Somewhere out there
We are ok. We are south of the Pass a few miles and the fire is burning out toward the desert areas to the north/northeast. Wrightwood is still in danger. 82,000 people have been evacuated, and quite a few won't have homes to go back to tho. I feel so sorry for what they are going thru. Thanks for the concern, and well wishes.
Oh my that is close, I hate fires. Be safe.

If you can't maintain a sense of humor in the worst of times, might as well roll over and give up. ;)
Especially when people refuse to call the mod squad until a situation gets preposterous. "Hey, this cray-cray is fun to debate with!!!"

Careful where you stash your silica packs. I keep mine in mason jars with rice
'cause we have a high rate of ambient humidity as I suspect you do. I learned my lesson
when a bunch of them inside a ziplock in a kitchen drawer turned to silica porridge.

Regards,
Hazy

Thank you for this info. I did not know that. :)

YouTube video within the last 3 months at a small gathering of shop owners,

You are being lied to! The truth behind the VTA and Dimitris Agrafiotis

mentioned the co he represents, and they have closed systems. Somebody in the audience brought it up and it started an argument.

Some of these people that act as if they represent us are working on systems we do not want and will not willingly buy.
Tommy is right, Dimitri, Busardo and the like have unfortunately sold us out for 30 pieces of Silver.they are not advocates, they are opportunists sad to say.........open systems=freedom, closed systems=bondage

You pick two kits and then use the code so one is free. There is also a code on the home page to use to get a free (or for 1.00, can't remember) cigalike kit with refillable cartridge.
Tried that and it does work but didn't buy it, just not convinced it is worth it LOL

Thinking about this I would rather see closed systems than nothing at all, but it is sad to see open systems getting pushed aside. But if a closed system has a replacement battery and the pods can be refilled that would be better than nothing available, especially new people getting off cigs.

We're our worst enemy at times.

Companies that sell closed systems can be our advocates just as much as those companies that sell open systems.

There is a place for closed systems on the market. Just because you refuse to use them does not make them bad. Nor does it imply those companies are not on our side.

Hello my lovely vape family,
I'm going to be taking a break from ecf due to family issues. Hopefully I will be able to pop in and check on things. If anything major happens can someone post to my pm box?
Thank you!

{{{{ Hugs }}}} Hope things work out for you.

Do you know, has it been confirmed that we vapers using the open systems are a smaller percentage than those using the cigalikes?
I thought I read somewhere that was the case.

As it stands, if none of it gets overturned, closed systems are/will be the future of vaping (legally).

I'm not going to turn on people that have done soooo much to further the industry all these years.
I think what they're doing is trying to be a part of shaping the future, if that's even possible.:2c:

I respectfully disagree with the idea that they've become opportunistic, but that's just me. :)

Did they happen to say if they have received 'donations' from the vaping community and if so, how that money is being spent? Sorry, haven't had time to view the video yet, but am curious. And no, I have not donated anything to that org yet. I am a CASSA supporter tho.

A few years ago this was true, but I think it's a 50/50 mix at this point.

As to closed systems, I am with Retired in that just because someone has decided to go with a closed system to sell, it has no bearing on whether or not they are fighting for vaping rights.

As the regulations stand right now, they will still have to file PMTA's and their product stands just as good a chance of making it through as say a ProVari or a Protank. Which is None.

Unfortunately, they know which way the wind is blowing and feel that the only things that MAY make it through are the closed systems. Not that they are 'selling out' but that they can see where vaping is headed.

In all honesty we that have gotten used to open systems do not particularly care for closed but to keep vaping mainstream that may well be the only way that will be done. At least until MORE studies (God! How many do we need before those idjits get it?) prove out that vaping is not bad for public health.

I hate, hate, hate, that this community is getting so divided! It is working to the regulators advantage. Divide and conquer. It is becoming abundantly clear that we are getting conquered. :(

Just my :2c:

IMO, the Pods will never be refillable ... expensive, replaceable and taxable is what the FDA wants :smokie:

I think we're all still clear on the common goal, don't you think? :)
