I wouldn't keep a mod in a fridge, there's moisture in the fridge.

Integrated battery mods are a problem in a vapocalypse scenario. People in this thread that bought integrated mods in 2019 when they were too cheap to pass up have expressed plans to use them now while they are still usable. That's the best strategy with these mods IMHO.

I’ve been using two aegis minis with built in batteries since they first released them when I did a review on it.

OK, so the PMTA Vapopacylse so far has turned out to be much ado about nothing - I know it can still evolve badly. The USPS ban might be a little more concerning now.

    I've already bought 3 Smok Novo 2s and a Uwell Caliburn which is giving me a serious burnt taste {maybe a defective pod?}
and a bunch of pods and maybe 20 bottles of juice -
Still I used to be a pipe and cigar smoker and was going to buy one of those vape devices that looks like a pipe {any recommended?}- But I no longer miss the pipe.

But I still want a good full size device that I can use and use over and over again and I can buy a bunch of coils for cheap, the battery is replaceable with commonly used batteries that will not be hard to get and is known for reliability and few problems ?
Pipe smokers grow attached to favorite pipes - Give me a reliable easy to manage vape device that I can really like and will last me trough any vapopaclypse in the future.
    Thanks!

PS: If vaping.com has it all the better

You might want to consider getting a RTA and learning to build your own. Wire and cotton or rayon will always be available, whereas drop-in coils will be affected by the shipping ban. There's lots of good RTAs and RBAs available. My favorite is the Dead Rabbit. I buy the clones from Fasttech for about $9. Don't forget about spare glass.

Sure, I have a couple integrated batt mods that still work. Their from 2015-ish. One is an istick 30W and the other is a Itaste 20W. However the batteries won't last forever.

I also have 2 isticks where one battery is dead and the other the battery is good (to a degree) but the USB port is broke from using it all the time to charge it. This is another failure point with integrated batt mods that you don't have with 18650 mods assuming you always use an external charger to charge the batts.

An 18650 mod won't last forever either, but with care I believe any 18650/21700 mod will outlast any integrated battery mod.

I can't "give" you any, but I can give you some links. :D

Actually, I just got done making a recommendation to another person in another thread that I believe may suit you, too. Click here to read that post

I get what you’re saying. I think some mods are repairable if you can use a soldering iron. Most of mine are either 18650 or 21700 but do have some with built in batteries. I do agree about using them first. I have four jac dna75’s that are very repairable and extra boards for them. I think if someone really wanted to that they could take apart an istick and replace the battery. However, why bother with so much better stuff available.

I took one apart when I thought about changing the battery, but an 18650 is a hair too big and I didn't feel like sourcing LiPos. But I'm keeping them in case.

Did they have solder tabs on the original battery? I don't think I'd try to solder a big wire to the ends of one of these flat top batteries. Maybe mouser has some with tabs, I haven't looked.

I bought extra smok devices and I don't think you can change the batteries in them - Will the batteries keep longer if I also put them the refrigerator ?
Yes, the batteries themselves will degrade more slowly at cooler temperatures.

But no matter what temperature you store them at, store then with 40-50% charge, not fully charged. Sitting around at full charge (or close to it) also degrades batteries more quickly.

There's moisture everywhere. It's really only a problem if it condenses into liquid water on things.

I don't own any integrated battery mods, but if I did, and I wanted to put them in long-term storage, I would seal them up in freezer bags (or even better, use a "Food Saver" type vacuum sealer) along with some silica gel moisture absorbing packets. Once that's done, moisture becomes a non-worry, even in the fridge or the freezer.

Anyone know where I can grab up an ohm reading building deck? I’ve seen them in clearance pages for $15 out of stock. Every time I see them that cheap I nearly spit my water out, but they’re never in stock. I could also use a coil master builders kit with all the different sized rods for different sized coils. I have an old one but I don’t have all the sizes

Fasttech has one but whether it worth the $14 or if they'll even ship it is another matter.
$14.02 Authentic PilotVape Coil Magician Mini Tab (Ohm Meter) - 0.01-9.99ohm / 1*18650 at FastTech - Free Shipping

They also have the coil master
    $16.58 Authentic 521 Mini V2 Tab Resistance Tester - 0.05-9.9 ohm / 1*18650 at FastTech - Free Shipping

    And the coil master jig/winder
    $7.01 Coil Master Styled V4 6-in-1 E-Cigarette Wire Coil Winder - 1.5 + 2 + 2.5 + 3 + 3.5 + 4mm poles at FastTech - Free Shipping

I used to use a winder all the time but I mostly use a coiling rod anymore.
    $2.46 Coil Father DIY Coil Winding Rod (2-Pack) 2-pack - 1.5mm + 2.0mm + 2.5mm + 3.0mm + 3.5mm sections at FastTech - Free Shipping

Better order from FT now because rumor has it Chinese New Year holiday is going to be at least a month long this year.

These decks used to be in pretty high demand at one point but seem to have gone by the wayside anymore. Seems the only vapers who use them are reviewers. Personally I would just buy a large mod. At least it can double as a mod and it will likely last years longer.

Are you kidding me??? I use my Coilmaster mini-tab all the time and lots of other vapers do, too. It's a terrific tool for anyone who does their own building. I got one a couple of years ago to check it out, and now I would really hate to do without it. It makes dry burning and rewicking a quick and painless job. It's also a nice solid space to set up your coils. I like them so much that I recently ordered a second one for my long-term stash. They may no longer be in high demand simply because most serious builders already have one.

Here’s the full kit that includes the ohm reader:

Coil Master V2 DIY RBA Tool Set Kit with Latest Coil Jig Ohm Meter

Elementvape.com has the ohm reader separate but not the kit.

I got a coil master for when all of my regulated mods die and you can no longer purchase equipment anymore. I bought a mech mod for the same reason. I use the coil master about half the time when recoiling an atty, and the other half I'll use a regulated mod. The mech mod is in my stash.

I agree @Rossum. Also, when taken it out of cold storage leave the package sealed until it comes to room temperature or the warm, humid air in the house will cause condensation.
