I got an e-Mail last night from a recently switched Life-Long Smoker. She was Ranting Blue Thunder about what a Complete Travesty the FDA's actions were in light of the Information that has come out of the UK and France. She Told me that she would Like to Tell the FDA Exactly how She Felt.

I told Her why didn't She Compose Herself and Do Just That.

Supposed offset of operating expenses.- i.e. Expanding for better control over our freedom.
FDA Tobacco Division Had Tobacco under control and Regulated with a hand full of people on Feb. 15, 2007. Blocking advancements in Tobacco Technology and Blocking BT Competition in the US. Yet the FDA Tobacco Division has continued to Expand like an out of control volcano As has Big Tobacco.<<<<<<<Bed Fellows?o_O

Their New Budget includes Hundreds of Millions for FDA Bought and Paid for Research through University Grants under specific Research guidance.(Gantz/etc.) The FDA has enlisted several New Universities in its Fight to Deliver Junk Science to the people.

Again, we need only follow the money to see why we are loosing.:glare:

Thanks Robino1, I needed a sign of progress on this today. Every time I think about many more people starting, continuing or returning to smoking instead of vaping it turns my stomach. Vaping has been a lifesaver for me and so many.

This came online last night. I do believe I'm going to be ill.

The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: FDA Draft Guidance Confirms that Deeming Regulations Will Decimate the E-Cigarette Industry

I get that Professor Siegel isn't a lawyer, and I would still like hear a legal standpoint on this, but the Prof. has been in and around tobacco control for many years so I feel like he probably has some expertise on this.

I'm not sure if you have Seen this. But Dr. Siegel wrote a nice piece in the WSJ on May 5th, 2016

The FDA’s Vaporous Thinking About E-Cigs

    I've just contacted them myself.

    To Whom it May Concern,

I would like to ask why in heaven’s name have you decided to create such an insurmountable mountain of hoops to go through in the supposed name of public health? If you truly cared about the public health, you would be endorsing the use of the Electronic Cigarette. Instead, you choose to make it impossible to comply with your draconian regulations.

Not only are you committing murder, yes Murder, you are also killing an industry that has created jobs. The small businesses that you are targeting, cannot come up with the funds to even begin to apply for your blessing, to which you do not have an obligation to even consider for approval. It is totally at your discretion whether or not you will grace them the opportunity to stay in business.

We know what you are truly after.

The blood of many, who will continue to smoke because they are denied access to a 95% safer alternative, is on your hands. So is the blood of those that return to smoking because you have killed an innovative market.

    SHAME on YOU!

You say that you are doing this to protect us. Bull.

You cannot silence truth and truth will come out. It is already starting and will get stronger: Nicotine without smoke: Tobacco harm reduction

This step you have taken is wrong. You have no idea how many people you have angered and the anger is growing by leaps and bounds. You say you are taming the wild west of vaping. No, you have just started the wild west of vaping. There are millions of us that will fight back.

Please, continue on your path. I know you will. You cannot believe that vaping can save lives. Millions of us that have gotten healthy just don’t count. You are not on the side of public health, you are only out to protect the pharmaceutical industry and the tobacco industry.

I am just disgusted with what you have done.

Off topic---maybe---- but I just finished watching a TV series on Netflix. It was Continuum. The time travel was pretty far fetched but the corporate congress controlling the US was something I can see happening if we don't find a way to stop it.

    Good Deal Robino.

If kinda Shutter to Think that with the Membership Numbers we have here on the ECF alone, that we could be Out "Commented" by Uninformed, Delusional and or Anti e-Cigarette Agenda Pushers.

I think that no matter the workaround you think will work, posting it on an open forum where anyone can read your thoughts and perhaps, take them into account in the next round of regs, is probably not a good idea.

I disagree. We need to communicate workarounds. Of course they are going to close loopholes, which means we need to communicate.

I think posting that you are stockpiling is arguably not a good thing. How is it different to make notice of you have many years supply and another person who has equal amount but is a known distributor (in the underground market)? Yet, I'm pretty sure people are going to keep advocating for DIY / long term preparation which is precisely how the underground market operators work.

I think my letter was disjointed and not well thought out. I do think it conveyed my utter disgust with what they have done.

I was slightly angry while writing it. I did contain myself and not swear like I wanted to. ;)

this is bad but take just an average economic juice company like dr crimmys for instance or one of the others. or take a major juice company like g2 for years they have made boatloads of profits maybe even enough to afford the million dollar license. delivery systems regulation is what is gonna be the problem. but they will find ways around that given time. and if given license I see no problem with using fda approved flavorings or vg/pg and would actually prefeer lab standerds and inspection. I think many juice companys will survive and as for the hardware go out and buy some mech mods.

The FDA hasn't even said Anything about standards. as far as I know.

This has nothing to do with the work space that the liquids are being made. so far.

This is about shutting out the small guys so that the big guys aren't threatened.
