Who knows if the tubes got stressed during delivery and GB just finished the job but I am back with the SS as the DiD only sees GB juice anyways...sucks not knowing the lvl though as sometimes when I shove a needle in it,it just overflows through the mesh and let me think its full when its just an odd air bubble magic trick.

Heh. And here I thought the air bubble thing only happened to me.

I have my own system.. I weighed my Line SS with drip tip on my kitchen scale.. 32grams..empty 37grams full..
In the morning as part of getting ready to leave a quick weight of the Line usually about 34grams add 1.5ml and it is almost full. It worked out to about .05ml per gram...

The DiD I never weighed so I empty it with the syringe note how much push it back in and fill the difference...

I have been think about designing a simple dipstick..:p

Update on the short version DID that I got from teabagger. It's working well, and is a confirmed juice hog. The wicks and coils are not difficult to make, but you do require a device or tool that you can use to measure your results and also then accordingly set your voltage for vaping. This is not one of those, I can vape on everything kinda tanks. Here's some shots of my first and second coil efforts. They took on average around 15 minutes to put together. First one checked in at 1.8ohms and the second one was 2.1ohms.

Don't forget i have a clear tank coming for that still, i will get it to ya sometime(it only took 8months for the drip shields), maybe next vape meet if i can make it.

No worries dude. I'm good for now..

How's the flavour of GB in it?

I find that it varies a lot;

Sometimes mostly GB,sometimes sweet GB (even though the bottle you sold me states ''unsweetened''!!!) sometimes hint of everything, sometimes mostly cinnamon...depends on the lvl of liquid in the tank I guess.

I said this to Martin last night. It's getting there. I think it partially has to do with the coil and mesh breaking in, but sometimes it's pure and heaven, at other times it's almost not all there. The flavour is pure though, no burnt issues and no aftertaste.

I'll keep you posted over the next few days about how it develops.

Yes, it will give you a higher resistance if you wrap more coils. You could also get a higher resistance by rolling a slightly thicker wick. So, if 5 wraps on a thin wick gives you 2.5 ohms, you could possibly get 2.5 ohms with 4 coils on a thinner wick.

As for what would happen if you vaped a 1.8 ohm coil at 5v, a lot would depend on your juice and your tolerance level. You will be putting out 13 watts to your coil and most juices would burn at that level. I normally vape in the 8 - 8.5 watt level, and from what you've said even with your lower res atty at 2.7ohms, you are only getting a little over 9 watts. I would expect a 1.8 ohm coil to be practically unvapable.

I vape my Genesis at 4.36v to 4.4v under load, (4.6 volts unloaded) on a 1.5 ohms coil, so around 12.5+ watts and I can still get a good taste, I'll grant you it depends on juices, but those that can't make it to that wattage just don't make it to the Genesis :p

I just ordered "The DID" after i payed though i thought CRAP i vape 2.7-3.6 ohm Atty's on my 5V GLV all the videos I've seen people always get 1.8 ohm from their RTA's will wrapping the wick a couple more times bring that up?
What you want to try is a Higher awg wire, which is actually thinner but has more resistance per foot.
Those 1.8Ω wraps are using 32awg. Try the thinner 34awg and 36awg.
Also, if you get too many wraps, there's more delay time to heat up the coil.
So the logical step is to step up the wire gauage.

Nichrome 80 wire
AWG - Ω per Foot
32 - 10.55
34 - 16.66
36 - 25.12

As you see, the thinner 34 AWG is 50% more resistance as AWG 32. And the really thin 36 AWG is over twice the resistance. Drawback is the thinner the more fragile.

The numbers are slightly different for Kanthal wire but the step ups in resistance is about the same.

I`ve recoiled my DiD 3 times tonight...grrrr

Instances in which you might need a recoil:

-drop the whole thing on the floor (sometimes just a knock down on desktop)
-mesh gunks up,something weird happens then
-running out of juice (unoticeable hotspot masked by properly wicking mesh)

1st coil was just annoying....20 minutes of vapin`,then F1...tried moving mesh,moving coil...nothing would work...f2-f2-f2
2nd coil was perfect at 2.3 ohms...GB flavor was way up there,vapor production awesome,total bliss....then i knocked it down...f2-f1-f1-f1
for the 3rd,I flipped the mesh upside down, rolling paper, new 2.9 ohms coil (helps for spikes) still breaking it in...but I dont rely on my DiD for at work vapin`...that`s the 100% reliable svoemesto`s job.

Got Line,GLV,RTA,Scubagen...I make a coil on them and can go weeks w/o recoiling...damn DiD is a high maintenance mistress...but a bombshell sexnutcase of a mistress

Ain't that the truth!

Stuck with 30 gauge? (I think) Kanthal D right now as I'm waiting on my Jugheads order. 3/4 wrap at 1.1-1.2 ohm at 3.9v and it's running like a champ. Waiting for my Kanthal A 32 from Juggys before wrapping a new coil, just hoping this keeps going as it has for the last few days, keep in mind thats with the occasional wick movement or little turn on the top two brass nuts.
