Chit Chat in VOLTVILLE Thread #2 :)

We are having a lukewarm, brown Christmas, it even said so in the newspaper. I AM NOT complaining about the lack of cold, icy, snowy weather, not at all.

I am trying keep my chin up this year, but this will be the first Christmas that my oldest son (and my 3 little grandsons) will not be at my house. He and my DIL are having major differences, to put things mildly, and things are up in the air over at their house. I feel really bad for the boys, and I will probably get to see them soon, but I will no longer be dealing with the DIL on any level. She does not want them to come to my house at all anymore, ugh. I have tried my best, and this has been escalating for some time, Thanksgiving was the last straw for me. See, I'm such a downer, I have been staying quiet(er) because of this.

Qew, I hope things work out a lot better for you. I'm with you, I haven't even brought the snow blower up to its parking spot behind the house yet, and if I'm lucky I won't have to for a change.

Thanks Awsum. I hope your luck holds out, that snow blower needs a year off. We did use ours once, we got a foot of snow in one day, then it melted quick in the next few days, it was GREAT! I think that qualifies as winter, don't you? I'm skipping right to booze tonight, lol!

It's a tuff night. "A Christmas Story" on one channel and "Christmas Vacation" on another channel. "A Christmas Story" brings back a lot of memories. I used to listen to Jean Shepard on WOR(AM) every Friday night and he was one great story teller.

It is snowing here but not sticking. However, they have 6 inches in Carson City so go figure.

Yeah, we need a freeze here, too, Wuzz. The fruit trees need that as a signal to start the blooming process. I'll bet we get that freeze before much longer. It was the same way here last year, until mid January. The it got colder than a bill collectors heart.

How are you and Mrs. Wuzz doing?

Sorry to say not all that great Awsum, but thanx for asking. They're doing everything they can for her. It's going to be a couple more months before they can do the next scan. They are doing a little more radiation but have to be careful. It could paralyze her if they give her too much. It's resistant to chemo so they're trying a new treatment that has recently been approved.

"A Christmas Story" features, among other things, the "leg lamp" and the "Red RIder BB Gun" (you'll shoot your eye out kid). One of these days I'm going to buy a leg lamp and put it in the window at Christmas. They are available from fleabay, of course, LOL.

I hope Santa brought everyone some cheer and goodies and everyone had a nice day.

fWe were at my daughters house for festivities and food. Even Bo came with us this year so we were able to stay reasonably late. Of course, we over ate and everyone got things they liked, or appeared to at least. Bo got a small sample of the prime rib we had for dinner so even he enjoyed himself in spite of my daughters hyperactive Labradoodle, Molly.

Lizzie, I've got a horse picture I took for you on my phone. I'll download it tomorrow and post it. One of my daughters neighbors has horses and he walks one of them like you'd walk a dog. Really weird to see horse on a "leash" walking nicely down the sidewalk with his owner. Of course, if the horse bolts it could get a little messy, LOL, and I wonder about a pooper scooper for a horse.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate all the well wishes, but please, send all your extra thoughts and prayers to Wuzz and his wife. My 'problems' are no big deal compared to fighting for her health.

Glad to see you stop in Terry! I'm glad you and BF got to spend the Christmas together, along with the extra time. Please add me to the list of hellos to Rave.

I think I overcompensated a bit this year, I made a turkey with dressing AND a ham! I not going to cook for a week, or maybe longer, lol.
