Ok I just transferred it to a glass bottle for storage purposes. It does have a distinct smell-- perhaps as Todd Sweeney mentioned from the organic extraction process. It has gone into my freezer for now until I get to that bottle and hear more about the taste. I've got 100 mg in 100 % PG. Any other input from someone who ordered the same would be appreciated at any point. PM if you like.

PS: Upon transference, the color was very light colored almost clear just like I would expect on a sealed bottle.

Did you contact the vendor about it? I am sure he would take care of the matter if you were that unhappy with it. What strength nic was it? I haven't heard anyone mention a peppery smell yet. How did it taste?

I am using another vendors 100 mg., just made a bottle and it is also at this point, amber in color after 6 weeks in my fridge opened 4 times. They all go amber or some variation thereof after its exposed to oxygen several times. The higher the nic strength the faster it goes amber I believe and that goes for anyone's nicotine base. If it stays cystal clear they put something in it to keep it that way and that something is not so good from what i have read previously so its not a desirable chemical in a vape.

No, I am talking about reviews from WL. In this thread and others. Never bought from WL. Why would I change when I read iffy reviews and was already getting a good price and great value.

As you said. They all turn amber after it is exposed to oxygen "several" times. When I read threads stating that it made me wonder just how long or how much care WL was taking if it was being received amber in color when first received. I am no expert in this category, but I have developed a routine to reduce the oxygen and other exposure with my nic.

I order 250ml of 60mg at a time. When I receive it I break it down to 30ml bottles and freeze them. When it is time to produce another mix. I pull a bottle out and mix a months supply at a time. Two exposures max.

Maybe I am being over cautious, but it is my way.

Maybe im just ignorant on the subject but is this not made from a plant? That would mean its exposed to the air a lot more then two times. School me as to how you worry about a liquid from a plant being exposed to air.

Pure distilled water for example is made from, yup, you guessed it, Water.
Open it and it absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere.
Whoops, ain't pure no more.

Highly purified chemicals from recycled plastic or dead plants are contaminated as soon as you exposed them to the air (which has also been exposed to acid rain for years :)).

Most purified, Reagent Grade chemicals are also blanketed while being processed/packaged with an inert gas like Nitrogen or Argon. Until you open the bottle.

A plant being exposed to air and the nicotine extracted from the plant being exposed to air is not the same thing.

Exposing nicotine to air speeds up the aging process - the more air the faster it ages and goes bad (it will turn really dark brown if left opened and exposed to light). Nic stored in a freezer unexposed to air slows the aging process. It has been quoted on ECF that the shelf life of nic is approximately 2 years (maybe more if exposure to air and light is extremely limited - combined with the freezer temperatures). If you do not care about this with the nic you are vaping then do not worry about it. I am not sure of the chemical changes that occur as it ages and I really do not want to find out through vaping it...

Received my order from WL on Friday. 60 mg nic in 70/30 PG/VG. Packed in dark amber plastic bottle. I haven't opened it yet, so I can't report on the color or odor. I am still using up my last nic base 36 mg which is still colorless & odorless & has been stored in the fridge. Got a great note from the owner & a few extras. I will continue to use WL as my main supplier. Couldn't be happier.

Because I was unsure about optimal storage temps, I asked the owner about storing in the fridge or freezer & he said both were good. Then we got into a discussion about nic base & color. He said -"Although bacterial growth in nicotine solutions is highly unlikely, cold storage would slow down the growth of any bacteria and/or spoilage.
Oxidation may also be slowed somewhat by cold storage, but unless the solution is left open to the air, all of the observational experiments I've conducted over the last few months have shown that most color changes occur due to the reaction between trace tobacco compounds left behind from extraction and the PG or VG itself, even when the available oxygen is replaced with inert nitrogen or argon gas."
I found this info very interesting.

He also said that extractions have been done to remove all of the trace tobacco compounds (WTA) to gain "colorless", BUT the nic base loses it's "kick" (hit). So the question is - would you rather have colorless or "kick"?

My vote would be - KICK

I have noticed shaking your bottle of mix introduces bubbles to the mix which I would think overexposes the mix to the air and speeds the oxidization process. Keeping your bottle sealed the way the supplier sends it to you would certainly lead me to believe storing as recieved would ensure longer storage. Of the stuff I have gotten from WL I haven't noticed any peppery taste or odor. I say if you are happy with your current supplier then stay with what works. No need to fix what isn't broken. However if you are new or looking for a new supplier then you can't go wrong with these guys. Most things come down to the experience gained from the situation and how that will effect your future purchases. Hopefully everyone finds a supplier who makes them want to come back again and again whoever it is.

Too true. Only so many in this industry are great people. I like to spread it around and buy from different people but sometimes money is too tight for that. First order of DIY was bought from three places. All 3 of them are amazing. Ive bought from 2 more suppliers since and still, the story is the same. Wonderful people that go above and beyond that are willing to help no matter how stupid a question I ask.

I've been vaping for a few years, following this forum...but only recently signed up for an account here. However, for what it's worth...here's my review. I received my nic sample from John at Wizard Labs, this is about my dozenth time ordering nic from 5 different suppliers. I received the 100mg in the 100% PG base. Slight amberish color to the nic, very faint organic odor. I mixed up three of my flavors and have experienced a smooth clean vape. There's a tad more of a bite, but not peppery...just a slight bite, therefore it increases the throat hit ever so slightly. This is a good quality nic base, and I'm happy with John being my go-to-man for my nic base. Great packaging, good customer service, good quality and a good guy just to shoot the breeze with. Highly Recommended.

Received another order from Wizard last week & I can't say enough good things about the customer service & John. My stuff went coast to coast in 4 days, everything double-bubbled, wrapped to the hilt (with some freebies, too.) I wanted to include something I forgot when I ordered, emailed John & the item was included with a personal note. :)
Tonight I emailed John with some questions about nic bases & WTA's & he replied within the hour. He is very knowledgeable & is my ejuice-opaedia about anything lab related.

I'm almost finished with my rts nic, and I can't wait to break into the wizard bottle I've had in the fridge for a month now. Nothing wrong with the rts from what I could tell, but I like what I've heard about wizard, and I like that it is organic.

I'll test the wizard and the rts side-by-side (they're both 100mg) in plain vg (no flavor) at 18mg and compare flavor and whatnot, then post results here.

Just to put this out here. I noticed with my DIY that it only made about a third of the vapor that I have been seeing from juice premixed from various vendors. I was given a pay it forward with 8 diff flavors from diff vendors, and it all produces much thicker clouds. Being new to the DIY, I am not sure if its the base nic or something else. I have a 60ml bottle of wizards 100mg in the fridge also in the bubble wrap, that I changed from 70/30vg to 60/40vg. Wonder if that will help.

Yes, adding more vg will make more voluminous vapor. I do 100% vg, though I'm thinking about picking up some pg to get more throat hit. With my diy I get crazy amounts of vapor but, like I said, the throat hit is lacking for me. Congrats on the pay it forward, I'm not quite sure I know what that is.

Thanks striker, I'll check it out.

Also, I'll do the comparison tomorrow and post initial impressions here. Then I'll steep them both for 2 weeks and see what if anything changes.
No Prob. Ill be on the lookout for your findings also. Thanks.

For the prices i cant help myself I just oredered 250ml 60mg and a a few other stuff I cant wait to try it it will be my 2nd try at diy stuff :)ya im new :vapor:
You must plan on using a lot of juice. Maybe u share with a couple people. I gave away around 40% of my first bottle that was only 60ml and it still lasted about 5 weeks.

As.far as vapor and th, I mix my juice 50/50 and seems to give enough of.both.
