I'm a little perplexed. I thought wire, like batteries and pg&vg had alternate uses. How do they know what a person is buying it for?!

If you buy it from a vape shop it is vape related.

If you buy from an industrial source it is not.

Have a list of non vape related places you can get all you need locally.

Well...when you go to the store to buy more cotton...just don't be saying that you are using it for wicks or that bag of cotton will magically turn into a tobacco product.

Intended purposes - really...major eye roll !!!

Next they will deem my keyboard as a tobacco product because i use it to type about vaping.

They are. The issue with someone like Lightning Vapes or Advanced Vape Supply is one, the use of the word vape, and second, if prebuilt coils are offered as it's hard to justify a fused Clapton as having other uses. Companies like Temco which make wire for industrial use will always remain available for plain wire, and "specialty" coils will simply have to be purchased from the manufacturer rather than through Amazon.

I'm sure if Essential Depot changed it's label from VG to Vape VG, there might be an issue as well. Batteries should not purchased through Amazon or eBay anyway given the high percentage of counterfeits that end up offered. Current battery suppliers won't be going anywhere.

Excellent points, Eskie!

It doesn't hurt to have stocks of any of this stuff, especially when your home state thinks you should pay a 40% tax on anything that you buy that you intend to use for vaping. Now I wouldn't miss any meals if I had to pay a 40% tax on PG, VG, or resistance wire, but it just warms my insides to know I'll never have to pay it. :)

That's the one thing I haven't stocked up on due to shelf-life issues. Li-Ion batteries lose capacity every year even when not cycled at all and stored at an optimal charge level.
VG will go bad in two years in tge bottle unused.

If you get 1 gallon thats plenty.

Not sure about PG.

Forgive my ignorance but is this a sign that we may not have until August 2018 to stock up?

There have always been fears about how implementation would effect availability. The biggest concern, other than nic, was the "no new products" thing, but so far, it hasn't been difficult to find new products from US vendors. Could that change tomorrow? Sure, but right now I think Trump is focused more on why judges are being mean to him than demanding the FDA enforce its rules on this, and ICE (customs), well, they've got their hands full deciding who's allowed in or not as of this moment, so small packages from China aren't on the agenda.

Does that mean we should add wire to our stockpiling efforts?
I build with 28 guage stainless and use 1' a month, 2 rebuilds with 6" of wire. So 50 months, 4 years. The going price seems to be $5, even from Temco. I have a few rolls. As crackdown time approaches may be I'll get a few more rolls. I buy 100' spools because bigger ones are going to be ackward to handle. I doubt that it needs to be stockpiled but it's dirt cheap if you're like me and keep things simple.

Thanks. But why are Amazon and eBay pulling products?

The FDA could quash nic base at any time. "Could" doesn't mean they will, but it's the highest risk item and should be your highest priority.

Glycerol is a pretty stable compound. What's the mechanism that ostensibly causes it to "go bad" in two years in well-sealed container? Most of mine has been rebottled into liter-sized glass Boston rounds, but I've had some sitting on the shelf in the original plastic from ED for over two years and haven't noticed any degradation at all.

I searched shelf life of Vegetable glycerin it said 14-22 months. If yoy keep it dark and cold will increase shelf life.

Vendors who have "Vape" or "Vapes" in their name are gonna have a bad time, even if everything they sell has some other uses.

Vendors who were around long before vaping will have it easier, especially if they don't mention vaping at all.

Shelf life ratings are a funny thing. They mean the vendor is confident that the product will last at least that long. They do not mean the product will go bad after that time.
