Welcome back, my friends
To the show that never ends
We're so glad you could attend
Come inside! Come inside
Nice one! :thumb: ELP from Brain Salad Surgery - Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression, Part 2. Still one of my favorite albums.

One of the greatest drum solos ever starts at 2:50. Carl Palmer kills it.

One could say goobermint is making, or has made, Brain Salad Surgery with all their cluster :censored:ing around.

Urban Dictionary: Brain Salad Surgery. The art of screwing with ones mind either with words or pictures. In the end, turning a level headed, methodical person into a minion.

IF the purpose of this tax was only to raise money - It doesn't make sense.
Obviously a draconian tax will cause a diminished use of nicotine products such as vaping.
And accordingly will not raise as much money as they want.
So is this tax made to raise money? - Or is it another way to continue the prohibitionist agenda for vaping?
Has the FDA finally admitting that vaping is safer than smoking at least partially responsible?
Some increase in tax might have been expected - But an industry killing tax apparently has a more
malignant agenda.

Nothing those subterranean creatures do makes any sense.

It does make perfect sense if you want to control and tax a natural nutritional as if it were a drug without being one…and set that great precedent through radical distortions of the English language and convoluted impossible regulations.

But it's for the kids of course so naturally, good stuff.

Good luck. :)

"The nicotine tax proposal in the Build Back Better Act neglects sound excise tax policy design and by doing so risks harming public health. Lawmakers should reconsider this approach to nicotine taxation.

Note: This post was originally published on October 18th but has been updated to reflect the latest version of the Build Back Better plan."

I just heard on the news the bill has passed the House - Does this mean the draconian nicotine tax is a
done deal?

When will it go into effect?

From what I can find the Infrastructure bill passed the house. I thought the tax was in Build Back Better which has not been voted on and would still have to go to the Senate where there is some opposition to it.

That's right according to Americans for Tax Reform.

"H.R. 5376, The Build Back Better Act, includes new taxes on lifesaving alternative nicotine delivery systems which would see some prices double and could make them more expensive than deadly combustible cigarettes."

This crap will never stop until/unless we get all the special-interest money out of politics...completely new campaign/politics financing.

On the ?plus? side...maybe they'll make the stinkies actually burn/smoke properly again. But I doubt it, probably costs less to make them the crappy way. And "they" still want to ban them too.

P.S. Vuse Alto...uh...works; I bought one as an emergency backup when I learned of the FDA approval, since that's what will be flooding the market. It's not terrible, and particularly if I can refill the pods with better juice, is less than a pack of smokes. Of course, it is over priced, under powered, and full of BT chemical-laden juice that I don't trust. But hey, you can't have everything!

I'd say it works "better" than the old njoy eGo, since it has a newer design, if you can stand pods.

Let's hope that people don't put stupid stuff into them when refilling the tobacco-flavor-only pods, because we all know that's what will be coming next. With luck, international sites like this one will be able to keep getting the word out on what does and doesn't go into your lungs. Unless congress bans them (vaping sites) too.

It was the Vuse Solo that was approved, not the Alto.

If you do that how will politicians become multi-millionaires on a $177,000 per year as they look out for the little guy?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyone know if the Solo (or Alto I guess) has a puff-counter in it

I don't know about the Alto, but the Solo has a "puff counter", but not like we vapers think of a puff counter. It doesn't have a screen that tells you how many puffs you have taken. Rather, it has a microchip, like a printer ink cartridge, that counts the # of times the cartridge has been activated to determine for you (oh stupid vaper) when your cartridge is empty (even though it usually isn't).

This can be advantageous since you can't run it dry (in theory) and get a nasty burnt hit, but I have heard that, like ink cartridges, there is always some juice left, enough to actually vape without a burnt hit. So just like an ink cartridge, you ed up a wasting some liquid gold inside, which you paid for dearly.

so you can't refill it

It's not meant to be refilled.

Yeah, I know. But one refill with normal-juice of our flavor choice, halves the cost of the $$$$$ cart (and cuts the sales). :D
And they know that. So they find a rationalization for putting in the puff counter...
