That's a drag, isn't it? CE4s would look so cool on it.

The adapters ProVape sells beat the snot out of all others on the market. My bummer is that it took me two years (and TOO many adapters) to figure that out. Am happy now though.

So, uh, you rocking with a Stardust?

To be fair, it seemed opus (unlike some others) always had some arm's-length respect for the ProVari, which would show from time to time..

I don't think that's fair. p.opus has always shown respect for it's durability and accuracy. It's the other points he brought up that always bothered him...and will probably continue to bother him. He's said that the MVP's will be his out and about devices and the ProVari will be his at home device. I give it about a week before that changes. ;)

I'm back. :) In all seriousness, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, and again when you've spent some more time with it. What made you decide to take the plunge? Was it one of those "I get it now" things or something else?

Also, mad props for coming here and posting about it!

All joking aside, I had some uncle sam money burning a hole in my pocket and I had just paid off my car, so the time for a ProVari class device was now. but never thought I would leave the convention with that hole being filled with a ProVari. I was expecting getting a Protovapor XPV.

I went to one of the booths and the guy just let me try it. I must of spent 20 minutes, feeling the heft of it, feeling the solid construction, the consistancy of the vape. (didn't hurt I was rocking a Kayfun as well)

Pbusardo was also at the convention and he and Dimetris were there sporting the new ZNA (which I have a sneaking suspicion were given to them "gratis" or at least on loan for the day...) Those two have enough 'cred in the vaping community to get anything they want. I asked Phil where his ProVari was, and he opened up his shirt pocket and pulled it out.

There is something to be said when these two guys, who have access to any mod they can get their hands, still pack a ProVari.

Phil was asked one time during a recent video with Dimitris, if a burglar were to steal all of his vape gear what would he spend his money on to replace and he said a ProVari and a Kayfun....

Let's get one thing straight though. I still love my MVP's and I even love my Sigelei V3 (once you dab the threads with Noalox). And to be perfectly honest with you, with the Kayfun, I really can't tell much difference if any in the vape quality. I can't taste rattlesnaking, I tried.

But there is something intangible about the ProVari. The button placement is perfect, it just fits in your hand perfectly, It is well balanced, it has a solid feel. Both the ProVari and the V3 are stainless steel, but the ProVari empty seems to weigh more than the V3 with the 18490 installed. You guys understand and now so do I. Taste wise alone, not much difference, but all of the components put together...It became a no brainer.

As far as getting a second ProVari? Let's not get all banana sandwich here. I'm not a big fan going out in public with a $180.00 mod in my pocket. I know how I am. I can afford to lose a $40.00 mod much more than a $180.00 mod. The MVP is still my go to travel and out and about mod. I love not having to worry about batteries, it lasts all day, it hits my Kayfun like a tank. I see my MVP's getting just as much if not more use than the Provari. The V3 is for when I'm out and I feel like sporting a tube instead of a box. The ProVari is my chill out and relax at home vape. I'm rocking my Kayfun on it while I type.

Phil & Zen/Mike are "neighbors" & buds.. Zen seems to be a pretty generous guy, though perhaps it fell under the marketing budget

That said, I don't think Phil would be using his ZNA if he didn't truly love it -- same goes for his ProVari...

So why get one ? I understand that it's so great that it trumps all misgivings, but why ? (output?)
I never tried one - hence the question (i got a standard VW/VV pass through ego/510, what am I missing ?)

WHY PROVARI?

Because it is dependable and reliable.

Consistancy; your last puff will be as good as the first.

800 Hz pulse width modulation chip = a smoother vaping experience. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/488840-rattlesnake-effect-why-cheapo-vv-exception-itaste-mvp-dont-vape-same-provari-dna20d.html

Durable as a mechanical mod.

Outstanding customer service for life. You can have your Provari repaired for as long as you want it.

Exceptional build and attention to detail. Excellent hand ergonomics design.

USA made and assembled. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provape/289525-provari-made-usa.html

P.S. / edit
I use the V3

Hard to explain. Ever put something in your hand and it just feels right?..(No double entendre intended). Kind of like that. I've had issues where my V3 didn't seem to fire and I chalked it up to user error. Before I put Noalox on the threads, the thing would "flex" in my hand. I didn't like it.

I read that if you tighten up the tube on the V3 until snug, the spring tension tends to cause the battery to press up against the control head and dislodge the button and tilt the screen. So the Noalox helps prevent the threads from seizing and stiffens up the slop between them so you don't feel the need to fully snug up the device.

In the Provari, everything just seems "thought out". For example, I asked them once why they didn't use an OLED display to make it more modern, and they mentioned that the OLED is very sensitive to moisture and the LED's are the most resistant to moisture. Now that I look inside the device, I get it.

The device is fully open on the inside. It appears the control circuit itself is sealed and the LED's used are resistance to moisture. Point being, if you get a ProVari wet, you have a good chance of drying it out, and have a perfectly functioning Provari again. There's no sealed off areas that can fog up if there's moisture trapped in it. It's little things like that, which you NEVER would have thought of that makes it special.

People like to call the ProVari the Cadillac of PV's and I completely disagree. It's the F-150 of PV's. There is absolutely no fluff on the device. Everything has a purpose and that purpose is to consistently vape and vape well. It's a work horse. A professional grade work horse maybe, but a work horse nonetheless.

How much are you being paid to write this?

I kid, I kid. I won't give you anymore hard times about it. You get it, now. Finally. :D

Don't get me wrong....I don't think Phil would sell out and pimp a device he didn't like. He has a great hobby/job. He literally gets his pick of the litter because EVERYONE sends him stuff. The point is, even while vaping a ZNA, he still had his ProVari.

The ZNA, though, that bad boy is a beast.....Very unique looking and super solid. About $100 more than I was ready to spend though.
