The condom method. It's messy but is the fast track way to prime.

Fill a condom cap with juice and press the carto, thread down into the cap, till the juice pools at the top. Leave it for a couple minutes.

Then when you first fire it, start low, and work the volts up in 1/4 volt intervals.

Since I have been doing this, I have not once got a burny start.

If you like the Vision vivi novas ( I do too ), I believe they have them in Pyrex at My Vapor Store. Sorry I don't have a link to provide, but check it out. I'm using the mini metal vivis I had for my spinners on my Provari and am getting a great taste and loads of clouds, especially after rebuilding the heads.

I'm preferring my Vison Vivi Nova to the Protank 2 that came with my Provari. If only the Vivi were glass... I am also getting in some (5 boxes) XL Boge 3.0 ohm (non punched). I figure I can use these for trying out my liquid samples. I'll get some carto tanks next paycheck. I'm thinking Valley Vapes, myself. Does anyone like grommets? I was thinking of getting a few for backups to the caps.

I believe it's Smoktech that makes the Pyrex Vivi Novas, Mad Vapes sells them too.

One of the first tanks I got was a VVV with grommets, I won it in a contest. It takes some effort to get used to getting new cartos installed; the grommets slide and it's hard to get them even. They are also so tight a "tank tool" won't work. The upside is grommets are thick and so tight that even if sliced they don't leak. Once you get used to them, the side screw is very cool, so it's sort of a trade off. I have ended up using mine more than any other tank, and haven't had it leak one drop in almost a year.

Just be aware that Ray (the owner) has had some family issues going on recently and is only been open sporadically. Your best bet would be to get on his mailing list or check his thread under the Suppliers Forum periodically.

ETA: Trying out new juice with a carto is a PITA and can waste a lot of juice. I suggest you try plain direct dripping. It takes a little practice, but nowhere near the effort to prime a carto. You can getting a plain 510 or 306 atty for roughly $6.. I have a brief overview you might find helpful: Drip, Drip, Drip…

ETA: Darn it! I should have added this earlier. VVV sells the same tanks with caps, they just cost a little more.

Using a drip atomizer to sample new flavors is a great idea, as The Ocelot said.

However a less expensive method to use if you're not a dripper would be a Nano clearomizer. They're pretty inexpensive and just as easy to use, and re-usable. However, they may mute some flavors like any clearomizer might. They are also made of polycarbonate, so not safe for the tank-cracking flavors.

I like that idea. I got a 510 drip atty recently, and it's great for taste testing, but it's too easy to get A.D.D. and keep switching flavors. I'm having a hard time really getting to know a knew juice to learn if it's something I can vape for better parts of the day.

I could keep a couple nana clears in my togo case and pop them in at different times of the day to see if new flavors will work with my everchanging flavor demands through out the day. I'm gonna have to score a handful of those. Thanks.

I have a question about a tank that is by no means a high dollar tank. It's the Tumbler BCC. I've watched a couple video reviews and read some more info on it and it seems to be a vaping beast. It's made of polypro so is good for citrus juices and they say the taste is pretty good. It holds 3.5 ml....not bad. I just really like the design of it and would like to have a couple for non cracking juices and for being out on the go. However, I don't know if it will fit on the Provari because of its unusual shape. It flares out above the bottom threads. I can't find the answer anywhere. Does anyone know if this will work on the Provari? Here's a link. Thanks guys! Colored Tumbler Bottom Coil Tanks

I use CE3 XL clearos for that. They come in a 5-pack. Some people don't like them because you have to fill them with a syringe and trying to clean them out is pointless. There are videos on youtube with directions on how to clean them, but at the price, I'll stick with pointless. One clearo; one flavor; dead clearo; hello trash can.

I was under the impression that tank-crackers like high citrus aren't safe to use in polypropylene tanks. Glass is the only absolute for the predatory juices.

You would need a 510 to eGo adaptor. I've seen those before and thought the shape was cute. I didn't realize it was polypro (although it's frosted, which is a good indication).

Just for reference, this it the threading on a eGo battery. As you see, it has two different sized threads. The ProVari only has the 510 threading, so anytime you see a device with a recessed pin like the CE4 in the picture, it won't work on a ProVari without an adaptor. Devices with a straight 510 connection have the pin sticking out of the bottom.

Polypropylene is fine with tank cracking juices. It's polycarbonate, polycarb blends and acrylic that degrade. Polypro isn't clear, so a frosted tank is a good indication of the material, but I would do research anyway, if I planned to use it with predators. :)

ETA: Te CE3 XLs are also called "Raven Bottom Coil Cartos" by some vendors, even though they are clearos. Steel Jan has a good review of them on youtube under the Raven name. An important thing to remember, that she doesn't mention in her video, is when you use the syringe to fill them, make sure all of the air is out of the syringe, like you were giving an injection.

Polypropylene is a safe plastic for use with the tank-cracking flavors. As Ocey said, its polycarbonate which has a chemical reaction with the volatile flavors. A relatively easy way to tell the difference is if the material is clear or frosted.

Frosted = polypropylene. Clear = polycarbonate. Something Safe for Cinnamon & Citrus Flavors

Polycarbonate tanks are the ones that crack. Polypropylenes are crack proof. You can tell the difference quite easily. Polycarb tanks, or clearos, are just that, clear. Polypro tanks are dull, or frosted looking. They're much softer, generally thicker, and very tough. I've been using 2 Polypro Carto Tanks from High Desert Vapes for quite some time with cinnamon roll, maraschino cherry, coffees, and all of my citruses with no cracking whatsoever. These come in many great colors and are a solid tank. I love them. Poly Pro Tank - High Desert Vapes

I got one to play around with a while ago. I managed to screw it on to one of my Tritons. Hit great, good juice taste, but leaked and the 'metal' mouthpiece tasted really bad after about half a tank. Went right into the trash.

You would need a 510 to eGo adapter to get it on a ProVari. With the adapter, the flare shouldn't be an issue.

I do have a couple of those already. I think the Tumblers are really cute....must be the ole hippie in me luv'n on the lava lamp shape!! I'm going to grab a couple for sure. Oh, and I should have read all the way through the thread. You and Bad both beat me to the polypro/polycarb explanation...that's me....a day late and a dollar short!! :?:
