Interesting my Nic level in the older base was 60 mg, makes me wonder now if I should dilute the 100 mg to 50 mg for long term.
It would help keep it from oxidizing faster. 100mg means more molecules to react, so it will oxidize faster. But 60mg will still do it. It depends how much oxygen is in the mix, and once that oxygen has reacted with the nicotine molecules it will not oxidize further. Thats what I have been told and read.

i am not going to worry about it,, there is very little 'air' in the jars i made up, about a '2 hairs worth' from the top of the nic to the lid, just enough to let the nic 'swell up' and still not touch the lid. .. i didnt even tighten the lids down until 24 hours passed to make sure all jars had hit peak freezing temps.

I also thought to VG was best for long term but the PG was said to be better? Most of mine is PG but my Nude is VG for long term. Hmmm rethinking this.
Yeah we dont have enough information to really know. NN says PG. But thats because of shelf life. Kurt said his VG was pretty much unchanged after 6.75 years in his thread. Nobody on here has i think stored PG like Kurt for 7 years so we would have any kind of comparison.

I don't think vg will get rancid in the freezer. And vg is what Kurt had in his freezer for almost 7 years. I guess the best thing to do is follow whatever you are comfortable with.

I think for my long term I am breaking down the 100 mg VG to 50 Mg and making it a PG/VG mix :)
If you choose to go that route please make sure you mix it really really well when you do it or I am afraid you will end up with pockets of both very high and very low nic.

Are you saying you will freeze it in original bottle, then thaw, rebottle and freeze again? Is that ok? I didn't want to rebottle my newest one due to oxidation since it won't be used for a very long time.
Doesn't actually freeze at freezer temps, so I don't see the issue.

I used to worry about that when I first started mixing. Now most of the vendors I buy from have those fancy mixing machines that do that before pouring into bottles. I always try to break my litres down when I receive them and I hold some samplings up to the light to see if there is any unmixed vg in there. Believe it or not you can tell.lol Its been a long time since I have seen any that were not totally mixed.

I don't worry about it from the companies I buy from either since they mix vats of it and I am sure they do a very good job of it. My concern about doing it myself would be mixing a bottle at a time. I am sure it would be fine if it was in a bottle big enough and with enough head space to allow it to mix well by shaking. I would be concerned about that process adding more oxygen to the mix. This is just one more thing I love about this vaping journey. What works well for one doesn't have to be the same for everyone. Vape on :)

I purchased all my nic base as 100% VG, since that's how I vape it. I have a question about transferring to glass bottles. Does the nic tend to separate out? In other words, does the base have to shaken well before use/transfer? I have always shaken well the little bottles I've purchased before. I know it introduces a lot of air bubbles. So if the base needs to be shaken, after you transfer to glass bottles, should they remain open until the air bubbles are gone?

I don't think separation is a problem. I usually shake mine just because :D but I buy all of mine in PG and haven't seen the bubbles y'all are seeing in the VG mix. I just pour mine into the glass bottles and immediately cap. I cap quickly just in case I was to bump one and spill it. I have been known to be clumsy from time to time specially on my overly shaky days.
