I still prefer the pure titanium G1 metal. I buy them in prebuilts if offered and roll my own in RBA's, as well as RDA drippers and RTA's. Still wish Kanger would make titanium prebuilts. Not sure why they are one of the few large companies not offering one?

For tanks like the Cubis, they do make a titanium prebuilt, but I have yet to find any in stock, and most sites so far don't even list a Ti coil. So I've been using their .5 ohm Stainless Steel coils, with mixed results in TC mode. You can use Ti in the Cubis RBA, but it's not a great RBA. As many have noted SS's low TCR is not ideal in TC mode, works better in power mode/wattage, but defeats the whole point of TC vaping.

Hi guys want to try out titanium for the first time but this is one MAMOTH thread.

What is the general consensus for Ti wire. Temco shopping is far to expensive to Australia.

Are people still using the Ti from the etsy guy or is there a better source for it?

What gauges would you recommend a first timer to get?

TIA

I personally recommend SSV Ti wire, its a wire thats actually made for vaping. Try to use the 0.5mm wire to start. And of course ensure you're in TC mode or use the appropriate files for eScribe if you're using a DNA200. There's a large community that uses this wire and the maker and owner of SSV can tell you everything about it. Give them a look on FB or on their website. Sweet Spot Vapors.

I would recommend:

Ti Gr1 (if possible annealed) from a reputable vendor like stealthvape in the UK or Zivipf in Germany. I also heard good things from Vendors like Rio Grande (is that the correct name?). Beware that there is at least one vendor selling "magic" Ti enchanted and forged in the deep lava crates of Mordor especially for Vapers. It's grade 2 Ti. You don't want that. Well, you can vape it no problem but paying high money just because it was forged using magic spells doesn't make much sense when the base material is cheaper and less pure than any Ti gr1 out there.

Regarding sizes, it depends on your vaping and building habits. I use 26 gauge and 24 gauge. I also have 28 gauge which I pretty much don't use but it works. My experience has told me that thicker is robuster and can last a long time. I once had a 24 gauge coil lasting 5 months and I only changed it because I wanted to try something different. Thinner wires tend to deform when you wick them tight (with rayon for example) or when you're cleaning them.

Good luck and welcome to the dark side :)

SSV wire is not made for vaping! It's some grade 2/unknown grade that SSV sells with bs lies. According to. A. Metalurgist, on this thread, the process SSV describes simply can't do what they claim to do. SSV simply does as so many companies who market "specifically made for vaping" stuff: take something that already exists, put in in a nice wrapper/box, lie about the product, and sell it at an incredible markup. I suggest boycotting such companies.

That is the SSV wire discussed earlier.

I have had good luck with the grade 1 Ti from Fasttech. It might get to your location quicker than to us in the usa. Or, it might take forever because of weird shipping tariff laws.
Just make sure that you get the grade 1. Look at the reviews and comments.

I get mine here Titanium Wire

or here Titanium Wire

I'll just pop in to a brick and mortar and pick a spool up. If I like the whole Ti thing I'll get a bulk order from that zivi place.
They sell the same brand that vapers tech stuff. Is it annealed?

I was recommended here to get the annealed stuff.

Sorry for these sophomoric questions (I honestly should know my stuff by now) but things change quickly.. Sometimes too quick LoL !!!
