There are a bunch in development, and a few have even entered phase 1 trials for safety. But after that comes phase 2 to show that a vaccine is effective, and then it must be mass-produced. None of this happens overnight.

We should be in good shape about March 2021 (if we all stay sheltered in place till then). :):danger:

I don't quite see how retesting is going to fix the issues above? I mean, if it's no longer hanging out in my nose it's not. So I don't quite see the point. I have been sick for so long I'd be better served by an antibody test.

Some nurse tested positive and then had some crazy amount of negative tests like double digits I believe. I forget why she did it, I think it was to prove the lack of sensitivity to the test or her docs wanted a repeat positive to be sure.

I just think I have pneumonia now. Whether brought on by COVID or not, it doesn't matter. My fever was down this morning and my o2 sats are like 98. But that's the thing, I'm wheezing like crazy and my lung hurt a great deal. I have a Z-pack and I may need stronger abx. What I NEED is a chest X ray and the sooner the better. The lab testing place has not called me so I will call in a bit. If they won't schedule me for today I will have to go to the ER but I don't think the hospital is a great place for me to be at the moment.

Honestly though even when I had pneumonia before for 18 months, my O2 sats were never that bad but my lung x-rays were awful. They just won't quit. So I need to get that done like, stat. Because I really do feel awful although coffee and albuterol and that lung anesthesia stuff are helping. I will call in a bit.

I really don't wanna go to the ER if I can avoid it, I hate those dismal places like many healthcare workers. It just SUCKS that my outpatient care SUCKS so bad. I cannot stand my PC he is almost dopier than "ignored content" I'm sure the post that is being ignored IS A CHARMER.

If "ignored content" keeps it up, hopefully he will be reported. Some people (myself included) can get a little mean, but some people are just NASTY. LOL. Oh well. The only thing more annoying than being persecuted on the down low by "ignored content" (not going too give it the satisfaction) is BEING ignored content. Heh. That has to suck.

Even though I'm on a leave of absence I was instructed to go to work for a covid-19 test. The National Guard is there testing all employee's and residents/patients of this LTC/Rehab facility. I can only take photos outdoors The test was the double nare test and wasn't painful at all. The white car behind the guards truck is the local health dept.

An interesting take on bundling tests together, going back to the ELIJAH test for HIV. Yep, yep.

And add in the incubation period, it's all a mess. I think the figures are actually a bit low, but it is an interesting piece of reporting. To those who are interested in facts and science, I do understand "Ignored User does not function like most humans when exposed to facts and science, but that is SO Not my problem. With going back to work, I thought some of you might be interested. Keep your nic up! Just kinda waiting for the ONE red disagree.

This Is How 'False Positives' And 'False Negatives' Can Bias COVID-19 Testing.

He just can't give up. HE IS OBSSESSED. I have an ECF stalker, I never thought I would HAVE a stalker but thankfully he gets too out of hand I have about fifteen big burly nephews in AUS who love me and this dude is 50 and BAKED and a coward. They play rugby, heh. I'm not instructing my computer gurus to find him, nor am I telling my nephews to do anything really, so far, I find the stalker deeply funny. I mean, it's COMPLIMENTARY in a way all that enmity trying to be BUGGIN me.

Because, to quote Bono ""Am I bugging you,, I didn't' mean to BUG YA." I actually am having SO much fun since I shoved him on ignore. LOL. Please don't stop "Ignored user!" You make my day evevrytime. LOL.

He may be removing them but most were on the thread "legal enjoyment today."

The cowardly lion may have been afraid as I have heard about some of them.

Anna

Hey Anna, I didn't know anything was going on until you mentioned it here. All I can say is please keep on posting and ignoring those that need to be ignored.

I don't know how any one who's been actually reading your posts can think you're lying about your illness.

Please concentrate your energy on taking cate of yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

I think it's more like ...

Those that die from Covid-19
______________________________ = death rate among those infected
Those that don't die from Covid-19
Of course the question is, how many have been infected and were never tested because their symptoms were mild or even non-existent? For most healthy, young people this virus really isn't a big deal.

i don't think sheltering in plaace is necessary if the govt comes up with millions of tests.
3.6 million tests have already been done, and we're currently doing about 150,000 a day, with the availability of tests exceeding the number of people wanting to get tested in most places.

Rossum, I agree with both of your posts. Our ruling class has made very important decisions without accurate information based upon computer models that panicked the nation. Some of these decisions may be economically fatal for some. I can't quarrel with the initial decision to lock it down. We were sold on the lockdown so that we could "flatten the @#$%^& curve" and not overwhelm the system. Well, the goal has been achieved; the system was not even whelmed let alone over whelmed except in certain limited areas of dense population. But the goal has also changed now and the goal will change again, always to our economic detriment.

I still want an antibody test and haven't figured out how to get one that is verified to be accurate.

3 people at my office had a very bad "flu" in February and they came back to work before they were 100% well. Days later I got a mild illness, like a cold but extreme fatigue. Stayed home 2 days and I was fine.
Much later, it's reported that there were some cases in Chicago in early February. Slim chance that's what I had, but knowing would make a world of difference to me now.

prophylactic use of HCQ is not proven to prevent covid at all, check the stats from France/Spain - their reports show that using HCQ is not helping covid patients but also adding some additional problems with the side effects.

And for Brazil for example it's only starting now, with their president Brazil has a potential to reach a N1 spot as the most affected country.
