In my eyes, nicotine is still harmless. Even my Doctors agree

I am a heart patient and both my Cardiologist as well as my General Physician have both said even though I no longer smoke analogs, the nic I get in a PV is a proven blood vessel constrictor .. still raising the possibility of heart issues, especially if you go under the knife .. as well, generally accepted advice from most any surgeon is to quit all nico at least 2 weeks before surgery ..

So, I did the research, and sure enough, they are right ..

I have seen 2 cardiolgists recently and they both said the same thing.

That type of information is just absurd .. it is universally known that ..

Nicotine causes a release of epinephrine Prono a hormone that increases heart rate and breathing; also called adrenaline., leading to a faster heartbeat, higher blood pressure, quickened breathing, and higher blood sugar. So while the user may feel relaxed, the body is actually working harder to pump blood and take in oxygen. Over a long period of time, this strain on the heart and elevated blood pressure can lead to heart attack and stroke. The drug also complicates the chemistry of the blood, causing blood vessels to become smaller and blood cells to stick together in clots. This can increase the risk of organ damage and stroke. Over time, nicotine contributes to the build-up of plaque in the arteries, a leading cause of heart disease.

Do a little more research on nicotine and see that it has alot of good benefits. Dont just look at the ones related to smoking

When a Cardiologist says Nicotine is not bad for you, they either need to retire or visit a shrink .. any benefit is far outweighed by the negatives ..

It's not about personal freedom. It's about uneducated business owners that think any kind of exhaled vapor consitutes a danger of second hand smoke.

Lets please not turn everything into some politicized quest for personal freedom or it's going to turn off half the vapors that would otherwise lend support to fighting smoking bans. There are too few of us as it is.

Right because fighting bans is something we do when we don't care about being free. I'm not sure why you're throwing out words like politicized and quest. I don't feel awareness that giving up a freedom here can lead to losing another there is equivalent to a quest... nor do I consider freedom policial but... *shrugs*

Not sure I would take it that far. My Cardiologist does not want me using nicotine either but if it will keep me from smoking the benefit outweighs the negatives. I guess it really depends on the individual situation.

Mine considers the PV a step in the right direction, sure .. as I mentioned in my earlier post, he simply cautioned me that nic intake is not without a set of risks .. and that full abstinance is the best way to go ..

That was the first 4. I felt it would be redundant to keep going.

FYI. Nicotine is used as an insecticide. And many groups consider it a poison. Not a drug.

This would probably be the most accurate statement.

Plus, if you're (not who I am quoting) going to request links stating that nicotine is bad for you, perhaps you'd better solidify your position by offering a link stating that the good in nicotine outweighs the bad.

Show me info that has nothing to do with SMOKING and nicotine.Your info is old info.

Time for you to stop trolling. In fact it appears it is time to shut down this thread since it has just become a few people trolling each other with little other benefit to the community.
