... cannabis good, mango bad.

That does have a Catchy Ring to It.

And it's Not like a Child/Teen would be Attracted to something Like Pot.

BTW - In Inner Political Circles they say it a Tad different. They say...

cannabis Taxes and Stoned Voters Good. Mango MSA Payment Reducing Bad.

All I know is that it's also known as prussic acid and I don't want to inhale it at any level. But yes, the dose makes the poison.
Well, between the Vit-A and the H.Cyanide....that's pretty much a "you're screwed" if you got enough of it. You can ask your DH, but I'm betting he'll just shake his head and cry. IDK if that additional info could help them form a better treatment methodology to reduce further deaths. I think the H.C. is a chemical burn and if burned enough you're screwed without a lung transplant.

This sounds like a "slow burn" over time.

I assume these trace amounts over time just degrade all the tissue, it reacts with either lipoid pneumonia (Vit-A) or just gushes water/blood (H.C burn) and you drown in your own body fluids if you don't suffocate first due to no air exchange.

Talking out of my .... here. But that should scare some people away from the stuff. ;)

Good that the legit shops don't use either thing.

All of the above, dear. All of the above. Tools.

And yes, they are very defensive about legalizing pot. Their pet project. cannabis good, mango bad. That's been their mantra for a very long time.

BTW - Now Isn't a Good Time to have comments like this being Printed in the Media...

"Americans are getting sick and a handful have died as a possible result of marijuana vaping. Surely this is not the time to reward Big Marijuana with investment opportunities,” said Dr. Kevin Sabet, president of SAM and a former three-time White House drug policy adviser in a press release.

Marijuana banking law could create new opportunities for Main St. investors

You gotta stem the evil tide,
And keep it on the inside.
Mary you're nearly a treat,
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a Cry.

Well, I suppose with every good comes a bad.

But why would a drug dealer need angel-investors? I mean, really! That's one that should grow fast enough on its own. I guess with corporatism the way it is, we're talking about competition, expansion, and being the "Walmart of the Green". So money helps expansion.

The thing is, the backstreet bootleg crap is cutting into the legit (clean) stuff. Not that there hasn't been clean stuff forever.

Maybe the saving grace are the GYO laws that allow plants to be grown at home. Maybe the smartest ones will be the ones that sell DIY extract kits for GYO people. ;)

"If approved by the Senate, it would amend federal law so that commercial banking and other financial institutions could legally offer services to state-compliant cannabis businesses.

For the first time, those businesses would be able to open federally insured bank accounts from which they could manage deposits, as well as process paychecks, payments, and credit cards."

I know. It's a mess. OTOH, all those poor dispensary owners have been begging for a banking reform. Their business is strictly cash only here and they are afraid of being robbed because of all that cash they have on their premises... I do feel sorry for them. They have to pay big bucks for security, many have been attacked and robbed.

He didn't cry. But he did shake his head. You don't want Vitamin E acetate and/or hydrogen cyanide in your lungs.

I'm just so grateful that the NBC News finally broke the story with intelligence, knowledge and some solid investigating reporting. Maybe there's still hope for journalism and for all of us.

Trust Me... Many are Very Scared as to just what would be the Ramifications of all this. Because there is a Enormous Rabid Pack of Hungry Venture Capitalists waiting in the Wings.

And if the Green Light was suddenly turn on at the Banks, there would be Nothing to hold back the Flood of BIG Money coming down into your State and Dominating the Market. As well as Influencing Regulations that Only Big THC could comply with.

Replace BT with BIG THC. And then replace e-Cigarettes with THC. What Happened to Us is what small Cannabis Companies/Retailers Fear.

Good point. But I still believe that any legal business should be allowed to conduct their business legally. They pay taxes but can't process credit card payments or open bank accounts? That's just wrong.

Yeah, but that's distinct from the investment/ownership/venture-capital side.

Interestingly, and maybe :offtopic:but the news just announced that here in MI several counties will be aerial sprayed for mosquitoes due to EEE. I mention it due to the pesticide issues stated above. Although legit places probably grow inside, but who knows?

14 counties to spray for mosquitoes amid EEE outbreak

And IDK what pesticide they use either.

No Arguments here.

And it is a Good Example of when those in Power take a Look-the-Other-Way approach to Policies, how things can Devolve into a Big Tangled Mess.

Federal and state governments are on a roll and they are not going to let a little thing like the truth slow them down. Do those states now doing bans (I am sure mine will be next) really think vapers will not just source their supplies elsewhere while 1000s of businesses and jobs are being lost in their states. Let's see if NBC reports on the sharp rise in smoking rates, both adult and teen, or the lack of declining smoking rates once the governmental dust settles...

Per kristin's Head's Up thread, It Looks like Washington State will go Red Stick Pin Today.

Inslee Executive Order On Vaping Expected Friday

Looks like I can Pull that Red Stick Pin Out!

"The governor will ask the state board of health to adopt emergency rules to approve the ban on flavored vaping products. The board will take up the measure for a vote on Oct. 9.

Inslee noted that he intended to take more stringent action, stating that he “wanted to go further than this,” but was limited by existing statutory authority."

At least until Oct 9th.

But Congress enacting federal law to allow Cannabis dispensaries to legitimately use the federally insured banking system does sorta fly in the face of federal law that still regards cannabis as an illegal drug listed as a Class 1 narcotic by the DEA as having no legitimate medical use (never mind for fun). Did Congress just enact a restriction for the DEA and other federal agencies from pursuing money laundering cases for drug dealers? How does the system keep one agency's enforcement regulations from bleeding over into another's? Will it be up to the bank to establish the legitimacy of a cannabis operation to assure they're operating under state law, and will the large national banks want to set policies state by state to differentiate medicinal from recreational in each affected state?

This is a great opportunity for investors to form state and regional specialized merchant banks and merchant account processors devoted to the business, as they would be geared towards addressing just those issues, with obviously, concomitant higher transactions fees for all the trouble. It's the difference of a prime merchant credit card account with a 2% fee versus say the little specialty merchant processors (like the guys who have the little square thing you stick on the bottom on an iPhone to scan a card for a sale) for small accounts that can charge 4-5% fees for the same service. Money to be made. And as you need financial reserves to run that type of operation, it's tailor made for mid-size investment companies to jump on. Because does Chase or B of A really want the business that bad?
