Received my order from WL on Friday. 60 mg nic in 70/30 PG/VG. Packed in dark amber plastic bottle. I haven't opened it yet, so I can't report on the color or odor. I am still using up my last nic base 36 mg which is still colorless & odorless & has been stored in the fridge. Got a great note from the owner & a few extras. I will continue to use WL as my main supplier. Couldn't be happier.
Because I was unsure about optimal storage temps, I asked the owner about storing in the fridge or freezer & he said both were good. Then we got into a discussion about nic base & color. He said -"Although bacterial growth in nicotine solutions is highly unlikely, cold storage would slow down the growth of any bacteria and/or spoilage.
Oxidation may also be slowed somewhat by cold storage, but unless the solution is left open to the air, all of the observational experiments I've conducted over the last few months have shown that most color changes occur due to the reaction between trace tobacco compounds left behind from extraction and the PG or VG itself, even when the available oxygen is replaced with inert nitrogen or argon gas." I found this info very interesting.
He also said that extractions have been done to remove all of the trace tobacco compounds (WTA) to gain "colorless", BUT the nic base loses it's "kick" (hit). So the question is - would you rather have colorless or "kick"?
My vote would be - KICK
