For some reason the Geekvape Super Mesh x2, GT 0.4 and GT 0.5 coils all get a max of 2 weeks before they taste horrible and I have to throw them away.
Dont throw them away! Clean them in an ultrasonic cleaner. You will probably get another 2 weeks out of them maybe more.

I don't mind smok though, I know a lot of people have had problems with them, but knock on wood, I never have.

Mwhahaha a good turn of phrase there, because the only mod that ive ever been fanatical about is the Smok TreeBox Mini, the only mod Smok got right. Ive had like 6 or 7 of them depending on who you ask...and the only mod i kept one of just in case when i gave up vaping aways back...i still call the TreeBox the best TC mod ive ever used

I tried the H-Priv and others but they were all horrible instant fire & ridiculous (to me) preheating horror boxes - i actually downgraded the firmware in mine to the lowest ver to try and get the worst possible preheat profile and response times etc, nup still horrible, sold it 3 days after it arrived. p.s. i turn off preheat on DNA mods too, i dont get the point

Nup, TreeBox was the one thing they got right for me at least

Worst mod i ever used: Smok m80 a friend gave me to try (and fix) years ago, the weak battery error was diabolical and solved (somewhat) by filing the finish off the battery door....terrible bloody thing.

My wife said I'm done stocking up. I tried to tell her she's wrong but she wouldn't listen.

Don't let her find your secret stash! :)

I think my wife spends more at Hobby Lobby than I spend on ecig supplies and hardware over time.

I could (and do) happily use my 2016-2017 era gear. I do kinda regret my earlier fascination with tube mechs.

I'd say my biggest mistake was overbuying flavorings when I first started DIY. Once I tried unflavored, I gave up chasing after a flavored ADV. Except menthol. There were other flavors I liked, but nothing I could stick with day after day without change.
I admit that I've been tempted to start dabbling with flavors again, but that can wait until after May.

Stocking mine and my parent’s pantry today. I dread Walmart but my son is going to push one buggy while I push the other to keep them separate. Has anyone tried to find face masks lately? o_O Very hard to find at all much less at a reasonable price. Wow. Scary stuff. Glad I have a few bought back in 2014 when I suited up like an astronaut to break down my nic...

I vaped unflavored for a couple of years with some flavored every now and then. But the DIY bug bit me hard lately and I have tons of flavors. It keeps it fun. Now unflavored is just so blah.

My high vg (necessary due to pg sensitivity) causes my coil issues. A dropin lasts me a couple of weeks. And I’ve tried cleaning them to no avail. Black gooey stuff just won’t come off. I have enough now that I can just chuck em.

I have a question for those of you that have been stocking up for years: do you regret any of your purchases? If you’re like me, you get more excited about all the new stuff that comes out and the stuff I bought 3 years ago is no longer appealing to me. I know many are happy with gear that’s been around for years but was just curious about others who are using newer tanks and mods

I can tell you that I am satisfied with the stock I have. I have a couple of Evolve 75 squonkers, a couple of kits for DNA squonkers with 10 DNA boards to replace as needed. If everything fails, I have three mechanical squonkers to fall back on. I have atomizers that I like Entheons, VapeFly Galaxy's and Wasp Nano, all with backups.

There are no new models for either mods or atomizers that really catch my eye. I look at the flyers when they come in the email but when it comes to buying, I can't see the advantage. The two best pieces of advice I ever got on her was @Rossum encouragement to buy nicotine and store it correctly. The second was from a signature line from @tj99959 : "The biggest and most common mistake is buying product after product searching for that perfect vape instead of learning how to get that perfect vape from the products you already have."

I took both pieces of advice and today I am actually saving all of that money I thought I would save when I started vaping. The Feds and the states are going to whatever they can to get more money and have more control. But neither are getting any of my, formerly, tobacco money with their sin tax; nor, within this small realm of nicotine use, will they control my behavior to conform to the wishes of the the new class of Puritans whose most famous or infamous member is "Dr" Glanz - the sexual harasser and dishonest study author.

Hope this helps some.

Did you try an ultrasonic cleaner?
No but I’ve tried everything else. Once they get that off taste they are hard to reuse imo. If anyone uses 90-95% vg and has been successful using an ultrasonic cleaner I may consider getting one. Let me know please. But right now I don’t want to spend more money on vape stuff.

Simple paper masks can be had at any auto parts store that sells paint.

Yeah but most places are out of stock. It’s crazy. Amazon has jacked up prices shipped from China of all places to get here by APRIL. Some have shipping at $25. Walmart...oos. Target...oos. Lowe’s...oos. Walgreens and Cvs...oos. I’m glad I have plenty and enough to share with my parents. Very hard to find with reasonable prices.

Vg is a coil killer for sure. But it’s necessary for me.
If you have a puff counter, how many puffs/day are you getting? I am getting 500 puffs per day on my coils that last 2 weeks. 50:50 btw. My extreme amount of puffs per day I think is why my coils last only 2 weeks. I cant remember who it is thats on an extreme amount of weeks but theirs may depend on puffs/day, flavorings or not etc.

Anyways I am happy with 2 weeks for a coil. It means at least for this one I have 32 year supply without even cleaning.

As far as the ultrasonic cleaner I have used one before and can verify little bits of black gunk come off in the water and the coil was usable once again.

Can you suggest any single battery or dual (parallel only) box mechs to look into? Was gonna buy some noisey crickets until I realized they were series, not parallel, mods. Not interested in vaping 7+ volts lol

Look at the Dovpo/Signature Tips/Mike Vapes Clutch mech mod. It's getting stellar reviews so far. I'll be able to give personal experience tomorrow as I'm getting one in the mail today. @Hightech Redneck has one and I think a couple others do as well.

What about older models that can be bought for, say, under $15? Anything decent in that price range? Decent meaning decent for a tootle-puffing, occasional user.

Noisey cricket was selling for under $5 lol

I was going to buy a few and see if I could mod them into a single or dual parallel mods, but gave that idea up when I read about safety issues (don't remember what they were but I do remember seeing that FatDaddyVapes sold some sort of kit to rectify the issue).

Between the safety issues, the series config, and the top fire button, I decided to save my money.

Have fun! Face masks are hard to find but still available here and there if you search.

$17.46 SOB Parallel Styled Hybrid 18650 Mechanical Mod - 2*18650 / resin + aluminum / random color resin part at FastTech - Free Shipping

I have their series version of this mod and I really like it. I don't have a parallel though.

fwiw,, more than likely you are better off with the buffs i posted yesterday or small microfiber washclothes folded in half (besides being more stylish) companies use the paper masks as costs savings,, toss away rather than have someone clean and inspect after every use/wash.

several patterns,, might as well be stylish,, you can even 'fold them over a bit' to cover your face. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079P37YVB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
