I've never served on a jury. I've been called 3 times, I think, but only once since I moved to NC 27 years ago. I was struck by the defense because I was friends with the detective who investigated the murder case, and he had told me some things about it.

2 years ago, my sentence for DUI included 48 hours of community service. I performed it by attending county court sessions, and found it a rewarding experience.

By the way, I was really worried that everyone would agree with me about Tom Hanks. Not.

What an eloquent looking PV!

What was really kind of remarkable was to sit through Bridge of Spys, really enjoy it and ...
  • no car chases
  • no special effects of things blowing up
  • no gun shoot-outs
  • no fist fists
  • no cgi effects

ya shoulda sued em! Yanno, you wuz already in court anyhow!
Speaking of litigious matters:

A lawyer's office and the lawyer's daughter's residence were both on my mail route for many years. One day I asked Susan, the daughter: "were you named Sue because your daddy is lawyer?"

Susan suppressed her amusement so well that you'd swear she didn't think my question was funny. That was my definite impression of her reaction, anyway.

When the movie War Of The Roses came out, I went to see it. Danny DeVito played a divorce lawyer in the movie, and I enjoyed the lawyer jokes that he delivered. So one day I'm telling those jokes to a coworker. I ask: "What do you call a pile of 1000 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?" The answer is supposed to be "a heck of a good start" but my coworker said "the great barrister reef" and all I could say was "that's better than what I had".

Bells, that variant on the joke would play better in Australia.
I'll have to remember to try it out next time I go to Oz. Oh, I've also got to remember to bring a pumpkin pie for @Wolfenstark. Probably take me all afternoon to get there, considering I'll have to use one arm to hold the pie up out of the water.

Found this heavy cast iron ashtray. Sure wish dad had seen it before. I'm guessing my mom (who was the chain smoker) thought it was cute. Here is the underside. . .

I may have inherited my weird sense of humor from her. Even though it has been 11 and a half years (11 yrs 6 mo and 18 days to be exact, yes I have an app on my phone that keeps up with all the important dates to me), I wish my mom was still with me. I just know I could have got her addicted to vaping.

Somebody is in a nostalgic mood! Or it could just be hormonal. . .

Hi Dave.
13 hour flight from East coast OZ to LA and 15 hour flight back. Being on the East coast of USA you would probably go the other way but that will also be long. I looked a few times and usually a 10 - 11 hour flight NY to Singapore or Dubai then to OZ.

Oh you've been here , I jumped ahead. Being a tall guy you probably don't get that comfortable in the seats for that long. I just scooch down and put my legs as far under the seat in front as I can.

What the hell is the FDA up to now. Should I be stocking up again?
I am. Ordering another liter of 100mg nic today. That should hold me gives me two liters in the freezer and one I'm tapping. Need to order some flavors too. From what I understand they're going to fool with that too. Problem is I don't know what flavors to order. I wish I could see a list of flavors in order of the percentage they are used in different flavor combinations. In other words, how many different recipes can you make with a basic kit of these flavors. I don't want nor can I afford to have a cabinet full of flavors I'll never us.

Love the pup pics! I have to reduce some of my recent pics of Tasha and Geordi and post one. Class went well, just need more practice with exams.

I posted on the front porch that G's breeder got a 30 watt Segelei mini and and Aspire Atlantis tank, running .4 ohm coils! Why these B&Ms start new vapers sub ohming I don't know. Also sold her 6 mg juice for the Atlantis. I gave her some 18mg juice I bought her in a flavor I had given her to try that she liked. I told her to keep some in one of the H2 clearos I gave her on one of the VV Egos or VV3s I also gave her for those high stress times she needs a stronger NIC hit.
All in all, very glad she is committing to vaping. I may be mixing juice for us both if the regs hit hard.
If she's using a variable wattage device it's not really sub ohming in the sense that it's real dangerous. Sub Ohming with a mechanical or non regulated device is dangerous. So that's not a bad setup. Plus 30 watts is kind of weak for a .4 ohm coil.
