How easy is it to blend up your own vape blends??? - And what type of equipment do you need???

Easy.

IMHO, by weight is the "easiest" way. But others prefer to mix by volume. If you only vape 2ml a day, mixing by volume might be better in terms of up-front cost unless you already have a scale. You have to figure out which is best for you.

Video on mixing by weight.

I buy most of mine from heartland vapes. It’s not hard to blend or mix your own. You need pg, vg, nic, flavors and I’d recommend a scale that goes down at least to .001 grams.

Not sure if 0.001 was a typo, and I could be wrong, but I think most people on ECF who mix by weight seem to use 0.1 gram and 0.01 gram scales. In my shopping around for scales, I found these to be the most reasonably priced.

So I did some research - right now there are plenty of dealers selling nicotine BUT didn't I read somewhere that some states have outlawed its sale to the general public???

Will the coming USPS postal ban effect shipping nicotine and/or nicotine salts?

It's hard keeping track of all these rules and regulations and anything can happen from one day to the next in terms of state-mandated bans and restrictions, let alone federal. They even tried to use coronoavirus as an excuse to outright ban the sale of any vape products nation-wide last year. And I would not put it passed them to try it again.

And that's why people who are into stocking up on vape supplies have already done so at this point. That's why this once-hopping thread isn't so hopping anymore :D

The way things may seem to be going in the USA, there may not be much time to try to make sense of anything and waiting until the last minute was never a viable prepping strategy (regardless of what you're prepping for - apocalypse, vapocalypse or whatever).

At this time, IMHO and estimation, anyone who wants to stock up doesn't really have luxury of doing research into laws and regulations and what "might not" happen or how long it will be until total vapocalypse and whatnot.

You will need to buy:
  • hardware (mods, tanks/RDAs and/or pods systems)
  • factory coil heads (if that's what you prefer to use)
  • nicotine base
Stocking up on anything else, IMHO, is not needed because I see no way how anything else could ever be banned or restricted since they have been sold for non-vaping applications by non-vape suppliers forever (PG, VG, flavoring, wick material, wire, scales, bottles, mixing supplies).

Yes it was a typo. I meant .01. Thanks for catching that. I got my scale on Amazon for about $25 which I thought was reasonable. The one I bought is available on eBay. It’s a model SF-400D2.

I first bout the American Weigh Scale LB-501 from an Amazon seller (because it's one that is recommended here) but it arrived defective.

Returned that then shopped around. Almost bought the SF-400D2 but I couldn't find instructions on how to calibrate it and read somewhere that the instructions it comes with didn't mention anything about calibration.

Was in a hurry to buy a scale so I gave up looking into the SF-400D2 and ended up buying the LB-501 again from a different Amazon seller. So far so good, but I haven't gotten a lot of use out of it yet. Time will tell. But it supposedly has a good warranty.

    I have a small battery operated gram scale used for weighing gold {rings and other small jewelry}
    - Will that kind of scale do the trick ?

Reading through all this is kind of scary. I knew about the USPS vape mail ban but I had NO idea that Fedex would even consider following suit.

Then again... that's why I have thousands of dollars of vape gear and nicotine that's been sitting for a couple years now.

Also quick question... I just dropped and put a small dent in my battery. I've vaped on worse but do you guys worry about small dents?

Being how dangerous these batts can be, and being that you live in the USA where these batteries are relatively cheap, I'd just toss it.

Keep an eye out on 18650batterystore's deals of the day. They often have crazy good deals on decent batteries (at least they did last year). Unfortunately not at the moment, though.

Ugh it's barely visible but I know you're probably right. This is just the third time I'm replacing these two batteries in the past year and meanwhile the 2nd set has been in rotation the entire time.

Silver lining... I just looked and I have 3 doubles of 18650 batteries left in the stash. Charging now.

I don’t think you can calibrate it. I just turn it on, sit a bottle on it and hit the tare(zero) button before mixing. It’s close enough for me.

If it's resolution is at least 0.01 gm, yes.

Came across a few Eightvape coupons. I didn't try them so YMMV

25% Off VooPoo Vinci - VINCI
25% Off Freemax MaxPod - MAXPOD
10% Off Saucy Liquids - SAUCY
    Ya made me look.
For those who didn't, code Apologetic25 gives 25% off an order. Today & tomorrow only, i believe.

i ordered from EightVape some months back... They kinda bug me: 'Add accident insurance $X' 'Add shipping protection $X 'Free gift with your order' (but not free if you use a discount code). Regardless, 25% off ain't bad, if they've anything left in stock that someone wants.

With the shipping changes coming up I went for a bunch of the 0mg Killer Kustard Kanger Wholesale had up for $.99/100ml. Likely my last purchase of premix, filling out the basement fridge liquid shelf. It'll be nice to have a bunch of choices for the next couple years when I'm feeling too lazy to mix. Lots of 0mg liquids to add nic to when the time comes.

I bought a bunch of liquids in regular plastic bottles they come in. I put one in the frigerator and one in the freezer {it does not freeze anyway}.
What I'm testing for, and am asking you, does this frige or freezer effect the flavor or consistency of the liquid when thawed ?

About how long will they stay good this way?

I bought extra smok devices and I don't think you can change the batteries in them - Will the batteries keep longer if I also put them the refrigerator ?

    Thanks!

With liquid that has nic, I've had good luck keeping it in the fridge for a year or two and they seemed unchanged, even the ones in plastic. Mostly mint/menthol/tobacco/custard for me - other flavors might not fare as well. I started getting 0mg liquid for longer term stocking as it doesn't seem to degrade much at all until nic is introduced. I'll transfer some of the larger quantities in plastic bottles to glass for longer term storage.

I've kept an eye out for vendors dumping eliquid and once in a while one of my favorites shows up dirt cheap. There's a chance some liquid might show up at very low cost for a bit as we approach the USPS shipping ban but it's not a sure thing.

When it comes to batteries I haven't kept them in the fridge, just a cool basement. I read some time ago that colder temperatures may not be good for storing lithium batteries, then recently have read the opposite. For now the liquid gets the space in the fridge. Rossum and Mooch have posted some thoughts on it and are much more knowledgeable than I.

The condensation from the freezer wouldn't be good for your devices' electronics. I think you would kill the mod faster that way than any benefits you would gain by extending their battery life. Your best bet is to store them in a cool, dry location in your home.

I wouldn't keep a mod in a fridge, there's moisture in the fridge.

Integrated battery mods are a problem in a vapocalypse scenario. People in this thread that bought integrated mods in 2019 when they were too cheap to pass up have expressed plans to use them now while they are still usable. That's the best strategy with these mods IMHO.

OK, so the PMTA Vapopacylse so far has turned out to be much ado about nothing - I know it can still evolve badly. The USPS ban might be a little more concerning now.

    I've already bought 3 Smok Novo 2s and a Uwell Caliburn which is giving me a serious burnt taste {maybe a defective pod?}
and a bunch of pods and maybe 20 bottles of juice -
Still I used to be a pipe and cigar smoker and was going to buy one of those vape devices that looks like a pipe {any recommended?}- But I no longer miss the pipe.

But I still want a good full size device that I can use and use over and over again and I can buy a bunch of coils for cheap, the battery is replaceable with commonly used batteries that will not be hard to get and is known for reliability and few problems ?
Pipe smokers grow attached to favorite pipes - Give me a reliable easy to manage vape device that I can really like and will last me trough any vapopaclypse in the future.
    Thanks!

PS: If vaping.com has it all the better
