Also, there will likely be some e-cigarettes available, just not anything we would want.
The regs are written for the big guys with big money. That includes BP, who's been able to go about its messing with our rights and health, more silently and behind the scenes than BT. And they very well, might have more success in capturing the market.

That is, if everything goes as planned for the FDA. I sure hope it doesn't even come close.

I am 90% sure we'll see a BP OTC personal inhaler NRT once the market is fully decimated. They'll even offer flavors and multiple nic strengths as part of their pathway to quitting. Of course they'll also let people know that long term use is perfectly ok, even dual use as long as you cut down your smoking.

They won't be anything like we use now, because they won't want them to be too effective, but they'll be good enough to string people along for awhile.

I hate to say it but I saw all this coming some time ago when I heard the rhetoric that my local public health was spouting. I just didn't think it would be quite this bad but I knew they wanted it banned. They had enough clout to get our government offices to put it in the same category as smoking long before most places were doing it. People thought I was nuts, even here on this forum when I said we couldn't vape where we couldn't smoke, etc. PH in my area is very powerful.

I think they'll make actual vaping devices, not just inhalers, and I think they'll want them to be effective.

That would be funny as hell if it weren't too close to truth.
These regs MIGHT get pulled back, because they are SO incredibly over-reaching. But I agree, we aren't seeing what I'd consider a response that's powerful enough to be effective. It seems almost as it the organized groups are hinting that they have a plan - but if there's some secret plan, you're going to need MASSIVE SUPPORT and that means publicizing it now.

The people who like these regs and want them to stand?
They DO POLITICS ALL DAY LONG. Year after year. They have tested and professional (not ethical - but professional) methods of influencing legislation. They win in court against NATIONS and intimidate government bodies.

Someone needs to pay what it takes to play the Billion Lives movie in DC.
Someone needs to start "viral" campaigns disseminating the truth about the regs - ONE message passed around by a million people. We need POSITIVE vaping stories to dominate the news for a change.
I don't really know what else could win except massive public outcry, or dumb luck being tacked onto an Agriculture bill. Tobacco has billions of dollars at stake - do you think they're going to let that happen?
BT has been protecting their cash crop for generations...they have long term goals. They have many lawyers and spin doctors on the payroll. They are going to be the custodians of vape products in the future. They bought and payed for our own governments help in insuring this outcome. They own the FDA. We are mere gnats on a hot summers eve to them...

Even when I took my first Vape in August 2013 ... I wondered how BG had not Hijacked Vaping already.

It didn't take me long to start Vaping with gear that I could make last forever ... plus, everything I use is over 2 years old.

I saw this coming from day one ... however, I still think we win this, but not without a serious setback with these FDA regs first.

In 2014 I was visiting my parents in Indiana and having a nice vape and
talk with my brother on the porch. I told him I was trying to get my nic
level down considerably cuz the government was sticking their nose in
this industry. I also told him that he will start seeing negative news stories
and 'studies' about the bad side of vaping very soon, in an effort for them
to destroy the small business part of the industry. I was right. I didn't
want to be right. I wish I would have been wrong.

We had plenty of warning, years worth, but I don't think anyone thought it would be this bad or wanted to believe it could ever be this bad. I am glad for the optimist in this whole mess, but, I am not one of them. I don't see this having a positive outcome for vapers or the independent industry, I would be happy to be wrong though.

I can't seem to quit listening to this song, heard it in a couple of different advocacy videos in the last few days. It's quickly becoming the Vaper's Anthem.

I first heard it in Johnny Cottonseed's New Product (2019) deeming video on youtube. I really wish he would release a version without the opening of him talking.

This is possibly the saddest news I've heard so far. ProVape is an all American company that did everything right. They started a business here, in the US, instead of outsourcing their manufacturing to some foreign country to save money. They make high quality, safe, dependable products and they back them 100%. They don't cut corners, they take pride in their work, and respect their customers. They employ people and they pay taxes. They help people stop smoking. And now they are going out of business? What a shame.

I was never a ProVari fanatic, but I do own one and it has served me well for years. I remember the excitement on this forum when ProVape announced the launch of the first Provape mod and then the vv ProVari in 2010. It was a game changer....

I'm ashamed of our leaders, of the FDA, CDC, HHS, and the whole alphabet soup of organizations that are behind those draconian and ill-advised regulations. But I'm most ashamed of the Democratic Party that is leading the assault on vaping, both here in CA and nationally. This is a party of progress, of reason and science, of inclusion, tolerance, compassion and enlightenment? And they do this? Seriously? Shame on them.

I really can't see Obama vetoing.

I can, although I agree that it's going to be difficult for him--especially now, when he's on his way out.

But then there's last minute horse trading. Someone may remove the amendment from the bill in the middle of the night...

Turns out, the one I saw today was also Johnny Cottonseed's. He used it with the NJ flavor ban protest footage. Careful, it's an emotional piece.

I've been hearing negative rumblings about ASH UK in the last few days.

ASHes to ashes, trust to dust - Fergus Online

    Geez...

"They’re far more interested in hanging on to their budgets and their unearned seat at the table of power. Well, that power is slowly slipping away from them, along with their reason for existing. If smokers in the UK want to quit, all they have to do is find a good vape shop."

    This is so sad.

Made me so upset I ended up tracking down the twitter handle for the state senator that submitted the bill. Informed him that vapers are turning into one issue voters with long memories. If he wanted to confirm that, all he had to do was contact AG Zoeller from Indiana who came in 3rd for the House seat he was running for. :sneaky:

Yes. I got quite emotional even the first time I heard it. It hits a couple of my big buttons.
