I think we're all still clear on the common goal, don't you think? :)
We do have a common goal, but at the same time, people are picking sides on whom to support. Then arguments become about what he said/he said/she said. The goal gets lost in the rumors and innuendos.

This is war. We need to be fighting from All sides against the FDA.

I encourage all to fight in any way they can. Just don't fight against those that ultimately have vaping (no matter if closed/open) in their best interest. They are vapers also. They stand to lose just as much as we do.

I support all the groups. Yes, financially as well. Without vendors, we have no product. Without vapers, their product won't sell. We need to be united. Without each other, we have nothing.

Somewhere out there
For me anything that keeps vaping public is a good thing and after looking at the pods, I do prefer them over cig a likes, at least some pods have 10 ml capacity. Internal batts, not so good but the Mistic has a 1700 mah batt so that is better than some. Right now none of the pods are perfect but better than no vape and some could be approved I think.

Guess things are much worse than I imagined. :(

As to closed systems, I am with Retired in that just because someone has decided to go with a closed system to sell, it has no bearing on whether or not they are fighting for vaping rights.

As the regulations stand right now, they will still have to file PMTA's and their product stands just as good a chance of making it through as say a ProVari or a Protank. Which is None.

Unfortunately, they know which way the wind is blowing and feel that the only things that MAY make it through are the closed systems. Not that they are 'selling out' but that they can see where vaping is headed.

In all honesty we that have gotten used to open systems do not particularly care for closed but to keep vaping mainstream that may well be the only way that will be done. At least until MORE studies (God! How many do we need before those idjits get it?) prove out that vaping is not bad for public health.

I hate, hate, hate, that this community is getting so divided! It is working to the regulators advantage. Divide and conquer. It is becoming abundantly clear that we are getting conquered. :(

Just my :2c:
Very well said  The closed/open system debate is taking me back to the stock/no reason to stock debates. Or the "my vape is superior to your vape". We can be our worst enemy at times.

Sadly it isn't just vaping that divides us. Our once proud country has been brought to its knees by promoting division between groups. :( I have to admit though, I love this thread. We have all come together to help each other get prepared and that right there is a very good thing :)

Unfortunately, they are. I am a member on almost all the group FB pages. I see the slams from one group over another group.

People blocking other people from their group pages.... it is getting bad out there.

What kills me, most of this is done out of fear. We fear what is coming and we lash out.

Where did you see a pod with 10ml capacity? What was the price at that level. The ones I looked at would end up being more expensive than smokes in my area assuming you could limit yourself to 3ml a day...

The XOLO uses 10ml pods. I do believe there's one or two other systems that also have larger capacity pods.

Fear has nothing to do with it. It's more along the line of what ails the country at the moment. If someone doesn't totally agree with your beliefs, they're automatically classed as someone to avoid at all costs. We're seeing it in spades in the political arena, and we're seeing it here with the FDA mess.

The Xolo has a 10ml pod.

It sounds like they are lashing out at the wrong people...

Don't we always? Basically it is because we respond to each other, the government and the pharma groups never respond. There is no give and take. We get <crickets> when we ask questions or display our anger toward them.

We respond to each other in a debate and then the fights become more vocal. Insults are thrown and then we are off with the gloves. Feelings get hurt, bad words get thrown around, insults abound.

I sit and watch and shake my head. If I try to insert some common sense, someone comes back with snark. I abstain from the fight. I want to continue to see the relevant stuff and tend to bypass the fighting. It no longer is entertaining to watch the crap storm. It is just sad.

I saw 10ml pods for $20 somewhere. Don't remember which manufacturer. That's pretty awful and that retail price doesn't even include the taxes that haven't happened yet. Pods could easily be more expensive than smoking.

We really need Cole Bishop to survive the Senate. It would pretty much reverse all our fears we have now about the regs.

I am hopeful that we can continuing discussing new post 8/8 devices both during these two years and beyond. Although they won't technically be available in the US, I expect many of our neighbors will be trying new things out, griping, tweaking and getting shinyitis all over the place.

That fun and camaraderie are something we need to continue at ECF!
