Somewhere out there
Well dont feel bad I grabbed coils. In case that last fasttech order never comes through (been waiting for it to ship for MONTHS)

I was surprised to see they still have the iJoy Mercury pod/aio kits and coils. I have 2, really like then, so I had to pick up another in the color I don't already have and coils. And I bought a couple bottles of eliquid, just as a change up from my DIY.

I've been done however I do window shop as I call it. I did wind up on vapesourcing and noticed the smoant knight mod pod kit 80w...it certainly looks interesting to me. I don't need it as I have several pasitos...but...I did spot an RTA I've admired for awhile...I've never planned to order from China but I ordered it 4/12, it hit ORD 4/23 and hung around there for several days, went to Houston, and I should get it next week. The process was quicker than I expected.

I don't know....I've got a feeling they're barking up the wrong tree. When I first started reading about smokers contracting it less, I never thought it was nicotine. My first thought was that smoking itself created an inhospitable environment for the virus in the air passages. And that vaping may or may not give the same benefit.

Of course, at that time, I hadn't heard anything about nic blocking receptors covid uses. It'll be interesting to see what comes of this, though. Some of us may have freezers full of Corona-killer.

Nobody was investigating nicotine for the virus until it was noticed that smokers were underrepresented by 4 times when people came too the hospital and tested positive. They are singling out nicotine for a closer look because there is a known mechanism and nicotine patches already exist meaning a fast and easy study.

If nicotine turns in to a Cinderella story it's very inconvenient for the tobacco control crowd. If I was in one of the high risk groups I would have some patches, gum, losenges in stock just in case.

I've been doing some reading and I'm coming across conflicting data. There's the Chinese and French studies that say that there's fewer smokers with covid19, possibly due to down regulation of ACE2 receptors. Then there's this article, which has many references, that says nicotine upregulates ACE2 receptors.

Bottom line is they just don't know. I wouldn't recommend nicotine for nonsmokers, but I'm not going to quit vaping.

Oh...the 1.6ohm "Z-Coils" will fit/work in the Zenith tanks and the Zlide tanks. They're compatable with any/all of them except the Zenith Pro Tank that came out recently, IIRC. It's just that there were numerous complaints about the "Z-Coils" (ie. a "burnt" dud or 2 in boxes, they didn't last nearly as long, etc.), compared to the original ones named "Zenith Coils" (had no issues with them). Innokin was made aware of the issues and said they'd work on correcting them. So, these Z-Coils might have been manufactured "pre the fix" or maybe "post the fix". That's why I wanted the "Zenith Coils"...not the Z-Coils.

Why wouldn't the Z-coil work with the Z Pro Tank? It was my understanding it was only the packaging that changed not the shape/size/fit of the coil. I actually think my wife is using the Z-coil in her Pro Thank without a problem. At least the currently opened box is a Z-Coil package.

Ok, just is s qucikie google-fu and these is what's packaged with the Pro Tank

    • Includes (1) Zenith Z-Coil 1.2ohm Atomizer Head (Pre-installed) (Designed for 10 - 14W)
    • Includes (1) Zenith Z-Pro RDL 1.0ohm Atomizer Head (Designed for 20 - 25W)
So the Z-coils will work but there is a slightly redesigned 'Pro' coil with more airflow to use at higher wattage settings.

I just had to quell a bad feeling and order a couple more small bottles of nik solution. I think if we can still buy in the near future, they are going to tax the heck out of everything they can soon because of the economic situation. Camel regulars were already $10 a pack around here because of taxes. I remember 45 cents in the vending machines, book of matches too.:(

$0.65 when I started smoking in '89. But I think they got rid of vending machines by then but I remember them.

It was my understanding it was only the packaging that changed not the shape/size/fit of the coil.

Honestly, I don't think the problem is so much about the "Packaging" - nor the "Coils" themselves . . . As @JCinFLA mentioned - some people, not everyone - found that the "Newer" Z Coils to be problematic - ex: NOT lasting as long & "Duds" (BTW: I personally can attest to a couple of "Duds") . . . The other problem is/are the Vendors who misrepresent the product they are selling using the older images and descriptions for Zenith/Zlide coils, but sending the Z- coils instead . . . As "JCinFLA" also mentioned in her post - she called the vendor prior to ordering, especially to make sure these were the original Zenith Coils and was informed they were - that is why she ordered them and pass the "Word" on to the rest of "Us" . . . NOT NICE ! ! !

Worse - To "ME" - Some of these vendors are charging different prices for Zenith - Zlide coils - yet sending Z - Coils in their place . . . As an example (which I also posted previously in a couple of threads, including Innokins New Packaging ? ? ? Zenith Coils are now Z Coils ? ? ? and this thread): A few months ago I purchased both Zenith Coils & Zlide Coils and that were labeled as such on the vendors website; They were also listed at different prices $14. / $9 respectively too. However, I was sent Z-Coils. When I contacted them about this - I was informed of the change in packing and that they were still the same coil that can be used in a number of different Innokin tanks now. As a result - I question the difference in prices and being overcharged - I asked to be refunded the difference in price (over $30) since I received the same coils. Their response was that would give me "points' / credit - no cash refund . . . Talk about - Not Nice ! ! !

I don't know about you or anyone else, however I find the "Bate & Switch" practices of some Vendors is without a doubt unacceptable. As a result they will not get business no matter how inexpensive their prices might be . . . Just Sayin' . . .

I’m impressed! How did u do that?
Took apart coilhead and picked out all the cotton including cotton between inner and our walls.
Used stainess screws to close off 2 of the 4 holes and made them flush by carful grinding screw head and enlarged somewhat the remaining 2 holes made horizontal coil to fit dry burned and after coil cooled installed cotton same as re-wicking a CLR now.

I was going to try the same approach with Nautilus BVC coil, except I was going to have my brother silver solder the 2 holes closed. I didn't think silver solder would be hazardous, vape-wise, but if anyone knows differently, please let me know.

I'm no expert, but two points I see. First, make sure the solder is 100 percent silver, and does not contain lead. Secondly, make sure the solder doesn't touch the coil, causing a short.

I'm not sure if the heat of the coil firing will melt the solder even if the solder is not in direct contact with the coil. Perhaps someone has tried it already, and can tell you if it works or not.

Something I've used frequently to plug the center pin hole in 510 extenders is jb weld. When set it's food safe and can handle temps up to 550F. I've also used it to lock the vapefly galaxies rdta side air screws in the open position, a tiny dab once they've been unscrewed to open the ports.

They also make a high heat version, but I've never run across a need for it.

Reluctantly showing my age.....but, I remember paying .27 a pack for Winston's when I was about 13. I remember giving the small corner grocery store clerk a quarter and a nickel, and getting three pennies back.
