I see vaping taking a big hit eventually and ECF lives as long as vaping is alive. That's why I have Nic in the freezer. If we continue to vape, nic and DIY is vital for extending our privilege.

As I have said many times, it's not that vaping is an issue for most, it's the competition created by waning tobacco tax receipts as people quit smoking. In the recent shipping ban on vaping we didn't see a ban on shipping tobacco cigarettes. Government extracts a tax on all cigarette products that contain actual shredded tobacco leaves. Just my opinion.

You're a little mistaken I believe. There's not mention of tobacco cigarette shipping changing because there is already laws in place. business to consumer shipment of cigarettes is already nearly impossible in all but very extreme circumstances. They actually kind of just put the same laws on vaping equipment that they already have on the books for cigarettes. One of the main differences being that person to person shipment of cigarettes has to be under a certain weight which is the equivalent of a carton of cigarettes and with vape devices the majority of our stuff is already overweight for that so it eliminates that option for us and they didn't modify it as of yet. But the reason why you didn't hear about cigarettes being added to this is because they already are they simply added e-cigarettes to the cigarette part of the Jenkins act

I agree. I was just commenting in retrospect. I've expected taxation on vapes for a while. They are already deemed to be tobacco products just because of the nicotine component.

The PACT act does two things ::

  • Instructs the U.S. Postal Service to create regulations prohibiting shipment of all vaping products through the U.S. Mail to residential addresses
  • Inserts vaping products into the Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking (PACT) Act. (The PACT Act is an amendment to the older federal Jenkins Act)
The Preventing Online Sales of E-Cigarettes to Children Act covers a much wider range of products than the FDA’s Deeming Rule, and is unrelated to the FDA’s tobacco and vaping regulations. The definition of products covered by the law is so broad that it captures not just nicotine vaping devices and e-liquid, but anything that can be used to vape any liquid- or oil-based substance (and the substances themselves).

Federal Register :: Treatment of E-Cigarettes in the Mail

in addition, the most onerous area is compliance ::

Online retailers will be required to:
  • Verify age of customers using a commercially available database
  • Use private shipping services that collect an adult signature at the point of delivery
  • Register with the ATF and the U.S. Attorney General
  • Register with state and local tax administrators in all states and localities where business is done
  • Collect and pay all applicable local and state taxes, and affix any required tax stamps to the products sold
  • Each month, a list of all transactions must be sent to each state’s tax administrator that includes the names and addresses of each customer sold to, the quantities and type of each product sold, and the name, address, and phone number of the person delivering the shipment to the recipient

There will always be a way. The cat got out of the bag a long time ago.
Any kid can make a PV or atomizer in shop class, and so can we!
We were posting about extracting our own nicotine right here on ECF years ago.
    So what's the problem?!?

I will turn 80 this year. Guess then I'll be on the "any day now" list, and then there won't be a tj to have to worry about it anymore.

But, I can still wrap my own coils, and DIY my own juice.

Has anybody heard real news about a final cutoff date for USPS? Will we get some sort of warning?

Originally the date was April 26, but USPS, UPS, DHL is now saying April 5 and FedEx stopped March 1. (I think I have that right) Mike is getting notices from vendors saying they're cutting off mailing orders by the end of March, and some are even cutting off even earlier, like 3/26.

I imagine some of us will look... pretty much the same.

    Gracefully aged Vapers.

    Like so...

Personally I believe ECF will go back to its roots more like it was in the early days. Talented, knowledgeable and experienced people sharing ideas and information while brainstorming solutions to problems of the day. There is power in collective thinking and cooperative effort. Example; Although Ahlusion stopped selling its juice online you can still enjoy some of your favorites by purchasing one shot flavorings at The Fox Trove on Etsy. I never would have known that if not for ECF.....
