Dan did a video on making one. You cut the mesh on the bias, roll the wick on a paper clip and bend the clip and mesh to an open U. pull the clip and continue forming your U.I'm sure that someone has covered this or maybe even posted a video, but i can't find it. I'm trying to make a U shaped wick with 400 mesh, and every time I try to bed the wick, it either wrinkles or kinks. This is driving me crazy, and help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Same as you would with 400....Can a u wick be made with 500 mesh
The weirdest thing happened today. I made a 500 wick at 130 mm. Followed Emonty's advice by not rolling with a paperclip. Followed BJ's advise by making a spiral. Damn thing looks like a rocket ! Put it all together and the wicking was terrible. I removed the fill screw, but no fluid escapes even if I turn it upside down. Now it wicks like it never had before. I liked the fill cap in before, because I was having overwicking problems. But this setup is nuts!! Best damn vape to date for me!
I know I read it somewhere in this mega thread. Could someone give me the recommended dimensions to cut the mesh for use in a DuD off hand?
I pointed the rocket into the pond of deliciousness. I don't know the size of the DID wick hole, but I'm willing to bet it's close to 3.5 mm.same herethrew away the tooth picks & removed all fill screws -- the 500 is wicking like a champ!
thanks again BJ & all who shared their knowlege!

BTW I have a tight grip. I sling lumber all day, and play guitar at night. LOL
I'm very happy that my DID is running so well now with this 500. I would of never figured it out.LOL so in another word Jimi -- you got "emonty fingers"![]()
yup, I believe you're right -- all DIDs(w/ the exception of the mini)have a 3.5mm wick hole -- thus allowing the fattest wick

Just wondered if someone could put a spreadsheet together giving mesh length and width per model please ?
If I get time I will get something together on Google Docs tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow will be a quiet day at work.

Looking for the HellFire Mega as well if possible, Monty know you have a couple of these ?
As for metric ? Easy but then I am European. Being a Brit miles is not surprisingly easier than kilometers though but base 10 for me has to be the way forward lol Been here for 6 years and still only happy with inches measuring up to say 10-12 inches after that get a bit confused.

By rolling, offset the roll so it forms a spiral. What is a spiral? How I mean?![]()
