Almost every time I read about long term storage, they say do glass. Even wizardlabs who ships in plastic says if you are going to long term storage it, put it in glass. Its just safer. Plus plastic can allow transfer of some stuff, glass doesnt.
Yes, I know. Hope I didn't cause any confusion. beckdg said he was rebottling in glass so I assumed the question was about freezing and re-freezing the nic not the containers.

Ah sorry, i misunderstood. The OP of it im pretty sure said he was going to leave it in the original container. Which most are shipping in plastic now from what I know unless they have an option for glass. If I could afford it, I would have a huge deep freezer full of nude armor 120ml bottles :D

But as Kurt said in his post about storage. His VG base was unchanged after 6.75 years, and PG is supposed to keep longer than VG. Nobody is sure about the difference a freezer will make on PG as opposed to VG though. But Kurt knows that VG will keep a good long time. It makes me wonder if I should just buy VG. But I also saw Nude nic reply on reddit or somewhere that they would choose PG for long term storage.

Cause its cheaper, and they dont expect people to keep the smaller bottles in the freezer. But i think mostly its because of less risk of being broken during shipping, that is not just a hassle, its dangerous. But the person who asked about storing nicotine in plastic needs to not listen to the person who says its ok. This is straight from wizardlabs website, and probably every other nic base company would say the same.

Storage
Nicotine solutions should be stored in a dry, cool, dark location that is secured from untrained personnel. Always keep Nicotine solutions out of the reach of children and pets. For long term storage keep Nicotine solutions in a glass container with an airtight lid, and proper labeling. To help prevent oxidation, keep Nicotine solutions away from heat, light, and in contact with as little oxygen as possible. Nicotine solutions may be safely stored at room temperature. Optimal storage temperature is 34-41 degrees Fahrenheit. Nicotine solutions may be safely used for up to 18 months with proper storage.
I am sorry you are confused....no one has said its ok to store long term nic in plastic. Please re-read the post.

Just as an a FYI, I am using Nic that was frozen in plastic from 2013, it was only in a plastic Baggie with bottle inside. I had it in my freezer door for years but I didn't know about keeping light out or freezing in glass. It tastes fresh, no dis coloring at all. So not saying not to use glass, but for short term plastic doesn't hurt.

Im about to drop a good 250 bucks coming up soon. I ordered some RDAs and I got 2 liters in my cart, along with all the fixins needed. Bottles from the outlet, mods and stuff. I dont think I will need to buy a ton of wick and wire right yet...i mean if they are gonna tax cotton and wire just because it CAN be used for vaping...frickin ......s. They dont but tobacco tax on lighters do they? So why on mods and atomizers?

i was buying liters,, breaking them down into 60ml glass bottles,, label,, then vaccuume packing.......then i bought a gallon......i switched over to standard wide mouth pint freezer ready canning jars.. but i went with the plastic bpa-free lids instead of the metal ring lids.

my thinking is,, i fill them up to nearly the very top, they wont be opened again for years,,, i can live with a little coloring and loss of mg.(100mgs) once opened they will get rebottled again.---yes,, possibly harming them more.....but i just dont have the space or freezer space and i am thinking of buying a couple more liter bottles of nic. i am fine with 0 nic most days,, its my husband i am worried about.......but he doesnt really vape right now.. more of a tester............ugh.

Thats not the safest though, even if its clear and not oxidized. Plastic, any kind of plastic, can react and the solution can absorb stuff from the plastic. I dont really think there is any kind of plastic suitable for storage for 3 years in a freezer. You're probably vaping some plastic chemicals with no taste right now.

My guess is that if you were to test the nic level, if you found any variation from the original mg it would be minimal.
And if it tastes ok, then I would not worry about it. It takes a long time for nic to degrade unless you sit it in direct sunlight and its hot as hades.

You know, I read somewhere that 60mg doesnt oxidize as fast and as bad as 100mg nic. Im getting 60mg for my freezer. But even just 2 liters of that, and 1 liter each of pg/vg will fill up probably half of my dinky freezer. Its gonna take like 35 120ml bottles.

Basically depends on what your state does on taxing tobacco products. I think items will be available just how much will they be taxed.

i understood you and agree,, i was posting more that i sorta 'broke the rules' for storage going with a pint size jar.....a standard canning jar,, they sell them at the grocer and walmart $8+ for 12.....for me,, all of the tiny jars were taking up a lot of valuable real estate in my freezer.......remember,, i live in a tiny condo and i want to live on a boat. space/stuff is a big issue with me :)

You could be right, there is no plastic taste at all but could be chemicals in it. It is totally clear with no discoloration at all. I use glass now just didn't know about that before.

Im with you. My freezer would only hold about maybe 8-10 digiorno pizzas. But for you, and the guy who is vaping out of plastic from 2013. This is straight from Nude Nicotine.

Few last points to cover – shelf-life varies largely by nicotine strength, as well as PG/VG ratio. Higher nicotine strengths will possess more nicotine molecules, less likely to be completely solvated by their carrier (PG/VG). Put simply – 100mg/mL formulations will keep for less time than a 24mg/mL formulation. PG is also a much better solvent for this purpose – it has an extremely low viscosity, will dissipate dispersed oxygen bubbles quickly (say that 4 times fast!), and has a longer shelf-life chemically (2 years from DOM, vs. VG – 1 year). Thus some may only see a short shelf-life for a 100mg/mL solution kept on a shelf compared to a 24mg/mL solution kept in multiple frozen aliquots. Remember, nicotine solution solvated in wither PG or VG WILL NOT FREEZE!

A few other points to cover – if storing your nicotine solution for longer than 6 weeks, please do transfer your solution into a glass bottle for prolonged storage (Remember – amber/cobalt!). Some plastics will not provide a complete vapor barrier against outside atmosphere and thus can leak over time. In addition, some LDPE plastics are known to have such a low density as to allow for other medium-sized molecules to migrate through the plastic wall. Not such a good thing to happen when a glass bottle would have solved all problems!

Maybe the best course of action is to ask the residential chemist. Kirt can usually be found in the DIY section of ecf here
DIY E-Liquid

And the RTS chemist can be found here
Ask The Chemist

Well regardless of if using plastic wont kill you or anything. We and every supplier all agree, glass is the way.
