Oh, they burn alright. They've been burning from the beginning--no end in sight. And if you don't believe me...

Its melted thru
This is not melting .. this is quite clearly burning, as I have said all along .. folks want to deny it happens, hey, that's your business .. facts are facts .. search ECF and you'll find literally hundreds of posts on the issue ..
We used to think the Earth was flat ..
My view is same as many here. At this point in time, it is our job to educate. I am NOT SMOKING, and then calmly explain it's water vapor. While no one knows the long term effects to someone vaping, when only water vapor and some light aroma is produced, it's not SMOKING.
I've been in Lowes the last week buying things, vaped all the time, no one said boo.
But if we allow NO SMOKING to mean "us" then that means we lose and have gained nothing.
That looks like the cart was being used while it was very empty. Most likely no liquid at all. I have alot of cut open carts and none of them look like that. Mine have some browning near the element, thats about it.

That carto was fully saturated and used by an experienced ECF veteran--long-time veteran. It's all described and documented in the thread I had linked in my first post.
You may not like what you see, but facts are facts. Please visit the thread if you doubt me. This thread is two years old.
And those are three different cartos. Three different users, all experienced.
I agree, that is either someone vaping an emtpy cartomizer (possibly to see what would happen, as in would it start a fire?), a defective switch, or a defective battery that did not shut off. I know when I first started vaping, I burned up atomizers by burning dry, without knowing it. Had there been sufficient liquid in those cartomizers, the heat created from the resistance of the coil, on the primary wick material, would have been cooled down by the liquid in the rest of the wicking material, preventing a burn through of the primary wicking material, and only produce a vapor. Now, say that three times! That looks like the cart was being used while it was very empty. Most likely no liquid at all. I have alot of cut open carts and none of them look like that. The battery would short out before any threat of fire.
That's absolutely not so, a good quality 18650 which many mods use would burn a carto up but bad, a 26500 or 26650 would totally destroy a carto, I believe even some smaller bats would do one heck of a job on a carto too and have as the pics show !
I doubt a battery would last long enough to melt a cart.
