Some guy named Limbaugh was the Town Crier.
Rush Limbaugh was, and maybe still is a vaper.
It is somewhat odd that he has been silent about the new regulations.

Or maybe he has not been silent.
I haven't listened to him in quite a while.

But yeah, if he has been silent, that would be pretty strange.
Especially if he is still vaping.

Something I've wondered about: Do we even have lobbyists? That, for the large part, is how things get done (or NOT done) in Washington. I realize what CASAA does, but I'm just curious if any of the larger vendors have their own lobbyists on payroll. I don't know the answer to this, or if its been discussed, but I am curious.

Also, this is where a PR person could come in handy ;)
I'm thinking of starting a poll...

What is the best way to utilize our resources?
--Lobbying
--Funding legal battles
--Public relations

The obvious answer is all three.
But if we have limited resources, how should they be allocated?

It must be nice to have unlimited funds, like our opponents.

I would nominate you, DC. I think lobbying is a priority. PR is great but iffy, would take much longer to have an impact. JMO, of course.

I may share an example of lobbying and the power of it when I feel up to typing it all out. Related to the addiction field, not vaping.

    SFATA has lobbyists.
Also I believe Greg Conley from AVA is pretty much a lobbyist.

I don't think it would be hard at all honestly. Put in a guy to head up the DHHS who will get an FDA administrator to tear up those regulations. It really wouldn't take much at all.
Unless he or she campaigned clearly and forcefully indicating action like that could be expected, they would likely lose politically in other areas. His/her alliances and priorites could be shattered, and could lose votes for their party in the next elections, not to mention their own re-relection.

But, yes, a President could put a stop to it all very quickly.

They were on Casaa's site, but I couldn't even find my own testimonial there.
Type in the search for the name you used when you made your testimonial. I found mine in less than a second.

You can look for it, Robin Lawthers. Posted July 11, 2013... I wonder if I can update it.....

It has finally dawned on me which part of vaping the FDA believes is made of a tobacco product: THE NAME! Vaping is hated for no other reason than word association. And that name association comes with a lot of well nurtured negative connotations. It elicits an emotional response from millions of people and guess who else, "their leaders". Rational thought goes out the window as soon as they hear the name e-cigarette. There is no way anything good can come from something with the word cigarette!! Oh and its also hated because of loss of revenue.

If what we were all using was called an electronic personal vaporizer or an e-vape how much different would all of this ludicrous mess look?

Stay strong out there and fight for what you KNOW is right!!

I think i did that, but I'll try again.

I found it first time I tried. I think it was a few days after I submitted it. A couple months or so later, I couldn't find it.

I mentioned in my email to my reps that anyone who supports these regs are signing my death certificate.
I actually tell them that supporting the regs is tantamount to murder and I will be shouting loudly at every campaign stop about their participation in killing parents of children all over america.

I've seen that ad over a dozen times.

    Well, that's not entirely true.

I've seen about one third of that ad once.
And then put it on mute every other time it polluted my television screen.

But even seeing only one third of it one time, I was enormously angry.
I don't think I could have possibly handled hearing the rest of it.

But even with the sound off I saw where they went with it.
Oh it makes me so mad just thinking about.

What an enormous load of crap that commercial is!!!
    ARGGGGGHHH!!!

Fragmentation. Disinformation. Spin doctors. Formatting public opinion.

'The primary responsibility of government is to protect the minority of the opulent against the majority'
    (James Madison, 4th President, USA)

The only reason for democracy - or what passes for it nowadays - is that it is currently more cost-effective to run than a totalitarian state. But with surveillance capabilities growing by leaps and bounds thats is going to change sooner rather than later.

The above referenced advertisement is a prime example. Spoonfeed the public with it till is gets swallowed.

'If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth'
    (Lenin, Goebbels, et al )

CASAA Testimonials | Share Your Story! There is a search feature in the right hand side.
I think I remember the way I shortened my name, but there's no way to go back to the beginning to sift through the huge number of search results. It show the most recent first (only a few per page), clicking and scrolling through the first several pages didn't get me beyond this week's testimonials. I don't remeber exactly when I did mine, but it was long ago.

If I remeber right, when I tried after a few months or so, I went through all the pages of results, and didn't find it. Took a long time to do that. Would take way longer, now.

I was afraid I wouldn't find mine if I used something other than my real name. I used my real name and in parentheses used my ECF name so I was covered on all sides LOLOLOL

I was only 9 months quit at the time of writing my story. I'm almost at 4 years (October will be 4 years) quit.

Or vote for an administration that will gut the FDA and get some common sense people in there to run it.

Not that any President would have an easy time doing that, but the buck stops at the top for the FDA. The President.

Here is some Interesting Reading regarding the Next President...

The American Action Forum predicts that given the current House and Senate calendars, President Obama will have until May 17, 2016 to issue significant regulations without fear the next Congress and succeeding administration will use the CRA to repeal the regulations.

One such significant regulation is the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) proposed “deeming regulation” for electronic cigarettes and vapor products in the U.S.

Grover, again. I hope it keeps trying.

The media is in on the candidates' apparent invoking the 5th ammendment re vaping. Break the media's silence on asking the Pesidential candidates.
