Hahahaha - I have apologized for my typing skills many times over and I know you were pointing at me... :pervy::D:lol: I will take the blame for everyone else...
I know for a fact that these dark sunglasses I'm wearing make it impossible for anyone to know the precise direction of my gaze.

I agree with the grammar police; it bugs me too. But I try to just read through it and not develop a preconceived opinionof the person. Some people with English not their native language are totally forgiven.

Then there are typos and autocorrect..
I thought that autocorrect would notice if a person inadvertently omitted the space between, let's say (hypothetically of course), the words "opinion" and "of". Obviously not. I'm going to my room now.

On a serious note - while I really do not care about proper grammar in a post, email, or whatever (they are normally just quick responses) - If it is a so called professional document, book that has been written for public readers, or for profit - I do expect a greater command of the language that it is being written in.

OMG, Omg! How do you survive reading these threads if you notice minor spelling and grammar errors? Same way I do, I guess. Hear and here, their and there, perpetual use of an apostrophe when no apostrophe is called for.
Expectations are different here. In fact, lots of times I get sloppy myself. I enjoy writing sloppy. OTOh, sometimes I post, and see a minor error, and go back to correct it. In chat, I just hit return, knowing that somehow it can be understood.

Can anyone tell me how to delete a conversation? I just discovered that a conversation can show up in a search ... I need to delete a couple and can't see how to do it :(

It seems that conversations that you have had with others can be seen in forum searches, but only by you and the person that you had the conversation with. Here is the reply that was given to our questions.

PM's are now called conversations. Different name for the same thing really, but they work a bit differently, as you've seen. They are basically private threads between you and one or more other persons. When you leave a conversation and tick the option to not be notified of further replies, then that is effectively deleted from your inbox. Yes, that person can message you again on a new conversation, unless you ignore them through your preferences. If you leave the conversation and tick the box to be notified upon further replies, then it is deleted until (if) the other party/parties reply again, then it's back. As for searches, you can only search the conversations in which you are involved; you cannot see others conversations, nor can anyone else see yours (again, unless they are part of the conversation, naturally). Conversations are still private between you and the person(s) you are conversing with.

Hope this helps! :)

That's good news indeed Semi-. I was following the 'thread' over there watching for the answer. 99% of my PMs carried over to Converstations I didn't really care if it was public searchable - but a couple-few not so much.

How in the world DO you PM somebody? I've been looking and can't seem to figure it out.

PMs are now called Conversations. You can click on someone's name and in the box that pops up, there's a link to 'Start a Conversation with them'. Or go to the top of page - highlight Inbox and click on Conversations. You can start one from there too.

It is in the upper right corner. Above the search box. If you have enlarged your print, like I have, it is in the middle of that area. In my case, I move the cursor up there, and a red bar appears. I click on that, and it opens.
Profile is to the left of that, and alerts is to the right of conversations.

Let me do a little confession this morning. When I first came to ECF, I came here on the recommendation of one of they guys that I work with. I wanted and needed all the information I could gather about vaping. I read like I was crazy.

Then I discovered the porches!! Wow! What a great group of people!! I've learned so much AND just found a super bunch of people. There's so much on my heart this morning, and now words seem to elude me, but I thank each and every one of you for being you and enriching my life!

Quite so, many of the members are not USAnians. If the language is really garbled, I try to remember to look at their location.

And the ones from Ga. should be forgiven also. Us country bound hill folk have our own language. :D

Yup, they're not USAnians :)

Ok. Not quoting this time, but....

Did you know that if you are in the hangout, you don't HAVE to speak out loud?
You can see each other (if the camera is on) and type in the chat box. That way you don't disturbe people.

I understand Deb's issues with her current living situation. Lots of hobbies, but being polite means that you don't clutter up someone else's home.

And, finally.. I also want to thank everyone for the porches. I have learned things and shared information. It's one of the few places I spend my online time with, so..

Good morning Good Folks,

I don't have to work until 2 this afternoon, so been playing this morning. :)

Some of y'all will remember back when I was refurbing my grandma's 1936 Singer? Well, I got it cleaned, oiled and adjusted, new belts, bought some heavy duty needles and thread for it, patched a few things... and promptly lost interest for a time.

My plan for the venerable old Singer is to design and make pouches, holsters, and outdoor accessories for use either on a belt or MOLLE/PALS vests.

To get me started, I slightly modded an old holster by sewing some extra velcro in the flap so it'll hold my PV in better.

This one was a cell phone holster from back in the "flip phone" days (click the thumbnails for larger image):

DSC_2474.JPG DSC_2475.JPG DSC_2483-001.JPG

When I started on the Singer, it had some old red thread in it so that's what I played with first... figured that's likely the last thing Grandma Ruth sewed with. That led to me deciding to make red thread my "signature"... since I'll be sewing primarily black or dark colored 1000 denier cordura, and red makes a good complement/contrast. So I bought some 100 and 110 needles and a large spool of red #69 nylon thread.

Next, I want to design and make a PV holster from scratch. I have some cut-off blue jeans legs I'm thinking real hard about.

Awww, I thought you were going to tell us that you were going to mod it. Should be able to generate some heavy clouds with one of those... :D

I posted this before, but thought I would again in case anyone was interested. I just won a 50.00 coupon for juice, and they want more folks to try, they'll be giving away 50.00 each week if you use their banner and post here. Banner Contest | Page 2 | E-Cigarette Forum I'm not affiliated with them, just go on some of their threads, and play in some of their contests.
Can't seem to get banner to update. I do some book covers on Photoshop and Illustrator and have friends who do also. This might be something I could try. :D
