Lets face it, the Juuls give a non-smoker a buzz.
Almost any vape with nicotine will. My wife has never used nicotine in any form. Very early on, I had some Halo Belgian Cocoa at 18 mg in their eGo style setup with something like a 2.4 ohm coil and she remarked how great that smelled. So I asked her, "wanna try it?". She took one puff and her reaction was, "Whoa!" It was an almost instant buzz which she didn't care for at all.

There are those of us that are prone to addiction and those that aren't. I'm sure there are those in the continuum in between. I for one am an addict, nicotine, almost (debatable) alcohol, stuff we can't mention of which violent anxiety attacks ("the paranoia") made me quit or I'm sure I would still be doing, speed (as in racing), hacking and cracking (software & hardware), etc. Then I have an acquaintance that once in a blue moon will have a cig or other smoke or get drunk and go on with life for months without. Personally it took 48mg/ml to get me off the cigs and 18 is as low as I can go (MTL) without withdrawal symptoms and I wound down to that slowly expecting to get much lower and or to 0%. Nancy Reagan obviously did not understand the addiction gene. My Father had the speed and hacking and cracking addiction and my Uncles and Cousins the same with nicotine, alcohol, and other unmentionables thrown in so I'm of the opinion genes play a role.

Then there's the British term for cigarettes. Best not said if you don't have an English accent so as not to be misconstrued. Hard to understand why that hasn't changed with the times, but who can understand the Brits? Maybe it's a Brexit thing.

T'aint propa te saye ye darnt get me drift man! yew yanks mangles 'eR Mageestees English anyways!

Gamblers, am I right? What’s up with them?

That’s the one I managed to side step. I get it, but at the same time, I don’t get it. I’m not looking down on anyone, I just never win so it’s easy for me talk righteous. It’s a good example though where I can step outside and watch “the mechanism” at work because I get zero twitch response from that temptation. It’s odd how certain things will get you.

Amount of nic needed for satisfaction (relief of cravings) is a strange one indeed. I always raise an eye brow when folks are asking for advice and are immediately asked how much they smoked.

Here's why. I was a heavy smoker. Thirty fags a day when smoking tailor made's and 50g rolling tobacco lasted me three days, yet 18mg nic was plenty when I started vaping and was soon reduced to 12mg. Nic patches recommend 21mg patches to start, based on my smoking habits but they blew my brains out, as did 14 mg patches. I could only use 7mg patches and they were enough, although there was a step down for a few days.

From that I conclude the amount of nic needed to quit isn't so simple to establish, based on a smokers cigarette consumption.

Forgot to add...Juuls high nic has been abused by underage people. That's not a fault of Juul, it's a fault of the kids and certainly to anyone selling them to people underage.

Kids here are filling balloons with nitrous oxide and inhaling it. There's empty canisters land balloons lying every where. Ban balloons? Ban the gas which has legit uses?

Not my pic but it's a common sight where I live.

I had an ex brother in law who would hit up my can of Redi Whip for the nitrous oxide. Wouldn't realize it until I went to put whipped cream on something and it was flat.

Following growing numbers of reports of respiratory illness -- totaling 215 at last count -- and one death thought to be linked to vaping, the CDC on Friday warned e-cigarette users to avoid purchasing black market :censored: or nicotine products sold on the street and to stop modifying the products at home.
And they laughed at me a few years back when I said they would eventually go after DIY'ers...

I have no doubt that they will, but right now it seems to me that they are talking about adding street drugs to them. I'm glad they are starting to distinguish between nicotine juice and street carts with illicit drugs in them.

Gotta with some sort of data point.

Yes, it's complicated. People are different, and of course the type of equipment they choose has a big effect as well.

That claim has been around for as long as I've been vaping.

Really? Wow. When I started that's pretty much all anyone did. Besides carts stuffed with fish tank foam or tea bags! But I spend my time blithely vaping away, and only come back to the forums when things become unsettled (again), so I miss a lot.
