between here and there
I got vapemail yesterday - A few of the Ego One Mega kits, some RF super concentrates from their recent Giveaway for S/H only, and lots of vaping goodies from FT.

Have 2 more orders in with FT on the sale going on now. Split it into things ready to ship now (already got email saying it's shipped) and another shipment that'll be sent in 7-8 days.

By the way, anyone considering getting parts to make the little KFL shorties - If you don't already have the chimney base from a KF or clone that you plan to use, you might want to get on FT and buy however many of the following that you think you'll want/need. They've discontinued almost all of the listings for just the chimney bases, that some of us ordered back in summer & fall. 2-3 others of them have been Out of Stock for about 2 months now. So, I'm thinking they might be bordering on being discontinued, too.

There are only a few options remaining that I've found, that will also work. One of them is below, which is a 2-part whole chimney in a 5-pack, which I bought. I'll just use the base barrel part of it only for the shorty KF. It's also available singly. I got them already, and the barrel part of it DOES fit perfectly, too, on the KFL bases from FT with the acrylic shorty bell caps. (One of the measurements shown for them makes it seem like it won't work, but it does.) With the current sale, these are $6.62/5 pack.

$7.36 Replacement Chimney for Kayfun (5-Pack) - stainless steel / ohm logo at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

There MAY be other chimney bases alone that someone has found elsewhere, but I went with these 2-part chimneys (and will use only the base barrel part) before they're discontinued possibly, too, soon.

For those who recently bought the joyetech Ego One Mega kits, and want the CLR coils for them...FT also has the authentic JoyeTech ones for $7.70/5 pack. So with 10% off sale going on now, they're just $6.93/5 pack. I couldn't find them that cheap anywhere else! Link is for the 1ohm, but they have the 0.5ohm, too.

$7.70 Authentic Joyetech eGo ONE CLR Coil Head (5-Pack) - 1ohm at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
It seems like everytime I tried to buy only in stock items, that one or two that say 'in stock' always change after I order them. It is so maddening. And it happened again with this last sale. grrr.

All of my orders here of late, I have also included a five pack of the clr's for the 0.5ohm. The 1.0 ohm clr's have a smaller air hole than the 0.5ohm on the 510 pin. I just like a little more air and the lower ohm. The 1.0ohm seems to creep up in ohm's when using. You are right, you just cannot find them anywhere cheaper and they are so easy to recoil and rewick.

I also get the ECR's for the melo 2 and 3. Same type of set up as the clr's.

I haven't kept up with the chimneys' since I stocked up on them last summer.

:)

Yippee! Thanks for the info on them! Based on the above then...I'll definitely like the 1.0ohm better, since I light a tighter draw myself. If the ohms creep up, that's even better for me, too, because the lowest I ever usually go is 1.2ohms, but I really prefer the 1.5-1.8ohm range the most.

About the chimneys - Yep, I bought a 5-pack of just the chimney bases (barrel part only) last summer when they were available in many graphic designs (not that design makes any difference to me). As I've been watching them be discontinued, and 2-3 remaining ones always saying OOS...I thought I better grab some of the 2-part chimneys while I could, and just use the base. Hard to beat the price for a pack of 5...even not using the top part! :)

I've discovered something else, since I HAD to learn how to build/wick/install coils to use the little KFL shorties. It's something I'll also use with other RBAs, too, after removing the old wick and dry burning the coil to get rid of gunk.

I use 1 of the little "Plackers" Dental Brushes (sold 4 in a pack for $1 at DT). They're the ones that have a little plastic handle, and about a 1/2" long, tiny fine bristle-covered, end on them. They also come with a little clear plastic cap on each one. I use them to get into the coil itself, around the leads, air hole, etc. for further cleaning. They work very well, are dirt cheap, washable, don't bend or mess up the coil nor leads, and each one in a pack lasts me at least 3 weeks' worth of cleaning with them.

This may be old news to those of you who've been building coils for years, but for me...it was one of those AHA moments, when I first used one on my little KF shorty and saw how well it worked. :)

EDIT: By the way, since the little thing is only 2 1/2" long, if you have problems working with shorter tools...just take the cap off, turn it around, and stick it on the handle end of the Placker. When you do that, it makes the total length about 3 3/4" and is alittle easier to handle.

The assumption behind stockpiling is that governments succeed in blocking access to something like this so it would have to be stockpiled too and if the screens are vulnerable they could be bad in 10 years. And now I'm hooked on the Arctic fox Firmware.

I would think the only reason to stockpile something like those boards is for when they're discontinued and unavailable altogether. No matter how hard the FDA comes down, expecting customs agents to check circuit boards entering the US for possible use in vape gear would be an utterly impossible task. FT running out of them, yeah, I can see that happening.

Shipping requires codes that categorize the contents and there is a vaping code for scanning. If random checks show wrong codes used, then all shipments from the vendor could be at risk. FT won't ship to countries that routinely return pkgs at customs (like Mexico), legal or not. I think that's why the FDA wanted all product sku's registered. If they don't have a sku for it, the item won't be allowed. I doubt if FT will risk fines and other shipments for a part under > $20.

Just added a new coil and added Japanese cotton and I'm really liking the nectar. At 1st hated it. It's a keeper now!

Just found out that in Indiana, we can order online, except for pre-made juice. So I'm about to start ordering materials for both coil rebuilds and DIY juice. So if anyone has any suggestions on favorite sites, I'd be grateful. :)

I guess the ones I order the most from for diy liquid are Nude Nicotine, and Wizard Labs.
Hardware FT if you are in no hurry to receive.

Plenty of places though.

For wire, they say Temco is a great site. I wouldn't know, I bought 6 100' spools of wire and 20 bags of JOCC from Amazon a while back and haven't needed to buy anymore.

For DIY, you'll get a lot of different answers. I personally use MyFreedomSmokes for all my ingredients. They're 100mg/ml nic is $50 For 1000ml and I think it's great. Doesn't have a peppery taste at all. They carry TFA, FW, CAP, LA and FlavourArt flavors. $2.95 for 15ml, and the price goes down the bigger the size ordered. I know a couple sites that sell the same flavors for $2.45 or so per 10ml, but a 60ml bottle from MFS costs me $1.46/10ml.

Supplies like bottles and syringes I get from Amazon.

But this is only my personal preference. I'm sure someone else will be along shortly with something totally different, and that's ok. We all prefer different methods to acquire the items we need. As long as you find something that works for you, that's the only thing that matters.
