Would you happen to know if "parasitic drain" or "idle current" can occur if you turn the mod off?

    Yes.
Some circuitry must remain active in order to detect the button clicks to turn back on. While off the current being drawn is called the “quiescent” (at rest) current. This is the term you will find in the datasheets for the chips being used by these companies and by YiHi in their datasheets for the regulators boards.

Parasitic drain and idle current, IMHO, describe different things. The parasitic current is what is drawn from the battery through unintended leakage or faulty components. What the chips draw when idle or “sleeping” isn’t a parasitic drain because it’s designed into the chip and listed in the datasheet.

The current that leaks through all capacitors, MOSFETs, and other component is parasitic current. The current that flows through contaminants on the circuit board is parasitic. Both of these are typically at the microamp level.

Idle current, for me, is the current being drawn when the device is awake but not being actively used. The screen may or may not be turned on (which significantly affects the current draw).

Parasitic drain has become the popular term for any current draw that we don’t like or can’t account for though and makes it easier to discuss when not sitting with a bunch of engineers. :D

Mooch said (li-ion myths and facts):
As long as you aren't over-stressing your battery, replace it when the performance starts to p*ss you off.

    (Consistent with what I suggested.)

The damage case is if a battery has somehow gone to under 2.5V. At that point it's time to recycle, don't bother messing with it.

That video's pretty friggin' awesome. I downloaded it to my HD and put it in my "Vape" folder. I don't trust YT.

They reserve the right to charge for the hold/pickup. At my local UPS store, it's $7. Screw that.
We just ran into that. We are pretty rural, and subject to mailbox pilferage.
Also living in a small town, buying off the net comes in handy.
We have had the same UPS mailbox for 15 years, and we go into town twice a week to pick it up.
The other day, a small package, that would of fit inside the box, had been there, on a shelf for 2 days before we hit town, and the clerk made the comment "We should charge you for holding".
    The hackles went up immediately....

We are not going to drive 50 miles roundtrip "daily" to get our mail.
If it ever happens, we will be getting a large locking mailbox at home, and save gas.

I would have totally lost it. I say totally, and I mean it.

It's one thing to say professionally and matter-of-factly that it's policy to charge for this or that, but to use it as a threat? To a paying customer? My blood pressure just shot up right now and it didn't even happen to me!

There may be other independent businesses in that town that offer mailboxes. I'd look into it. Search your city/State and Private Mailbox or something similar. I'm sure there are better search terms. they elude me at the moment.

Also, I read on the USPS website that you can get FedEx and UPS packages delivered to a PO box by addressing the package to:

    Your Name
Post Office Address #[your po box number]
    Town, XX, Zip

    Instead of...

    Your Name
PO BOX [your po box number]
    Town, XX, Zip

However, there is a USPS form you have to fill out before you're allowed to use the post office address instead of the more common PO box address. So this may be another option. Research it if it appeals to you. I only looked into it briefly.

The downside to this is, unless you rent a big PO box, you have to go pickup your packages at the counter all the time which could be a pain if your PO is a busy one. Also some POs frown upon this if you do it often because they want you to rent a bigger box. It depends on your local post office and how strict they are with the rules. My guess is if they are very busy, then they will frown upon it because PO box counter pickups create more work and longer lines.

I am going to say that with a mech mod no, but with a regulated mod yes... But the drain would probably be so minuscule it would take forever to pose a problem, unless something bizarre is going on.

EDIT: Was catching up, I see now that @Mooch answered this with more care, detail, and knowledge than I. lol

I plan on doing that for all of my mods/tanks/RDAs/RTAs/RBAs/Squonks/etc just in case YouTube bans vaping related content in the future.

See my post before Mooch's. It can only take a week or 2. Happened to me 2 times until I learned my lesson. Battery discharged to way below 2.5v (or so), but thankfully the "CID" diaphragm protection was triggered both times. Could have been disastrous or at least "not good" lol. In short, never leave a battery in a mod, even if turned off (mine weren't), for extended periods of time.

But I don't think that's the norm. I'm thinking it was an issue with the mod or the make/model of the mod. I have had batteries in different mods for weeks at a time without issue... plus what about built-in battery mods that sit on store shelves for an entire year (the same rules would apply).

Either way, for long term storage the recommendation is to pull the batteries, but I don't think of 2-4 weeks as long term storage.

That reminds me that my kitten knocked my Blade under my bed probably a month ago with batteries in it and I havent retrieved it. Bad me or bad kitten. Not sure which.

yeah. I had to google that
Then I saw that grim green had it as Vamo killer :(

I’m still not quite sure how that lanky mod stays upright with that centre of gravity

Hopefully, that's what happened. It's not that I ordered anything all that earth shattering, I just hate paying for something that never gets here. If it does get here, it sounds like from RJ's post that I'm going to get enough wicking material to last a couple lifetimes. :D I ordered 10 of those 10 packs! I also ordered 26650 batteries. They usually cost $7 or more apiece, but MBV had them at $1.30 each and Mooch gave them good ratings, so that was what I was really waiting for.
The wicks were sold as a pack of 10 boxes. Each box has 12 wicks. So you should be getting 1200 wicks if my math is correct.  When I first looked at them I thought these wicks are too short until I realized that plastic shoelace piece slides off giving more length to the wick. Maybe everybody knows that but I didn’t.

And now that I’m sitting here I think they gave me too many. I should have gotten 720 wicks but got way more...oh my it’s too early for all these numbers.

I’m in a small town, so PO lunes aren’t an issue. What is an issue (not for me because I’m retired, but for working folk) is they close at 2pm, and being a small PO, their biggest box will hold a small priority box, nothing larger. So the majority of packages go on a shelf with limited space. When that’s full, piled in the floor.

As long as I pick up my mail almost daily, and make a point if it when I know I’ve got a package, they don’t give me any grief.

There are those people though that let stuff pile up and it really makes life hard for the people who work there

I did get my order from Central vapor. It sat in a Texas post office 3 days before shipping out. (Not CV fault). Anyhow, I ordered the clone Aspire Nautilus and 1 pack of 0.7 coils. I cleaned the tank this morning and fired up a coil from the pack. I won't use the higher ohm coils included. It may not be a "authentic" but it works perfect. Good enough that I'm going to stock up on more tanks/coils from CV. I still have to try the Tesla Steampunk but kinda lazy after only getting 5 hours of sleep.

Edit: The Tesla works well for what it is. The stainless pairs well with the stainless naultilus tank. I have 2 Steampunk teslas. I need to find the box mod versions.

If you use an Android device, TubeMate is an excellent app for this.
    -launch TubeMate
-find what you want to DL on YouTube. Get the video showing in the run window of YT
-click the TM button that's overlaid on the bottom right corner of YT
-a popup appears in TM to select download resolution/file size. Pick what you want, then click the red DL button on the right side to start the DL.
-it'll dl at whatever speed it can achieve. For instance, a 180MB 1280x720 file took under 3 minutes.

Alternately, if you aren't seeing the TM button on YT, in YT select Share - Copy Link, paste the link into TM's address bar, then tap the DL button to have it open the video resolution screen.

Files get saved to the Internal Memory\Video folder on your device. You can move them to another folder (I use VapingVideos on an SD card).

Ah, Mooch beat me to it :)
    Hmmm...

Are you by chance talking about one of these?

Up/down buttons on each side. Fire button on back.
Telescopic - takes 18650/18350 and just about anything in between I guess.

    Is this what you have?

That looks more like the original Innokin SVD to me.
