I purchased three of the Vivi Nova 2.5 3.5ml tanks, along with the additional colors of tanks for use on my ProVari.. regardless of voltage, liquid, or even some very slight modding that I attempted (as was recommended right here on ECF).. I get nothing but a wretched burning taste with every vape..

I have no use for these units.. I should have put the money towards more carto tanks or even an RBA like the ZAP.. unfortunately, I listened to some members on here before reading what others had run into, which just so happens to be the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!

Is there any solution to this worth while or even reading and attempting??? Or should I just throw these things in the garbage and scrap it up to not doing as much research as I should have???

which ohm heads do you have on? I find I only use the 2.8's and the rest are useless, but LOVE them at lower than my "usual" volatage still getting clousd of warm clean vapor. I also vape VG juices and add 2-3% of distilled water to thin a little, fill my tank and put one drop in the center hole, and let set for a few minutes then...vape away. Let me know if I can help!

no luck... it vaped decently for one or two pulls on it (probably due to the drop in the center, and then I was right back to getting burnt flavor.

Not using a straight VG juice, so thinning it with water shouldn't be necessary.. in fact its a higher ratio of PG than VG..

I don't suppose GotVapes has any kind of return policy for things like this.. lol. After trying them I'd much rather use the money for more tanks and cartos or even a ZAP.. this is simply awful and the worst vaping experience I've ever encountered (including the cheap convenience store brand I began vaping with).. If I had to choose between these and going back to traditional cigarettes (after not a single one in over 8 months)... I'd choose the traditional cigarettes..

sorry to hear this, but it's been the exception rather than the rule to having such bad problems with the vivi nova. You haven't told us what head you're using, what voltage setting and just what the ratio of pg/vg is. Viscosity of the bases used by different vendors will vary as well, so you may still need to thin your juice........
Also..........are you remebering to tilt so that the wicks stay saturated?

Sorry to hear about your burnt taste in the Vivi. I know on some mods (haven't tried the ProVari) I get a very hot vape, especially on the lower ohm heads. This seems to occur on pwm or switching regulator VV chips but not so much on the linear chips. I like a cooler vape so normally will use the 3.0Ω to 4.0Ω range. Those are available, but it sounds like you may be wrapping your own so it should be easy enough to add coils till you find your sweet spot.

It is possible that it’s a wicking issue. If you are rewicking and coiling your own, it might be the wicking material… just a thought.

Good luck

The number one cause of issues that I hear of with a real Vivi Nova... is the user not keeping the wicks wet by tilting it often enough. In fact, this same issue is seen with any top coil wick... if you don't tilt it often, the wicks get dry and don't have enough juice at the coil. Even the die hard carto tank fan Phil Busardo uses these without issue... of course he does make a bit of fun of having to tilt and swirl, but he still likes them....

There is another possible reason... a fake clone. If you didn't purchase from a known good vendor such as GotVapes, then it may not be a real Vivi Nova that is actually made by Vision.

which head is in and what voltage are you vaping?

Agree with TomiGirl here...

You would like a response FinchX you need to provide useful info...
I use 2,4-8 heads @ 3,8v or so. My juice is 80/20 (PG/VG) and I have no trouble tweaking it with my VV APVs.
I toss heads after a week or so, not interested in rebuilding a disposable head...

Just to follow Adrena's direction...

I'm vaping a 80/20 PG/VG juice at 8 watts / 4.8v using my primary juice... I have others that I need to go down to 7.5w to get the vape I prefer and a couple that I have to go up to 8.5-9w ... I typically find that I prefer to vape a couple of clicks down in wattage from where the juice I'm vaping starts to taste a little burnt to me.

Some 100% VG juices don't release their full flavor potential with the Vivi's IMO. I still use them regularly with other liquids. I'm sure he will give us some more detailed information soon but installing a diy silica wick has made a difference for me. I know the wick it comes with is silica but it just tastes better with the wick I use for some reason.

Its unfortunate indeed your VISION BRAND 2.5 are giving you fits. As another member stated, it is indeed the exception, rather than the rule. I must point out, your above comment (and I'm sure I speak for all of us "regular's" here), is in extreemly poor taste, and offensive.

Taste is subjective, not only for Juice, but delivery devices as well. I would expect better behavior from a fellow Texan.

While Im not the least bit offended having been using the vivi since the really issue filled v1, I do possibly have your solution. On some of the vivi heads you will find that the white wrapper inside the tube of the atty is resting on the coil or impinging on the wick keeping enough juice from reaching the coil. Adjust the coil to the center and adjust the wrapper away from it. Trim any excess white insulator from above the wicks so the slots are clear and only wick is in those slots.

Btw, for everyone.... Ive found that by doing this the only time i need to rotate the tank to keep the wicks wet is when the tank is nearly empty.

That white insulation if its anywhere near the coil or the wick will cause the dry/burned hits, EVERY time. This is always my fix and it ALWAYS works.

Apologies on not giving specifics.. I assumed it was inferred that I'd tried all three heads before asking what could be causing this..

I got the best results from this setup using the 2.8 ohm head, and following another users instructions I dripped down dead center onto the coils to kind of get them started wicking better. Have been moving from 4.2-4.8 v on my Provari with the 2.8 head.

Using this head and drenching the coils in the center has made them wick a bit better, and the burn taste isn't noticeable. Though I'm having to pull excessively hard for a hit and even though there's no BURN taste, I still get a cotton-ish taste that I'm not enjoying at all..

I contacted GotVapes (they're not knock-offs as some asked) and requested information and/or help return/replacement options and they don't honor any.

If these work for you then great, for me personally I'll stick to carto tanks.. Appreciate all of your help and suggestions through this

You never know how something will work for you and your e-Liquids. Only way to know is to try it.

Sounds like they just didn't work for you.

It simply boils down to what works for me may not work for you. Juice is the same way. Just because I like a particular juice, does not mean it will be liked my you.

I have tried the Vivi Novas (all versions). The old Vision Stone tanks (Best flavor of them all IMHO). The Titan tanks (not my cup of tea but my mom LOVES THEM), even the split fires. None of them work as well (for me) as a good Boge carto in a tank.

The vast number of people here have great things to say about the Vivi's and the Split Fires. I have some Vivi's I use from time to time. They work well. The Split Fires, I can't get them to work well to save my life.

So like you I stick to my Carto Tanks and continue to try new stuff as it comes around.

Just my opinion Finch, and I have yet to own a Provari.... I think 4.8 is a bit high for any vivi..
As to got vapes return policy you did read the bold red "Please note" on the purchase page? A clause many a vender uses on anything that should not be returned for health and safety reasons...
Max was in the right not to offer return or replacement. Seeing as you pulled a ticket I do not see why you would even start this thread, other then poor taste..

I'm failing to see where this would be some vainly attempted attack on GotVapes or the product ...

As far as starting the thread and a support ticket, my apologies for trying everything possible to see what is wrong or what I could be doing wrong with a product.

If you read, I actually pointed out I purchased them from Got Vapes to show they are in fact genuine which I would think is a compliment but possibly I'm wrong?

Pointing out there was no refund or replacement offered was nothing but elaboration. I'm assuming you read the ticket, in which case maybe you missed the last part where I told Max it was not a problem, vaping is a learning experience and these simply weren't for me apparently. I have nothing against the product, the company I purchased them from, or Max..

If I had an issue then I wouldn't have ended off with explaining that for those happy with theirs, that's great... For me, PERSONALLY, I'm not a fan and will continue looking.

My apologies again if my purposes and statements were misinterpreted but I meant nothing of the sort that you seem to be accusing me off.
