OK, so I've lurked this forum for about a year now, and frequent a couple other related boards...but I joined here today because of this thread. My personal story is not very complicated. I'm still a dual user, but smoke fewer and fewer analogs every week. I've been smoking for 36 years, and I'm trying very hard to keep it from becoming 37. I started with useless cigalikes - I bought exactly two, and went back to cigs. When the eGo style devices came out, I tried those - better, yet still ineffective. The current generation of hardware choices are what is making this difficult journey come to a satisfying conclusion.

We MUST FIGHT this tyranny. These regulations the Fecking Dumb Asses released yesterday are about much more than vaping, BT, BP, and "saving the children," or even the money involved. There is MUCH MORE at stake here, if people would only open their eyes.

I think the general populous of this great nation is finally realizing what is going on behind the curtain, and they've had enough. This is only one more in a long string of abuses and usurpations of personal liberty that have been occurring since about say... maybe 1913, and enough is enough. I think most folks posting on this thread already understand this to a certain degree.

With that said, I stand in solidarity with you all, and have already signed petitions, contacted my legislators, Representatives, Senators, the President and all that good stuff. I'm also expanding my personal DIY stockpile, of course. We also need to tell all our family, other vaping friends, friends who smoke but maybe haven't gotten into vaping yet, people we know who smoke cigars also, about what this alphabet soup bureaucracy is up to. It's not just about us vapers, this is about EVERYBODY'S PERSONAL LIBERTY!

Anyway, the main reasons I joined and responded to this thread was to 1) stay on top of what's going on in the movement, 2) learn more about this "event" that SJ mentioned on the previous page, and more importantly, 3) offer some help to our brother USMCokatu. I opened his profile page but could not see a way to PM him. I'm not sure what he might be in the need of, but I'd like to get in touch with him somehow and see if I could help out with ramping up his stash. If someone could PM or otherwise contact him and ask him to get in touch with me, please do so.

Finally, my apologies for the long post, so thanks for reading.

TL;DR: Great thread; I'm with you; want to know more about this upcoming "event"; and someone let USMCokatu know I'd like to talk to him!

The Government cant make a Decision like this alone, but they can make it happen anyway. This shows you how Corrupt we have let them get. WE gave them the idea that we work for them and do as they say, When it was meant to be the total opposite.
Americans need to come back together, the Government has been splitting us up into "Categories" instead of People just so they can take over everything while were all looking at each-other.. We need to fix this somehow, even if we dont know how yet.. Something has to be done about the Government, they have been going WAY TOO FAR lately, Well the past 10-20 years actually..

Thanks for the support, but I am good for now brother.
Instead, take what you would give...and give it to CASAA, to help ALL vapers in our time of need :)

I think I knew that at one point in time :) However, the link I posted (the third part of Step 9) said it will be final on May 10th, so perhaps it's being reviewed by Congress now????

The other provisions on Step 9:

Administrative Procedure

Act Provisions

Under the Administrative Procedure

Act provisions that are included as

part of the Freedom of Information

Act at 5 U.S.C. 552, agencies are

required to publish final rules, interim

final rules, and direct final rules

in the Federal Register.

Federal Register Act

(44 U.S.C. 1501-1511)

The Federal Register Act at 44

U.S.C. 1510 (implemented at 1 CFR

8.1) requires rules that have general

applicability and legal effect to be

published in the Code of Federal

Regulations.

I really Think at this Point of the Process, that SFATA or CASAA or Bill or someone should Step Forward and Outline EXACTLY what the remaining steps are.

There Should be Absolutely No Confusion as to what is Going to Happen Next. Because I could be Wrong in what I Think is the Next Step in this Process.

We Can Not Counter Punch at This Point.

The Selectively Polled the Dual-User Threads on the ECF?

;)

Seriously though. Where the Statistics can be Mis-Leading is even if the 70% Percentile was correct (which it is Not), what would his Statement sound like if he then Mentioned that More than 2/3 of those Polled were found to have Quit Smoking Completely after 90 Days?

Dual Use percentages need to be Split into Long Term Dual Use and Transitional Dual Use.

BTW - If I went from a 2 PAD Habit to Smoking 3 Cigarettes a Day by using an e-Cigarette, I would still fall into that Fictitious 70% group.

And going from Any Amount of Cigarette Smoking to Any Smaller Amount of Cigarette Smoking IS Harm Reduction. So the FDA and the CDC should quit Screwing with the Numbers and the Charts. And get back to Public Health.

Harm Reduction is what Public Health should be About.

I went from 1.5 PAD to KMA BT instantly.............after 45+years of smoking.

FDA can KMA :grr:

It should be 2 years. On the other hand don't expect vendors to go on selling until the last day. I imagine supplies will start to dry up well before the deadline. Manufacturers, shippers, resellers, will want to be sure all product is out of the supply chain before then, which could take many months. It's possible the market will begin to change quite soon. People who don't expect to be able to get certified by the FDA might pull the plug sooner rather than later. Juice makers and hardware makers are dependent on each other, among other dependencies. Nobody will want to be the last man standing, with a warehouse full of coils for tanks that might not be sold next week.

And as the supplies start to dry up prices will start to rise.

Aren't you forgetting that it being deemed a tobacco product, your state or even county could ban internet sales and if you thought B$M prices were bad now wait till August
I will say this, Joyetec and it's sister company's Wismec / Eleaf are not just going to close factory's in 36 months, these are multi million dollar world wide distribution company's

One of the problems I see, a reason we are where we are today, is far to many of these vape shops are in it for the quick buck and not the long haul. By this, I mean they have no plans of being proactive and fighting for vapers rights...they plan to sell as long as they can for as much mark up as they can, and move on to something else when the well runs dry. I know of two shops in my area that fit this bill....and I no longer buy anything from either.
Awhile back I spent an entire weekend visiting about 20 vape shops in my area.

I gave them CASAA cards to hand out.
I brought a CASAA vendor display case to show them.

I was appalled at how many did not know about the FDA deeming.
I was far more appalled at how many did not care.
I fully informed them nonetheless.

I went back to some of these shops a few weeks later.

Only a few of them had the CASAA cards out for customers.
None of them had gotten themselves a CASAA display.

That was the day I ramped down my efforts.
I decided my time and effort would be better spent stocking up.

The vendors are the ones that needed to spearhead this entire effort.
They did not do so, period, end of story.

Maybe now they will.

I'm just confused. I'm not currently a vaper, I'm still a cigarette smoker, I love to smoke, but I don't love the smell or the hassle anymore. I'm going to get my own vape setup soon. But as far as the FDA..their logic is completely warped. I just don't get it. First off let's be clear, the FDA doesn't give a flying crap about public health. That very term is an oxymoron (pet peeve, I hate whenever people say "public" as if lumping everyone together like sheep, but I digress). The FDA doesn't care one bit about public health. This is all about money and control, but mostly money. The suits at the FDA know that trying to stifle the grassroots vaping by standardization and corporatization will benefit the tobacco industry, and in turn, if more people remain constantly ill from smoking, then that continually feeds their cash cows, the Big Pharma, the corporate doctors, nurses, the corporate healthcare industry which let's be clear is so bloated and out of control that it's essentially a league of Nazi whitecoats.

So to sum up, the FDA knows that by trying to curtail vaping, big tobacco will win, as they always do, and in turn, feed their cash cows the corporate healthcare lobby, the government-controlled media, and in the process if more people die from smoking regular cigarettes, then oh well, so be it, at least in the process towards their deaths, they'll fill the pockets of the corporate controlled doctors. As a cigarette smoker, I enjoy smoking, but I don't enjoy the addiction part and constantly having to deal with smelling like smoke and coughing and all. But it's about personal freedom, and knowing I have the chance to vape and improve my health, it's hopeful, and the grassroots vape community is such a welcoming, nice group of people, and I love all the options and choices I will have when I start choosing my own setups. The FDA wants to homogenize this, and make vaping standardized, like cigarettes are now, and probably knowing them they'd manufacture some bull.... data or claim certain air bubbles are cancerous or something. It's never enough for these people, they're psychotic.

The FDA does not care about "public health". How the hell could a bloated institution like that "care" anyway, they don't know you personally. Let's be real.

Senator Barbra Mikulski - MD

Is a WASTE of time on the Vaping Debate.
-0- Self educated interest
Party Line Canned responses to contact

I Highly doubt she has ever looked at any SCIENTIFIC Data on E-cigarettes or Nicotine without Smoking and could care less about the shear number of persons now NOT SMOKING due to the availability of a SAFER ALTERNATIVE.

I Ask about supporting HR2058, Not for permission to Sell to Children:-x

I don't know why you'd expect anything different from a hard left statist like Mikulski.

I'd be more interested to hear responses from conservative Senators. McCain and Flake aren't that conservative, but they're not "progressive" whackjobs, either. I'll write em this weekend, and post the responses here.

This should be a wake up call to ALL vapers. It is time to put aside our petty differences.......cloud chaser vs. tootle puffers, mech vs. regulated, TC vs. VW, clone vs. authentic.........and band together as a united front. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. If we all band together, unified, we can become one HELL of a squeaky wheel.
I've always said that this is what it would take to get us moving.
I can only hope I was right about that.

I've signed off for an hour or so - "The Lobbyist" will be blogging in the meantime....

Joe,

Thanks for everything you've done in creating ECF! It's a wonderful place and a great place to get information such as this. You look like a young man, and I hope vaping will be around in the same form it is today, decades from now when you hang up your hat.
