Im just curious why you started vaping?

I for one, personally LOVED smoking. Sadly I have admit, I smoked for over 15 years. It was to be cool when i was a kid, it was a stress relief as I got older, and when I worked, it was a great excuse to get the hell away from my desk and co-workers who were driving me up the wall!

Then I had my kids. I actually WANTED to quit smoking, because I wanted to stick around and watch my kids grow up - and I didn't want them to start smoking someday themselves.
But STILL it was so hard to quit. I missed the deep breath of that drag.....the hand to mouth motion....that big sigh as I exhaled, and blew my smoke out.

But every single day, I would look at those beautiful faces. The ones I created. The ones I loved more that I ever thought I could love anything in the whole wide world.
Then the years of smoking, and age started catching up with me. I was coughing. I exercise like I wanted to. I would wake up wheezing. And then the prices of cigs kept going up and up and up.

I tried the other e-cigs that you paid an arm and a leg for at the mall - that didnt work. But then my husband (a 1 1/2 - 2 pack a day smoker) started vaping, and didnt touch a cig. I was impressed.

And again, my kids. My health. Thats why I started vaping. Best thing I did for ME in 2012. (And if you're a mom or even a parent...you know that if something benefits YOU - it benefits your kids/family also)

Cause you need good lungs to breath and stuff. and cause cigarettes stink like ..., and cause I'm tired of burning holes in my clothes and car seats, and cause cigarettes cost to much, and cause ....................

I loved smoking.I started at 13 and in those years smoked 1 to 2 packs a day depending on the day. I had tried many times over the last 22 years. Tried to stop when I had a kid.... tried tried tried. I am addicted to nicotine bad and get weepy and cry for no reason when i stop smoking. So even though this year I realized walking up the hill to pick up my child from school would leave me feeling unable to get enough oxygen I still had was not going to quit. My husband said he could quit anytime but could not if i was still smoking (yeah right)

Had tried electric cigarettes a few years back and was not impressed.

I went on vacation in November, my first time ever out of the country and meet a couple who had Lava Tubes and they let me try it.

Very nice. So i started doing research when I got home and found this forum, read a lot and bought an ego T kit. It got here on 12/15/12 and that was the day I last had a cigarette in the morning. My husband got his eGo T on 12/23/12 and switched from regular cigarettes as well.

I can smell things! its crazy
and today everything tastes amazing!
Best part is my daughter who is just now 8 says i dont stink anymore. I did not know i did stink, i could not smell anything i guess. And wow, alot of stuff smells really bad :(

I'd been smoking for 15 years and was completely sick of it for 5 but somehow never managed to convince myself I was a non-smoker and actually give it up. Failed at cold turkey. Failed with the patch. Failed with the gum, twice.

I saw ecigs a couple years ago but thought they were WAY above my budget. 6 months ago I found a subreddit devoted to ecigs and found a setup I could afford ... now I'm still having to watch my budget to avoid buying every shiny new toy on the market, but I smell better, am enjoying food more and am actually working out regularly for the first time in 5 years.

I got a new car! Well, it was used, but still new to me. Its in such good shape, both inside and out, that I had vowed not to smoke in it.

I quickly became tired of considering pulling over every 20 minutes to have a smoke, or worse, breaking my vow to keep it smoke free, so I decided to grab one of those Blu kits to use while driving. I loved it so much that I completely walked away from the analogs.

It wasn't that long ago actually (since Dec, 6 2012) but its the longest ive gone without smoking in 29 years and I have no intention of picking it up again.

Thank god the Blu's were so easy to find and try out to get me started, but I got my hands on and Ego-C Upgrade kit as soon as I could. Looking into getting either an Evic or Vamo in the near future as well. And WoW! The rainbow of flavors available to try is just crazy. Always something new to try out, both in flavor and gadgetry.

One very happy new Vaper here :)

I started just to reduce the amount of smoking that I was doing (2 pk. a day). I love to smoke, but 20 years of it is taking its toll in more ways than one. I continued to smoke for about a week, but I started to prefer a good vape over a smoke. I haven't taken a single puff off of a cigarette in about a month now. I wasn't initially trying to quit, it just kinda happened.

I started vaping near the end for my 4th day off cigarettes. I was using nicotine patches but was ready to go buy a packet of smokes. I drove to a corner store and bought the only ecig they had. I had been a heavy smoker, smoking 40-50 a day, and I had smoked for over 30 years. The ecig worked - I had somehow known that it would. It was just as well because I had a sensitivity to the nicotine patches and had to stop using them.
The ecig was very small and I had to recharge it after about 30 mins.
I bought some better but pricey ecigs and vaped those for a while. Tired of paying through the nose, I did some research and bought some Volts. Those were great and affordable.
My health had been affected by smoking, and after 8 months of not smoking I can breathe easier, feel better, can taste and smell flavors - and there's no smell of stale cigarettes in the house, car, or on my clothes.
I took up vaping in desperation to stay of cigs - and it worked.
Hello Kiwi, got to ask, come over your place every year and normally stock up with pipe baccy in Singapore but having given up the weed, is there a decent supply of juices in the Christchurch area? Ta

I knew I couldn't quit...I never tried as of late and knew cigarettes would kill me but that was just what would nappen. I saw a guy at an art show use an e cig and was interested...not to quit but to use with smoking....I ordered one Kgo and haven't smoked in a month. That is a true miracle for I never ever planned to quit cause I knew I couldn't.

Great thread. I had quit several times but always went back. It wasn't until my nephew was born and my sister said she didn't want the baby around me if I was going to smell like smoke. That was the last straw for me so I started to do a bunch of research and while I waited for my volt to come in the mail I bought a gas station ecig and it's been since 10/8/11 and I've never looked back.

I started so I'd be able to smoke in the house and in the office without feeling bad. I love smoking; always have. The second reason was because as I get older it's becoming increasingly apparent that I actually would like to see the age of 60, and not need an oxygen tank to do so.

Stopping analogs wasn't even a conscious thought. I went out and got my eGo kit, filled it up, and haven't had an analog since.
