I'm still unclear on how long nic will last in a dark, cool environment (not frozen)...?
i am starting to gather it loses potency, but won't actually poison you. I'm not sure if this also counts for non nic plain VG/PG though. I keep reading here, 2 years on those roughly in ideal conditions.. i wonder if plain PG and VG should be frozen as well? It really is all a bit confusing in some ways isn't it? !

Just out of curiosity, does refrigeration also increase shelf life.. and when freezing, is it like vodka in that it doesn't actually freeze, or does it actually ice up, so i'd have to defrost it when it came time to use? Does a massive power interruption matter, or is it safe for it to just refreeze when power comes back on? My house is prone to dropouts.
Colder is always better because it slows all chemical reactions. So a fridge is better than nothing.

Nic base does not freeze solid at the temperatures a typical freezer intended for food can reach. VG-based nic will gt highly viscous ("like molasses in January"). PG-based nic will also get somewhat thicker but not nearly as much.

Power interruption does not matter much. The reason that foodstuffs shouldn't be frozen, thawed, and re-frozen in that they're water-based and the ice crystals damage the cell structures that make up the foods every time. Nic base doesn't have any cell structures. I have several liters of nic here at my house in FL that was without power for a more than a week after the hurricane in early October. I'm not worried about it. After all, it wasn't kept cold when it was shipped to me in the first place. :)

I have a 5 year old bottle of PG that I have been using in my cigar humidor and it is still crystal clear and seems not have changed since I bought it. Not refrigerated either.

I freeze my nic, keep my flavours in the fridge and my gallons of VG/PG in a dark cold storage room.

oh and can i just leave the fusion in glass bottle it was delivered in, or should i change the cap?
If it's got a rubber squeeze-bulb dropper top, I would change it. Those things are not very gas-tight. "Polycone" caps are what's generally considered best.

I think much depends on the permeability of the container and how much air is in the container to begin with. Couple of years ago, I bought nic from four different "premium" vendors for the a blind-test comparison and I had maybe 30-40 ml left in each of the 120 ml bottles after sending out the samples. I left them at room temperature for 6-8 weeks and all of them got noticeably darker and less clean tasting. The 3 in plastic changed the most. The one in glass changed the least.

Mine is in glass mason jars. I simply don't have the freezer space :(

I believe it will darken and taste nasty due to oxidation long before it loses much of its potency.

I put my PG and VG stash in 1 liter glass bottles with polycone caps, and keep it in the dark, at room temperature. PG and VG are much more stable compounds than nicotine. I've never detected a change in PG or VG, even in plastic bottles with lots of headspace air that were not protected from light, so I suspect that my glass bottles are probably overkill, but hey...

I bought a dedicated freezer for $150 from best buy and vac sealed all the glass bottles, packed them in cardboard with bubble wrap or packing paper and use the extra space for frozen veggies and other stuff we dont have room for up stairs.

It's looking like that's what I'll have to do. Hopefully I can find one that locks!

Are you sure? Based on my reading of the BOE's website, it's 27.3% of wholesale, effective April 1, but subject to revision annually at their April meeting, with the new rate becoming effective on July 1.

Hey, @Rossum Do you have a link to this? I need to read up on this tax situation. Thanks.

I THINK I'm done! I have mods, tanks, coils, wire, batteries, cotton and more stuff!
Now I need to learn to make juice!!!!!!
I have the nic but need to plan on some flavors!
This is the one part I am not looking forward to! I am a horrible cook and can't even mix a decent drink! I might be vaping some not so good juice in the future!
But I'm gonna try!

I vape unflavored 90% of the time. There's a few flavors I do enjoy as a treat vape, but the majority of my vaping is unflavored and I enjoy it. Anybody can make unflavored. :)

Well, I'm just as confused if not more so after reading that. It states under Distrubution, Distributions of all products containing any tobacco, nicotine, e-cigarettes (i.e. nicotine delivery devices) sold in combination with nicotine.....
Does this mean that if I buy an ecig that doesn't have any nic in it, it's not taxed?

Wow thank you! I was told by all nic vendors, NO freezer, NO fridge! Room temperature, in darkness. Now I am confused! Halo told me the nicotine will start breaking up (fusion base) after a year or so. They gave me some revival tips of opening the bottle and putting the top on in reverse so there's just a tiny bit of air, after a vigorous shake. Haven't tried that, but I will confirm, my 2 yo fusion tastes funky, and it's always been kept in what they call optimal. My flavoured juices now have use by dates, well some do. And it always seems to be 18 months or 2 years from manufacture date.

I am a bit MORE confused now LOL.. so any extra info would be much welcomed.

Also, i put August 2018 in Google and not seeing stuff relating to that date, but rather August 2016 which has past. What is in August of next year may I ask?
Of course they want you to store at room Temperature so you can't stockpile.

VG and PG doesnt freeze into a solid in the freezer. What you are doing is slowing the aging process in the freezer.

An issue with freezing is if the bottle is full to the brim and in glass as your post suggested it could cause the glass to crack then leak juice all over freezer.

Other issue is as with all frozen goods it will dull the flavour, ( i know it will not freeze as PG/VG doesn't freeze at temperatures a household freezer reaches, but the flavouring could be effected and be degraded). Ii know this to be true, as had some old bottles i wanted to recycle for DIY and after i washed them they still had some left over smell RY4 and a strong coffee.

I read on ways to get rid of this and a suggestion was to leave the cleaned bottle in the freezer overnight. The next morning the bottle smelt fresh as a daisy. Therefore if juice was in their the flavour could be muted too.

From my understanding is if it's sold as a vape product, then yes. If it's sold as a non vape product, then no. The example was with LV, because the word vape was in the name and they sold vape products, they were tobacco. The same wire could be sold by TEMCO and because they didn't carry vape specific products, the answer was no, no tax and not a vapor product.

So yes, cotton could be a vapor product if it's sold by a vape store. Same with 0 nic eliquid = vape product. Same with screws and orings sold by vape store. But they aren't targeting vape stores?

Ugh. That's what I've read in discussions about FDA and I imagine states will adopt a similar definition for tobacco/vape products. I've been wrong before...

People keep nic in freezer, and ejuice flavors in fridge.

I wouldnt fill nic to brim 1/2 inch 12.5 mm of the top is enough.
