I agree it is good news. However, the cynic in me views this as getting back a few crumbs of the bread they stole from us.

But the thing is, " everybody does not think the FDA is evil ". As an ECF member, it's easy to have a skewed understanding of the FDA's popularity, but the general public, by and large, has a favorable opinion of the FDA imo. To confirm, I just checked the latest Gallup Poll i could find ( 2014 ), and 45 % thought the FDA was doing an excellent or good job, 35% thought it was doing a fair job, and only 19 % thought it was doing a poor job.I see it as so they can say something like, "See. And Everybody Thinks We're Evil"..
Yep, around here (as with most everywhere) if you don't explain every little word in detail, somebody will pick apart what you say (type) and nail you to the cross. No, I'm not going to go into detail what I'm trying to say exactly. Doesn't matter, I'm already bled out and in need of a transfusion.Ya, I realize that 'everybody' is too general a statement. I meant and should have specifically said something like 'most everybody in the vaping community'.
Representative Tom Price (R-GA) is testifying at his hearing for Secretary of Health and Human Services as I write.
I do believe Senator Johnson has Rep. Price's ear so let's hope Rep. Price is ultimately approved.
I am more concerned about the influence the three letter medical associations and BP have on him. They were the top donors to his campaign. We all know what their position is on vaping.I saw some of Price's hearing today and I saw Al Franken blister Price with questions because, at one time, he owned some tobacco stocks. I did not get the impression that Price is a shill for BT at all, but Franken was making a huge deal of it. Price's father died of emphysema because of smoking, so I doubt he is pro BT. Instead, I think he is against over regulation. At least I hope I'm right about this. He voted against the FDA exercising control over tobacco and he has voted against some regulations involving cigars.
Tom Price at HHS could signal very good news on government regulations - Hot Air
I have zero respect for Al Franken so I dismiss anything he says.I saw some of Price's hearing today and I saw Al Franken blister Price with questions because, at one time, he owned some tobacco stocks. I really hope @Bronze is right though, and Sen. Johnson has " his ear ". Any specific reason why you believe this btw ?
Thanks. I am very familiar with what Sen. Johnson has done and said about the deeming regulations.

BT is our ally on this issue. They actually wrote H.R 2058, which Rep. Price did not support. Nor did he support Cole/Bishop btw. I don't see this as an encouraging sign, when so many of his fellow Republicans supported these measures.
Generally speaking Republicaans seem to be more pro BT and Democrats more pro BP, but it may not be the case in this instance.

My hope is that he is guided more by his anti-regulation stance, than the links he has to the medical groups and BP. We shall see.
Wouldn't BT and BP be the chief beneficiaries of the Deeming regs?
...
From the article (and seen elsewhere).... "In his latest letter, Senator Johnson seems convinced that under Tom Price, the current regulation will be repealed."Thanks. I am very familiar with what Sen. Johnson has done and said about the deeming regulations.
My question was if you have any specific reason to believe Sen. Johnson will help change Rep. Price' position on the deeming regs or HR2058 and Cole/Bishop.
I always thought of him as a regular nut job.Al Franken's name is on a lot of the anti-vaping crap so often reported here.
I used to like him but now he is just another ANTZ nut job as far as I'm concerned.
I always thought of him as a regular nut job.![]()
That's more than I could come up with.He was great on SNL as Stuart Smalley and in some of their skits. That's all I can say about him that's positive.

It's an uphill battle convincing the general public, that the FDA is doing a poor job, let alone that they are evil.
