Why is it that those who are set on buying clones/counterfeits need so many? Does it take buying something every week or month to stay off cigarettes? I pretty much just buy e-liquid and cartos. Are the clones/counterfeits so bad they wear out constantly and need replacing?

I recently saw a counterfeit and genuine kayfun 4. I knew the difference immediately; just by look and feel of the metal, then when I saw the individual parts it was glaringly obvious which was well machined and which wasn't. Could be that I work in manufacturing...

personally, i buy clones because i can afford more and the money goes a longer way. I want to try different things. Its either buy a bunch of something or pay the same price for 1 authentic and be stuck with that 1 til u can save the money up again to buy another authentic.

Maybe you constantly need to buy more and try more because they don't function quite like ones which are precisely milled. From what I have seen, airflow and pressure have a lot to do with how attys work...

im not having to constantly buy more. They are all satisfying vapes, i dont need to buy more, I allow myself to buy more due to saving money buying clones. The functionality of a piece of steel with holes compared to another piece of steel with holes is not as huge as you make it out to be. Its a deck and a cap with airflow holes.

#1 i can put a coil in it
#2 it fits on my mods
#3 I can vape it

i highly doubt that x vs y will perform noticeably better just due to the fact that is better milled. Either that or I am not as much of a purist vaper as you are and can notice the slight differences. Either way if I am ignorant and cant tell the difference, what justification would I have still to buy an authentic over a clone if I personally cant tell the difference?

This authentic can hold 4.5ml over the 4.4 unprecisely milled clone, or this center post is 0.3ml too long or too far from the negative posts, the topcap is 3mm to high compared to the clone. All those STILL are not worth 75$ more over a clone IMO.

Right now I use a Kick in my mech, and for the mech I just ordered, I also ordered a Kick... but the mechs would still work, even if/when the Kicks finally die. And oh yeah, both of my mechs, and both of my Kicks, are clones -- the Kicks are Smok, because the eVolv ones are ridiculously expensive, and I don't need more than 15w anyway. The mods are a Fallen Angel, and just ordered the Smok Galileo. And a few days ago, I ordered the amgaM clone of the Magma, by Tobeco. I don't need logos, but I do need hardware that works well for a price I
can afford.

And if, GOD FORBID, there was ever one of those EMP things... the mechs would still work. :D

Andria

I'm sorry Andria if you get offended by me but for someone who keeps mentioning that you can't afford anything you sure do a lot of ordering. I hope you don't take offense. I'm just curious about how much hardware one really needs?

So it really is just about collecting...

You'd be surprised. I tried the counterfeit Kayfun 4 and the real one, both with a coil/wick made by an expert at a high end vape shop...

So Cal
You can think that if you want to, I don't object. I'm not the one with an axe to grind; I buy what I can afford -- it's available, I need it, I can afford it, so I buy it. Whatever conspiracy you want to believe in, go right ahead, I don't mind a bit.

Andria

Now we've moved into conspiracy? What conspiracy? The one you where you and others participate in and legitimizes the clone/counterfeit market?

I agree with you that many designer/popular/"you gotta have this" attys are grossly overpriced, so I choose to not buy them... or their copies/clones/counterfeits!

Are there really no authentic attys in that same price range your buying the copies? I haven't found that to be the case at all! E.g. - The Mutant X, Doge Competition, or Wotofo Freakshow are all under $30 and have good reputations.

I still stand by my opinion that there is no reason to knowingly buy a clone... except to pretend to own or be something your not. There are plenty of authentic options out there at reasonable prices! Personally, I refuse to be a poser!

its not about collecting lol. It's about going further with the money you have, which is the reason why I went back and support the original designers of the Mutation X, the clone I bought was very good and the authentic was reasonably priced so i went back and bought them. I still use the clones over the authentics because the clones have better design than the authentic. But I have the authentics either way to try out because the clones were good and I thought the authentics would be better, they werent.

You should have been around for the last mech she purchased. Hemmed and hawed for quite some time, asking a bunch of questions and opinions. I don't think she orders as much as you think :p. In fact, I believe all she used for quite some time was an itaste vv v3 (it was that thread I first encountered her in).

i doubt lots of people are running around claiming their clones are authentics. I dont get the whole 'refusing to be a poser' deal youre coming here with. If you dont see why people buy clones yet other than your whole high-horsed 'they are just pretending to be something they are not' deal then you will never get it. Why buy non overpriced OEM parts for your car when it needs replacement. Why buy kroger brand of food when you can buy higher namebrand food. Why drink tap water when you can buy namebrand bottled water.

there isn't any need to buy anything. but if you buy things to represent yourself like you indicated about... i hope you get better soon. i don't need products i buy to let me know who I am.

I see far more "posers" with authentics. People who want to impress, yet truly can't afford them (affording means more then how much is in your wallet at the time).
Are their cheaper authentics? Of course. That doesn't mean we will like their designs.

Don't forget the performance aspect, Design and R&D are stolen just as well.

like i said, i dont need all of them. This is a hobby for me, i enjoy trying new things. I'm not going to buy a 100$ atty then wait a month or two til i can budget enough to buy another authentic atty. Go ask that guy who rents a house why he just doesnt save enough money to buy a house. His budget doesnt allow him to do what he wants to do. Im not going to be happy with just one authentic atomizer for 3 months, thats my problem not yours dont judge me on my decisions. I dont judge why you want to buy authentics? I am just explaining why I dont, if you cant understand it then thats your problem as well, It's not going to change me from doing what im doing and being happy with it.

um actually i own 3 mods (4 if you count my poor broken TECs) which aren't clones unless you consider the ego bought from altsmoke a clone.....I own 5 "authentic" atties/tanks and 5 cloned atties/tanks....
Like Andria, I couldn't afford to smoke....$5 for a 12 pack of cloves at about a pack a day.....meant that I didn't eat....we ate ramen noodles most nights...so no, I don't pay $20 for tanks....most everything I bought was on seriously deep discounts or coop so that I could afford my vape gear or was piffed to me otherwise I'd not be able to afford to vape......

Perhaps quitting altogether would be the best option and save the most money...
