Kids here? It's illegal for them to vape! LOL!

I tries explaining that to the mod that deleted my avatar (pic of the FUHatten box).
I was told this is a "family oriented site".
I shook my head as I looked at pics of mods with naked boobies engraved on them.
They're weren't fake ones so I guess they were within TOU.

I have to add:
Anyone that dislikes boobs, fake or not should have their pulse checked.
Who doesn't like boobs? Seriously ...
Never met an actual person male or female that didn't like boobs fake or not.

Ok, so I'll sum it up

Clones are ok as long as they don't have the logo, from what I gather is the general ring to it all.
Some clones work better then the original, some original's work better then clones but there is def. the price difference.
Mod makers aren't making anything because of competition or possible clones coming out ( Idea, did you ever think to possibly sell your cad drawings to china for some serious $$ and that way it stays original?)
Everyone who vapes doesn't have loads of money to throw around, this is funding the clone market (um, sure I guess we can go with that).
Some buy the clone first to "Test the waters" (I can see that, and besides its just smart money management to do that).
The blue screwdriver cult is alive and kicking (yah, no one said that in here, had to add it).

So, yah the breakdown of it all, like I've mentioned before that your not going to impress me waving around a 200$ or more mod, I'm not really going to care in truth, now say that it got you off the cigs and is keeping you off them and I'll care about that. As for innovations I hate to say it but you can only innovate a tube so much, its still going to be round and still is going to look like a mutated flashlight with a highly modified switch assembly. Lets get back down to earth here and realize that everything is a copy of something and though some may not admit it the first "Authentic" mods were the guys going to the hardware store to figure out something better then what was available.

Its funny that we've lost touch of that, I see more value in someone taking something average and making it exceptional then waiting for someone to pop out a design on the market. Yah some clones need work, they need this or that filed or drilled but the neat thing is you can make it your atomizer or mod at that point. No one is going to have your atomizer with your airflow and your set up ever, there is no copies of it and you hold the original at that point. I came from the world where drilling and filing was a normal thing, top caps had to be modified and more often then not I was sourcing springs and washers from hobby shops to make tool less wire captures for the atomizers. There is one thing that most of my clones have that the originals don't, that is my mark of pride from modifying them to something unique and different. There are several clones that I've got that you'll never find anywhere, they don't sell them and no one has them. Just a thought on that one.

I consider cloning tio be theft. Since China has the know how and capability to mass produce all these clones at a price point everyone is happy with, why don't they just design and create their own products, maintain the price point and make everybody happy. Kangertech did it, why can't the rest follow suit? I agree with a lot of you that the technology is simple and all mods and atomizers pretty much function the same way. The China guys can just take their cue from the same technology and create their own designs. It shouldn't be that hard to do.

I think everybody is happy already. People who like the quality and price point of China products are pleased with the plethora of great vaping devices that can be found. Some China manufacturers make their own products too (such as A-Mod or EHpro), which are also priced competitively.

And people who believe in some sort of practice of boycotting what they believe to be unethical (as if it would actually change anything), don't have to buy from the vast selection, they can hunt down the limited quantity expensive items if they like and also be happy.

They live off the name, reputation and design of others, which is why they sell the counterfeit as a Kayfun clone... What's worse is I think many vapers don't know the difference...

what really going on is... "i just spent $200 for this metal tube, and this guy next to me has the exact same thing for $20.. and that thing works just fine! i'm not happy.. those fake should not be allowed. where is my bragging right when people are saying i'm dumb for paying same thing that cost ten times more... i feel like sucking thumb.. mommy?".

then there are others who feel that "who gives rats axx. it's all good.. that guy quitted smoking.".

Some of actually know the difference... What is amusing is the pro theft crowd is so hung up on money. $200 is a couple cartons of cigarettes, and merely pocket change to the elitists, as they call those who don't participate in the theft... It isn't those who choose to buy non counterfeited goods who are complaining they cost too much; it is those who buy the counterfeits who are. Your counterfeits could be free and I woukdnt want them...

I wonder what would happen if China and all the clone manufacturers just stopped cranking out vaping products altogether. The local and online retailers sold out of what they had and that was it. Suddenly, if you wanted a nicely engraved metal tube, you would have to budget a couple hundred dollars for it and possibly start saving money.... or make your own.

Does anyone think that this would be good for the current vaping community? Would it be good for possible future vapers?

I think it would be the imminent demise of the whole industry.

It would kill vaping as a pastime. Right now consumers have lots of choices. Taking away those choices severely limits the market for quality vaping products. Except for the enthusiast collectors, the majority of current vapers would look for something else, possibly even go back to smoking cigarettes. The vaping population would diminish. The now constant influx of new vaping paraphernalia would slow. Dwindling demand would stifle new innovation. Less people would share our experiences and less people would be around as advocates for vaping. Government regulators would have less challenge and taxes, bans, public restrictions would flourish.

Thankfully, we don't have to deal with the end of times anytime soon, though. China is, by far, the leader in produced product for the world's vapers. And they aren't going away. The proliferation of the vaping community relies on it.
