Pelon... like the iron on stuff?
The pelon I have is not Iron on, it is what is used as a fabric stiffener or to give more body to a fabric. It varies from light weight to heavy weight. I have the heavy weight. It is sewn in.

Hubby went for water today, no water, no TP, 18 eggs were $6! Crazy. He did say about everyone was wearing a mask. Fortunately he found a place to get water and fill your own gal jugs, so we are set for quite awhile. He said he is getting used to routine now, he wears a mask & gloves. I told him everything you take into the store is contaminated so he knows the drill. I wash off everything brought inside and he leaves shoes outside for 5 days, clothes go straight into washer. Mask decontamination is done outside in sun for several days then a light spray of alcohol. We have a pretty good system going :)

I have a doc appt. next week.

They called and said they will be doing a video checkup.

I told them I don't do video anything...we will do it over the phone.

They said, that's fine.

I call the shots. Sick of this...

I did exactly the same thing with the same results.

I have been lucky (like winning the lottery lucky) on Amazon with tp. I have found you have to be lightning fast using the buy now feature and look often and at odd times. It pops up and is quickly gone. I snagged some paper towels this morning too. I read an article that said some meat packing plants are closing due to the illness of its employees with the virus. I don't want to get out but I feel the need to go get my son some more meat. We have a good supply of everything except hamburger meat and that's his favorite.

My son's college announced yesterday there will be no in-person summer classes and they will all be done online. He's happy about it and it has its advantages like saving me money on gas, food, wear and tear on his truck, etc, but I'm just ready for this virus to go away and everyone get back to normal. Although I'm enjoying working from home.

The school district here hasn't decided officially to call an end to the school year. Officially they go back the 13th of April even though the Governor extended the stay at home to April 30th. We figure the school board meeting scheduled for the 12th they will either push it out to the 30th or kill school for the year.

That has left my hubby and the other Speech and Language Therapist/Teachers in a real mess. Because the year hasn't officially ended they are required by law to continue providing services to the students that require them. Not an easy thing to do when face to face is forbidden and many students have no computers, smartphones or iPads. Even for those that do what he does also falls under HIPPA just like Doctors. They have been trying to hash out how to work it all out. I figure by the time they have something up and running the district will have called it for the year.

We have been doing the grocery thing via curbside pickup. Both SUper1Foods and Walmart offer it for free on orders of $30 or more. I do the order on the computer or Phone app and set a time to pick it up. They text me when it is ready. I go and park in a designated spot and text them the spot number. I pop the liftgate of the car. they load the groceries and close the liftgate. I am done and on my way home with little contact with anyone.

I got lucky and actually snagged a small pack of paper towels. Still no TP to be found. Fortunately we don't actually NEED TP yet. End of Month might be a different story though.I just keep looking anyways given how hard it is to find here if I do I am grabbing a pack. I would have thought the TP issues would have let up by now given how many should be stocked up on it.

In other news My AUssie buddy that I sent the Snowwolf Exilis kit to reports that the thing is working fantastically for him and he is up to vaping half the time and smoking half the time. Slowly working on going to all vaping. He says it never leaks for him. So if anyone is looking for a pod maybe look into that one. The coils CAN be rebuilt although it really is not designed for that.

iVapeSupply got more of their disposable masks in stock. The 50 pack is $37.97, but if you use the code CNY30 it's $26.58 +$6 S/H. I ordered 5 packs of them on Monday, (S/H was $9 for that many) and they're being delivered today by USPS.

Some are going to a friend who has 2 daughters who are nurses. At the central Florida hospital where 1 of them works...each nurse gets (1) N95 mask per week, to wear only when working with confirmed COVID-19 patients. She also gets only (1) disposable mask like I ordered...per day...to wear when working with other patients. The other daughter works at a very large local medical facility, and the situation for her is nearly the same.

Other packs are going to retired teachers I worked with for years. One has a nextdoor neighbor who is a nurse at the local hospital. They're extremely low on masks of any kind. She's been able to use only 5 disposable masks per week...no matter what type of patients she's been working with. So she's receiving a bunch of them. The other retired teacher and her husband both have several on-going medical issues that the CDC listed as definitely putting them in the high risk group. They're getting a pack, too.

So, if anyone else knows of nurses who are in dire need of masks, and/or others who definitely need the added protection...you might want to either order some for them, or pass the word along about these.

Put a cowboy hat on that guy and he could be a bad guy in a cowboy movie! I'd hate to have to walk in a bank with that on. The guards would get uneasy in a minute ...

Daughter who is a nurse had her mask allocation reduced from one a day to one a week. A friend is making really good washable masks for her with replaceable filters. They had a major fight with management about wearing their own masks but in the end it was allowed.

She works at one end of a huge medical campus. There is a parking lot and entrance right there but only office staff and medical insurance staff and visitors were allowed to go in that way. Now there's no visitors so the lot is mostly empty but they still won't let them use it. They did make an exception for senior doctors. Everyone else has to go in the main entrance at the other end of the complex and walk half a mile through hospital corridors, even passing by CV treatment sections.

During this walk they weren't allowed to wear masks and were told they could be dismissed for doing it. Now the nurses all use bandanas when they are walking around and they aren't disciplining anyone for that.

The world is run by idiots.

An organized walk with masks on would end that crap quick. No need to strike or any of that, silent organized civil disobedience, if disciplined what will they do, lay the whole of nurses bunch off? No nurses, no hospital.

LOL. They would rather lose desperately-needed hospital staff?
Sounds like criminal behavior given this is a pandemic.

Unfortunately woven fabric alone does not filter down to 0.1 micron (the size of the virus). But if it makes them feel more psychologically secure that is worth something to some degree. I hope they can find some filters to incorporate into the bandanas.

I tried ordering a pack but the site is giving me problems. Can't get off the shopping cart page. It won't let me apply the discount or go to checkout. It says they have 30 left, it was 31 when I started.

I think I have some left over from making some formal drapes. It just looks like a much thicker version of the iron on stuff? I’m sure nothing is in the original packaging. TY, I’ll pass it on to my youngest. She’s making masks to offer their patients if they don’t have one, as are primarily elderly.

Hospital purchasing departments seem to be utterly incompetent. Surgical masks are readily available if one knows where to look, and if one is willing to pay for them.

Creatures of habit, their supplier is out, well heck, you just can't get them. And, from personal experience, I am saying this very surreptitiously some have "favorable" agreements with "favored" suppliers.

Wear a mask, put a bandana over it (if a company is being dumb about masks).

I ordered a 50 of masks on Amazon back on 20 Mar, $20. Since shipping status is showing as departed from airport it'll likely be here by late this month.

BIL is a practicing doctor, knows we have some masks on hand if he needs them.
