I was definitely one of the people who followed not so good advise getting a YJ 2.0. Yes it works (if I use and adapter so the pin doesnt block the airway of most of my devices), yes its VV, and yes its nice looking, but I realized fast that there is better things out there.

Yes I loaded up a cart for a Provari, but I just couldn't justify and/or decide between the full size/mini. Yes they are very durable and have a good warranty but I'm the type that has maybe dropped their cell phone once during its entire life. I'm careful with my electronics so it wasn't really that big of a deal for me. The biggest deal breaker was versatility. If the Provari came in a "one size fits all" mini with and optional 18650 cap I would have clicked buy honestly. The price isn't THAT bad when you take your health into consideration, I just wanted the best of both worlds (compact and optional stupid long battery life without buying 2 APV's) which is part of why I like my new vamo so much haha

I agree with many in this much more constructive thread lol. buy WHATEVER keeps you off smoking, you can't put a price tag on your life :D

And here we go again with another gripe session about an issue with no discussion on a possible resolution. I read another thread (recently closed by the mods) that had a very similar tone, and I knew as soon as I read the OP, it was not going to go well. This thread appears to be heading in the same direction as well.

With that said, I do very much agree that fanboyism can result in bad advice that may result in new vapers becoming overwhelmed and walking away. This isn't just the Provari fans either (disclaimer, I am a happy Provari owner), but as others have mentioned, this issue spans quite a few of the products that create a cult(ish) following.

So, the question I have is just this: how do we, as a community, curb this behavior in those threads?

If this truly is an issue in the community and it's new members, and we care about this community, then surely we should be looking to find a solution rather than just creating threads to vent and gripe about it. I'll start...

When you see a post saying "Just get a [insert popular product here] and because everything else is crap!", counter the post with a reasonable response that explains why the advice given may not be helpful. Then, reiterate the main points of the OP (or side topic post), and attempt to address the question to the best of your ability, or point them to another thread with relevant information. If we get enough people doing this, perhaps the reasonable posts will overshadow the fanboy posts and those fanboys may learn a thing or two as well.

Problem is that I use my back-up device every day ..... all five of them! (and my Provari is only one of my back-ups)
Sure do want that pretty gold one tho, so maybe I'll end up with two Provari back-ups
I want them to make a limited edition titanum one - would look sweet with the ti tanks i got.

In the end just about any PV you want to name will have it's market nitch, and some will love it while others hate it for any number of different reasons. So when it comes to suggesting a PV just like there is no right answer, there is no wrong answer. I think it's great that we have so many choices. I have long time vaping friends that think their little 808's are the cat-sas, and others that think anything other than a provari is pure junk. I think I'll just respect both opinions.

There are a lot of crap mods out there so pointing this out to someone could possibly save them some money and better yet prevent them from going back to being a smoker.
There are for sure some very usable more affordable mods available, but there is a lot of poorly made and preforming crap available also.
A lot of it really boils down to opinions why cant the provari owners post their opinion with out the haters jumping all over them and same in reverse. Why cant a non provari fan say I like this mod better than the provari because.........
I say quit looking for an argument post your thoughts and move on.
Good advice if I could remember to do it all the time;-)

There is also this most provari owners have went threw a few mods to get to a provari. Most haters have not owned a provari so really are making their analyses from speculation.
Yea a little tact is also good there's a big difference between saying ego twist sucks, your an idiot, Your part of the problem with the economy buying disposable Chinese crap!
Or Hay dude If you like ego VV style stuff check out the Joker from Vaprlife its about the same size as a 1000mah. Its also VV uses rechargeable batteries, so in the long run you will save a little money and best of all its made in the good ol' USA! I own one and its been a tough reliable little mod.
So for me it takes two to argue I dont really see as you are being natural as you think you are (What is with ProVari People...Cult'ish much?) Your title alone is accusatory so your doing what your complaining about. Just in a different way.
and that my response to your question

These same points can be made about a number of pv's and apv's out, Zen, Twist, Provari just to name a couple. When it is all said and done tho, there is no one size fits all, and we are all here for the same reason. To get away from smoking.

I can understand the enthusiasm for Provari. I don't understand people that purchase more than one. The point is to not need a back up device.

While I have always agreed with having a backup this last couple weeks has shown me just how important having a back up for your back up can be. I know a lot of people who use very high end mods, such as the wizard, the GG, and so forth. One friend for about a month now has had everything you could think of going wrong with her devices to the point if she didn't have well over 4 she would be without a vape right now. A second friend of mine has had 2 devices go down on her in the last couple weeks and is currently having to use her old ego til she gets them back.

You wouldn't back up a Provari with a second Provari, typically.

Many people back up what they use with the same device, if you like it and you can afford it why not?

Very true, while I love my big battery mods, and that is what it took for me to kick a 3 pack a day habbit, I also have friends that are very happy with their cig lookalikes and hey it works for them so who am I to tell them they need something else.

It does get irritating seeing a post asking for good input and only seeing the same pro-Provari posts. Yes I too have a Provari, but while it is one of my favs at the moment, there are others that provide the same exact performance at a lesser price. I think part of the Provari lust is perhaps just knowing you are part of a "club" perhaps. I did like the fact that the electronics in the provari are of a higher grade than the "lesser" chinese PVs. Of course, the main benefit of the provari is that when the zombie apocalypse finally does arrive, it may just well save my life when my trusty 9mm finally runs outta ammo. nothing like knocking off a zombie and then taking a nice victory vape afterwards:)

I have 2 twists, a bolt, a vmax,a udt v6, an innokin mvp, 2 lava tube knock offs, and a provari. I bought the provari as a gift to myself for being smoke free for 6 months. I love it, and I use it all the time. I also use my other mods, and I love them. There is nowhere near a "perfect" device out there, and every hot new "thing" that comes out will have it's day. I am far from a provari "cultist". The real cultists are all us vapers. I know the provari is no longer the most advanced device on the market, but it is indeed one of the best made and highest quality devices on the market. It is virtually indestructible and comes from a great company with exceptional customer service. Is it pricy? Hell yes. Is it worth it? Depending on who you talk to. For me, absolutely. I would never tell anyone that if they aren't using one, they don't know what they are missing. It is a well made variable voltage e-cig from a great manufacturing company.
What about Zen owners? Now THOSE people are "cultists"!
All I am saying is that if you're vaping ANYTHING, you should be accepted and welcomed on this forum. You wanna vape with a Blu, go for it. You wanna vape with your provari, knock yourself out. I do. And I promise you it will NOT be the last e-cig I buy...much to tje annoyance of my wife.
