Beyond that issue, it is true that most of Western world subsisted on bread for thousands of years. Yet diabetes is a modern phenomenon. It is a far more complex subject than "all carbs are bad"
It's all the added sugar in foods. There is no reason to do that other than to keep people addicted to sugar.
