When I first got the Cthulhu, I would get some leaking, especially during/after a refill. The problem was that I was wicking it like a Goblin. I learned to use more wick than I was used to. I really cram it into the juice wells..... no leakage anymore, no floods during refills or anything. I don't even close the airflow. Still never a dry hit.

Yep, for top filling any atty:

1. Close airholes
2. Fill
3. Began putting on cap, flip and finish tightening that last half turn or so quickly
4. Open airholes, but leave inverted for a bit
5. Flip back over and you should be good to go. I do this on many attys and I've had enough practice that I never leak provided its wicked correctly. I add that last part because I had a big goof a few weeks ago with a new atty and leak city. After I thought about it, I suspected I didn't wick it right as I have my fill proceedure down. I made a change to my wicking and all is perfect now.

Quick update, Cthulhu is definitely my favorite tank to use, sorted out my wicking issue, still needs refinement but it's absolutely slamming when not leaking. Fixing the wicking issue allowed me to crank up the wattage to 45 on a .4 dual build. My only real issue with this tank is the top refill. Either I am not able to get the top piece off, or the whole top cap comes off. It's very frustrating, because if I take the top cap off (not the drip tip piece), it seeps. The creators should consider making a after market piece with checkering and a higher lip to be able to grab it easier. Otherwise, top notch atty.

have you gotten it off at all since you got the tank? if not you can try rinsing under water stick in freezer for a couple mins. then drop it into hot water for a min or so. Use a drip tip in the top when you try to undo it. Once you have it off it goes on and off pretty easy. I mean its snug and tight but you should no longer have to fight it.

Yeah, I've gotten it off before, but I occasionally over tighten it and that is where it becomes a pain. A checkered texture in that secondary top piece would be ideal for a decent, as it is now, if it's stuck on tight, it's a ..... to get a good grip on it.

Everything is O-ringed so there really is no reason to over tighten with the gorilla grip. LoL. Snug them down and let the o-rings do their job.

I did that to mine! :) I used a cutoff wheel on my dremel tool,to cut shallow slots around the outside of it. It is easily removable now. Why they didn't see this is amazing to me,since so much obvious research went into designing the RTA?:?:

I am soooo doing this!!! Did you measure the spacing on them? That looks really even.
