How is your hit on the Colossal set, S, N, or H? I use pretty bulky coils with N for the hit strength and I’ve never found it underpowered.

It may have been on S, I forgot it had that setting. No matter now, it's in with my other backups.

Right now, I'm using a Geekvape Solo, with a Kayfun Prime, at home and an SXK Bantam Box, with their subtank-like rba, at work/when out and about. So far, nothing else has surpassed their vapes. :vapor:

I buy the amber 8oz from heartland
Yeah the polycone caps that these have, they were suggested by someone in the thread. Might have even been @Rossum. They're sold by Glass Bottle Outlet they're just on amazon. Most people don't buy clear as amber is better for long term storage. I'm just parroting most of this...

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N9K1GO1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

According to what I see in the pics in Rossum's thread, the nic seems to be looking just fine stored in the freezer in clear bottles because they get no light, just when you open the freezer briefly. "Looking", being the important word, I understand. But still, lookin' pretty good. And I like the fact of being able to see the nic at a glance without having to remove it from a dark bottle to "sample" it.

So clear bottles is where I'm leaning right now, but I am not buying any bottles for a little while yet so I could change my mind.

This is Rossum's nic after 2.6 years - freezer-kept nic on the left, room temp-kept on right.

XbxdHmz.jpg

HV ships their nic in black #2 HDPE botles, which is the downside to HV - not storage ready. But for the prices I got my nic for, especially today, I can't complain.

Rossum states in this thread I started that those HDPE bottles are worse than the clear PET bottles when it comes to storage because "HDPE is roughly 50 times more permeable to oxygen than PET". No bueno. So I definitely gotta buy glass bottles at some point or this hoarding bit will all be for nothing. I just gotta save up come cashola and figure if I really do want clear or colored bottles.

Guess I better get to decanting my nic sooner than later. I have 6 liters from Heartland.

Also I went to do an authenticity check on the Kanger website for my 6 Subtank minis I got from Kangerwholesale and it appears that the checker on Kanger's site is broken. Box looks pretty legit though, scanning the QR code did bring me to Kanger's site.

Yeah, Kanger was always bad with that. I think they got a new system. But I wonder why because they seem to be out of business at this point, or maybe they just decided to make stuff for other people? not sure. I can't find any real info on what's going on with kanger.

If you search Google (last I searched was about a month ago), Dash vapes has a video and article about "what happened to Kanger" but it really says nothing about "what happened to Kanger", only speculation as to why they seemed to have failed.

Speaking of built-in battery mods. I have about 4 or so that I never opened up, just hoarded them away maybe 2 years ago before I wised up and started 18650 mods only.

I suppose it would be wise to open them up and recharge them every once in a while, right?
Yes, but do not charge them to "full". For storage, ideally you want them at about 40-50% charge.

Rebuilding ssocc coils, looks pretty easy! I'll be doing this for the Nano's since my ssocc stash is not huge.

Thanks for posting that. Now my SSOCC stash just basically quintupled, at least! lol But more importantly it makes my ST Nanos much more vapocalpse ready since I only have one Nano RBA for them.

I just saved that vid to my hard drive.I've seen threads of people saying how they just recoil them as horizontal coils because it's almost impossible to recoil them as vertical, but this doesn't look so hard to me.

Gotta go on youtube soon and DL vids on recoiling all the drop ins I have.

I think YT will some day ban vape vids.

Time to start hoarding how-to-recoil vids lol

I agree I need to save more, I saved a bunch in 2016, but need these coil rebuild ones :) Here's one on rewicking occ coils the square early ones.

We've actually talked about that in a "what if" scenario. I need to do the same for everything I plan on rebuilding.

My problem with those is that most of my OCC stash is the V2 and they are a 1-piece body. SO recoiling (not just rewicking) is much harder to get the coil back in. He didn't take off the top cap because he was only rewicking, but it does come off on the V1 OCCs.

Will look for vids on it.

I can't find any vids on rebuilding the V2 OCC. By the time Kanger made V2, the Subtank mini was old news so I guess youtubers were on to "bigger and better" content lol Not worried about it, got a lot of SSOCC to rebuild for my ST Nanos.

It's right. See how long your nic would last if you didn't vape such a high strength? lol
I was thinking at 3mg it should last a lot longer than 3.65 years. If my wife and I do 18-20mg and it lasts 14 months, that means for just one of us it lasts 28 months (2.33 years), if we cut down to just 9-10mg it would last just one of us 4.66 years, 4.5-5mg should be 9.32 years... so how does 3mg only last 3.65 years?

It must be in the ml/day used... I am not sure how many ml/day we use, I only know how quickly we go through a liter of 100mg.

At 19mg and 14 months with 1 liter of 100mg, the calc shows you 2 are vaping only 12.3ml in total. Is that right?
    fCQ1OFK.png
It could be... and that would explain things. As I just mentioned in my previous post: I only know how long a liter of 100mg lasts us, not how many ml/day. But it seems like I am constantly using mine throughout the day, although I only vape at 10 and 14W (DTL). Which makes me scared about a bunch of the cloud chuckers I bought for future use (unless you hold it in forever, there is a ton of wasted vapor with those). but I do have 19.5L now and we plan on slowly tapering down to 9-10mg.

For long term storage, it is best to keep them at about a 40% charge... check them every 6-12 months or so.

EDIT: I was catching up on posts... @Rossum beat me to it. ;)

EDIT #2: Also, as @Haktuspit pointed out: I am one of those trying to focus on using my built-in battery mods now and saving my 18650 mods for later as the built-ins will become junk over time.
