just download the Ti Gr1 csv file and load it into escribe. The TCR curve doesnt depend on build/guage/day of the week/cosmic ray background, so dont worry!!

My Ti wire of choice to date is Sweet Spot 0.5mm, I like that they provide the tcr csv file and works very well. All tanks currently using are dual coil. 2.5mm, 6 wraps spaced comes in little below 0.1. I prefer the heavier gage wire is much easier to rewick. Currently trying NiFE48 and works very well too.

If you mean sweet spot vapors company, that Ti wire is a mystery alloy. It's based on Ti gr2. I wouldn't let my cat vape on it.

Yeap completely agree. Something more troubling is that PBusardo uses it and mentions it on every occasion in his videos. Given his reach I'm certain a lot of misinformed people will buy it without knowing what they're getting. I've alerted him to the fact that he's paying a premium for mere Grade 2 Ti and that the folks from SSV have been "bending the truth" but I believe he's still using it. I think at least some disclosure on his website would be a good idea.

The purity doesn't begin to drop until grade 3 when additional components, such as palladium, are added. The difference, grade 1 and grade 2, being more related to the physical properties, such as ductility and hardness probably governed by processing. I use grade 1, just seems the "right" one to use, and according to what I've read, is more ductile than grade 2. If the metallurgists here can clarify this it would be very helpful.

I've heard that too. I wonder what the difference in res and tcr is between the two. If the tcr is different it might explain why my Evic Vt60's are underheating by 80°f in Ti mode using G1 ie Jtech may have used G2 for temp calibration.

Edit: Nevermind, Wire Wizard has G2 tcr at .3525 vs. G1 at .3660. The lower tcr of G2 could explain it.

Appreciate the heads up, and ran out the other week and will do some more research before potential reorder. I got it from vapordna and had good reviews. I ordered some Grade 1 from lightning vapes the other day as had a few other items.

Im glad you did that. Hopefully he will do something about it. In priciple, there is nothing wrong with using Gr2...its just that they market it as some kind of mystical, magical wire specifically engineered for vaping in some mystical and magical way, when it is actually some bod standard Gr2 wire that hey have cleaned and maybe vacuum-annealed a bit...ridiculous...

ps. the tcr for Gr2 is slightly different I think...he never takes that into account either!

Again, based on some casual reading so take it for that, grade 2 is as pure as grade 1. In my feeble mind that would make the coefficient of resistance the same if that is, indeed, true. Some extremely minor difference might enter into it due to the way it's processed, but it probably couldn't be very significant at all. If their TCR is significantly different it would seem to indicate a wire that isn't actually grade 2 and contains some other alloys.

Oh yeah, it HAS to be better, it's silk and sweet, LOL.
