i remember the thread, it's just that i hear contrasting ideas. who is right at this point? i am thinking some things are going to be very difficult for them to mess with. some things im not so sure of. like kanthal, im not sure what uses it has besides vaping? the batteries we used, the high strength batteries like the brown LG's im guessing are not vape exclusive. cotton LOL.

at this point are things still being produced and imported OR are supplies going to get exhausted and run out?
All I know to do is to start with the most vulnerable items, then move to the next most vulnerable, and on from there.

So, nic first. Then atomizers and any coils and/or spare parts for them.

Mods don't come until third because you can build a mod. But, since most of us don't want to, they're next. And, of course any spare parts for your mods.

After that you're in more relaxed territory. Flavoring and batteries can only be stocked up on minimally because they don't last forever. But, it wouldn't hurt. Wick and wire can last forever. So, you can stock up on them if you want.

Oh, wait. Drip-tips!

The most specifically vape stuff (nic, atties, mods, and drip-tips) should come first. Did I forget anything?

i dont know if i have said this before but what is going to happen is people will start building their own mods. many people will do this without really knowing much about what they are doing. right now we have mass produced gear that was specifically designed and engineered with safety in mind. you dont really hear about battery explosions much anymore because companies started making safer devices.

if all of this regulated gear with safety built into the product disappears it will be replaced with home-made unvented flash-light tube type devices. basically bombs. what we will end up with is really the "wild wild west". vaping at least now has some degree of safety built it. vaping will become the bath-tub gin of the 21st century.

of course when this does come to reality they will blame vaping itself and not the stupid, moronic laws that will be in place.

Kanthal is used in many products (toasters use it)
SS fence wire is another option.
Places like this will always be around:
http://www.temcoindustrialpower.com/search.html?search_bar=1&t1=kanthal+a1&submit.x=11&submit.y=6

that site kind of put my mind at ease. 5,000 ft spool of kanthal. they also have stainless steel wire. im not going to hoard wire.

what about japanese cotton, what other uses does it have if any? i know cotton is everywhere but what about the japanese type. are there any suppliers that supply larger quantities

how in the heck are they going to be able to ban wire, cotton, PG, VG, bottles, syringes, droppers, and batteries? nearly all of this stuff is used elsewhere.

does kanthal wire have any uses besides vaping? japanese cotton in particular (or are we going to have to resort to cotton balls lol), PG and VG (good luck on banning that), syringes, ect ect

all of this stuff has uses outside of vaping. what the heck is wrong with these people.. who do they really think they are??? VG..... used in soap, PG used just about everywhere, lithium ion batteries..... flashlights, laptops, and power tools.

what is the shelf life on flavoring, PG, and VG. does PG and VG keep nearly forever?
VG is only good for 14-22 months

Barneys New York sells both Shiseido and Koh Gen Do cotton for applying makeup and such. I bought both, but by the time I received the order, I had already discovered I liked rayon better.

I have not heard that vg has that short of a shelf life. Not telling anyone else what to do but I have vg and pg that is over 5 years old and no discoloration, no smell, no change in viscosity, nothing. Just like new so I am not worried about that part of it. But that is just me and my :2c:

Thank goodness. :) I'm not super worried about vg and pg going away but who knows what will happen til it happens.

There will always be the small immature few who will push the limits, like anything in life; i.e. speed when driving. Of all the instances that I've seen in the news/media about battery explosions, it's always been with a mechanical tube mod, a hybrid connection, and persons using a tank on it (which most tanks don't have a "generous" 510 anyways, never a good idea to use with a hybrid to begin with). My automatic assumption is that they are inexperienced with those devices from the get go. I've never popped a coil or vented a battery to date or anything close, or used an atomizer with a short 510 on any of my mechanicals.

Almost like with guns also. Anyone with money, that can pass a background check, can get one. But give it to the wrong person and it's dangerous..

    MmXL_f-maxage-0_s-200x150.gif

.. moronic laws are placed because of those who weren't smart and effects everyone. Laws will unfortunately always be like that. One bad apple ruins the bunch.

im thinking about buying 3 Kbox mods. i can get all 3 for less $100. i might be placing yet another order with eciggity before the day is out

Never used the Kbox, I'm sure it's like my Kbox mini which I only use to pulse new builds or read ohms. I could use it as a regular device but it's only a single 18650, I like longer battery life personally. But the Kbox's are great little cheap devices that stands the test of daily usage and work well all the time. Haven't had anything weird happen to me when using it yet, had it around a year, few dings and scratches but functions just as new still.
