Keep in mind that the Panasonic high-drains come in two styles, flat-top and button-top.

Just an added note...

The Panasonic CGR18650CH's are ONLY made in the flat-top configuration.

The nipple-tops have to be custom made by a reputable distributor, like the one Orbtronic's uses.

The very same distributor as Orbtronic's uses, is the same in the recent CGR Co-Op that TravTech mentioned that he is participating in. :D

We've got 10k+ pieces on order, silver ones will be coming soon and then maybe colors but still working on that. I love this thing and I'm getting about 7 hours out of a battery running a dual coil 1.5 ohm at 4.2 volts. Not that the battery is dead but I just feel the need to swap it (Can't ged rid of my regular gripper habit I guess :(),

hoog

What mAh battery are you running getting that vape time? Has there been a confirmation on whether is this running stable voltage, or is it PWM?

I just got mine a couple hours ago and since no one else has mentioned this, I may have gotten a weird one. I tried it with an AW IMR button top and it didn't work well at all. I noticed the battery really rattled. I even turned in a ticket before I thought to try something. I have some small rare earth magnets that I got for playing with mods. I put one of those on the positive end. No rattle and it worked fine. I also have some Panasonic CGR18650CH flat tops. That worked a little better than the AW but, it still rattled and if I shook it, it lost contact and reset the device. It worked fine with a magnet too. I'm not sure why I ran into this when no one else has.

As for the device itself. It looks good, I like the rubberized feel. I have my doubts about how it'll take it when I drop it in the driveway. Time will tell on that one. :) I'm in the minority I know but, I prefer a knob rather than buttons and a meter. A knob doesn't reset when I change the batt and I don't need numbers to know what I like. :) For the price though, it's a nice little device. It does what a VV is supposed to do and it fits nicely in a shirt pocket.

I haven't found the battery voltage display people are talking about. It's not mentioned in the instructions either.

I watched a Youtube review of this mod and I must say that you're not the only one experiencing problems with the devise, Mickey.

The reviewer actually had more significant problems with not being able to use certain 2.0 ohm cartos and then just had the whole thing fail for a day and then work the next??

Bizarre to say the least....

Hit the POWER button under the display once... It will display the carto ohm resistance... what a few seconds and it will show the battery voltage next.

Well using magnets, that I already had laying around, on the batts isn't much of a hardship. It just took me a while to think of it. Besides my wife thinks box mods are more my style and I gotta keep her happy. ;)

Okay, I see it now. Thanks!!!

Madvapes must have put a rocket on my unit, because it got to the great plains from NC in a day and a half. I had to work so i didnt get to play around with it till about 20 minutes ago. All in all its a pretty spiffy unit. A whole lot tinier than i had expected, but still feels good in the hand. *that's what she said*

I dont know if its just me, but the battery door doesnt seem to close all the way. like it "locks" into place but the outside edge can be pushed in a little bit. The unit still fires, but it makes it a touch wobbly when sitting straight up on a table. The Ohm detector seems to be working flawlessly, Battery levels seem right in line too. All the cards on the table, this unit just performs, and well. The only thing i could ask for extra would be a drip well. Hopefully the connection is sealed. I dont think this will replace my bullet-proof Reo for my out and about PV, but it definitely gives it a run for its money at half the price. All the features of your shiny Provari in a cute little form factor.

Well my plastic box mod broke after 7 months of heavy use. Do we know if the device maintains the set voltage or is it way off.

The set voltage is not voltage under load, if that's what you mean. I have it set at 5.2 and under load that's coming in at 5. Oddly enough, it won't fire my in-line voltmeter without a load. I just need up down and some way to tell if things are going wacky. Everything else is taste. So for me, the voltage is no different than 1 to 10 on a volume knob.

got mine today and something is wrong with it or im doing something wrong..
I tried it once with the batteries right out of the box, it worked good.

So I charged the 18650's that came with it & now the unit wont hit.
It turns on, displays voltage etc.. but when I press the top button to take a hit the screen goes dim & the power button lights up, but it doesnt heat up the carto.. I tried several different cartos. The batteries are fine too, I tested them in my bolt.

the display is showing 9.9 ohms with & without a carto attached

any ideas?

One thing about this mod is that the center post is pretty far down in there. I had to make an adjustment to the Penelope to use it. You might need to pull the center post up on the cartos. There's a video around for how to do it but, I can't find it right now. I know on one mod I just ended up using a shorty extension to do the same thing.

yeah it shows 9.9 ohms when there is no atty attached. your center post isnt making connection to the pvs 510 connector.
