I did that exact process. I’ll play around with it. I probably should have thinned the ends a little more.
On the 8ml fasttech bottle, there's a rotating metal ring on the part that goes around the bottle neck. There's a little hole in that ring, that matches a little hole in the inner part of the collar. If you rotate the ring to line up the holes you get an air inlet.
If you 510 refill, that little hole does no good, just acts as a potential leak point.
Slide the rotating ring off the collar. It can come off if you unscrew the cap
Add a little dab of food grade silicone over the hole in the inner collar.
Slide the ring back on again, in the off position (hole not lined up with the inner hole).
Wait overnight for the silicone to set.
On the photo, the white is a little excess silicone sealant. On the right you can see the little knob that you can use to rotate the ring.

I only use
Rayon.. I flood the coil a couple of time to remove the raw flavor.. After that it 210+ mls of awesome(I rewick &recoil on Sunday--30ml/day)
I taste both rayon and cotton. What i do (on a new build) is after wicking is I juice up that wicking and tails and hit the fire button a couple of times. As it starts to smoke i blow on it to help keep it cool. Let it smoke for a couple seconds. And then finish putting the tank back together as usual. Bad taste is gone. Works for me everytime.
Well I am not getting my build done tonight but I do feel a lot better. Just took a second nap to get rid of a headache.
Got a new TFV12 tank/coil loaded up and sitting upside down. My gold one started leaking out a little bit but this coil made it five weeks! Not too shabby, still not sure why people hate on Smok so hard.
