18650 battery is a 3.7 volt battery, so with or without resistor it is only 3.7 volt. The resistor is for use with 2 3volt battery to "calm" it down to 5volts. So 2 3v rcr123a with resistor runs at 5volt with out resistor runs at 6volts. 18650 with or without resistor runs at 3.7 volt. Hope that helps.

You can run the 18650 with the resistored switch but I don't think it will perform well. Here's an old Steve quote:

Cash said in a different thread that the Prodigy might be available in Stainless steel in the future. If so, how long in the future? Can i preorder one? lol seriously.

One day at a time Kard. Don't know yet.

1 more question.
The prodigy with resistor runs on 2 rcr123a batteries and that is 5 volts. The prodigy with resistor and 1 18650 runs at 3.7 volts. without resistor 1 18650 runs at 6v.
Is that correct? or do I have it backwards?

Actually, the resistored switch reduces the voltage by 10-20% of whatever battery you put into it. So, the 3.7v battery with the resistored switch would be even lower= not worth it.

UPDATE:

Ok, I am going to be MIA for the rest of the day. Just putting that out there. I've got over 50 PMS, tons of tickets, and about 150 orders to fill today. That being said- if you pm'd me over the weekend, I'm getting there. I'm only one person guys, so please be patient. I know some of you are having issues, but please understand that I answer everything in the order it comes in, and if you've PM'd me 15 times, it takes me a little bit to make sure I read all 15 before responding.

We're working on getting caught up from the weekend, so this may take a day or two. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause some of you, but like I said, I'm only one person, and Steve has plenty to do as well. We will get to you, I promise.

Thanks for the update Casey, with all those pre-orders on top of outgoing orders I would imagine you're going a little crazy over there.
When you're the best, there's no need to apologize... but I'm glad you do anyway because it shows you care :D

Seriously, who'd wanna be in her shoes right now? I'm thinking perhaps we should pass the hat for donations to her favorite massage therapist.
